Needed some specific tiles for our bathroom project, Maria G kindly located them for me & ran through the discount process we were entitled too through our wider bathroom order. Nice friendly service, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Went into Wickes (Basingstoke) to buy paint today but did not expect to have an Expert painter on the shop floor who carefully and patiently answered my questions. Mark G is a credit to the company. He advised me also on how to treat oak wood and gave me a heads-up for other building information based on his decades of experience. I feel I can really trust everything he says and I’m invited to call in anytime for any other information. Thank you Mark G !

Basingstoke store: is anyone aware that there is a car parking scam operating here? Park your car in the designated car park, go in, spend more than 90 minutes looking around and you will get a £100 charge slapped on you.
Well, Wickes, this is is the last time I shall ever enter your premises and I will advise those I know of the same.

I visited Wickes today 6/08/2025 to get a piece of timber to put a very large jigsaw on and I was wandering around not able to find what I wanted when a very helpful staff member called Mark G came to my assistance. He looked out the back to see if he had anything that would suit but unfortunately on this occasion he didn’t but he was very kind and helpful hence this review .

We recently had a new bathroom fitted which we purchased from Sarah Baxter from the Basingstoke store.
Sarah came to our house and took measurements and was very professional and helpful with her suggestions.
Delivery arrived on the day we were expecting it.
Our fitter was Darren we were very happy with his work,
He didn’t rush the job and made sure everything was as it should be, and was very professional and respectful of our property.
I highly recommend Sarah and Darren,

Mark was very helpful checking for stock, providing information on product codes to insure I received the correct item using my old outdated paint code. New En-Suite

From start to finish the whole process was smooth and efficient. Sarah Baxter was our designer, and she did a great job. We were then assigned an installer, Erwin Building Services Ltd who I highly recommend. Excellent communication, hard working and incredible job done. We now have a lovely new en-suite. Outstanding work and great experience throughout!

We chose wicks from the designer Sarah Baxter as she knew exactly what I was after and a few other ideas that I hadn’t thought off. Though to the fitters the journey went smoothly so happy with the finished kitchen.

We bought our kitchen in February and Sarah Baxter did great job in the design and she has been incredibly helpful throughout the process in responding to our queries and helping to resolve supply issues. The kitchen was installed by the Red Dragon home improvements team. I found all the tradesmen very professional and helpful and the work was completed to a high standard and we are very pleased with the end result. I would be happy to recommend them to others.
I have stopped short of giving 5 stars as I had to chase Wickes with Sarah's help several times due to missing items from the initial delivery. I eventually cancelled my order for the splashback and went elsewhere as there was no sign of it ever being delivered by Wickes.

First time visit here. Had a list of what I wanted but needed help on certain items to find them instore. Two male members of staff in Basingstoke store chatting together right next to me. Politely interrupted asking where the primer was and he was obviously unhappy I had interrupted his conversation and rudely just pointed nowhere in particular and said you'll find it 'somewhere' here and then went back laughing and chatting with his store colleague.

It took some time for me to locate the item and all this time I was ignored whilst he continued his conversation with colleague. I was flabbergasted with his attitude.

I had quite a few items to locate and later politely asked another member of staff to help locate a sanding block for sand paper. She looked pretty put out I had dared to ask for help and stroppily strode to Isle and pointed not uttering one single word.

This was my very first visit to this store and I was really shocked at the way I was treated. For this to happen twice means there is something seriously wrong here with customer service and obviously I won't be returning!

Great help from Maria G… love the staff at Wicks- they’re ACE!

Had some great help from Lauren just now when ordering some material in store to be delivered to my home address. She was extremely helpful and assisted me in completing the order without any fuss. Really pleased with the process, given it was my first time of ordering a home delivery from the Basingstoke store.

A very frustrating and disappointing experience when having our en-suite refurbished.
The entire process was overshadowed by an overwhelming lack of communication from the design consultant (DC) to the point that they decided to order different coloured unit door and drawer fronts to those that we chose. Having had many discussions with the DC and their manager and getting no resolution, we were forced to concede and accept the units that the design consultant had chosen and ordered.
Additionally, the DC failed to inform us that certain products were to be purchased separately, so when the installer arrived to commence the installation, the tiles hadn’t even been ordered. Delay after delay, what was planned to be a two-week project, took five weeks.
Having said all of that, Darren, who installed the ensuite was amazing. Full communication, so professional, clean and tidy, and very respectful of our home. He deserves a 5 star rating.

John was absolutely fantastic today. Went in with a list of things from my husband to Basingstoke and he took so much care with finding everything nothing was too much trouble.

Wickes "designer" planned my kitchen and created an order based on the design. The order included over £800 worth of unnecessary kit which is unused and unopened. I'm not talking about a couple of off-cuts of plinth here. I would need to build an extension to utilise all the excess material. In addition, they sold me a set of internal drawers which do not fit the unit they were designed for. These along cost over £500. So far Wickes have failed to acknowledge this let alone offer a refund. Customer service from Wickes has been virtually non-existent throughout the process.

Whilst the quality of Wickes kitchen units is good, their attitude to existing customers is extremely poor and, if you have an issue, they don't want to know

There are also design errors such as doors that don't open fully.

Check your design and your quote with a fine tooth comb and question everything. Don't trust the designer - they are clearly not the design experts their advertising claims them to be

We were looking for a new ceiling light cluster for our lounge. We found exactly what we wanted at a good price.
The only let down was that the young lad was not very friendly and didn't smile at all. We spent nearly £60 in your store. We visited B and Q store just before yours and only spent £1 in there but got a lovely welcome and a warm smile from the young girl on the çhechout.
