Last year we ordered bespoke units for our kitchen and utility room. Miscalculations were made by the Wickes Designer and as agreed with the Wickes store manager our kitchen fitter had to make modifications to the original design which unfortunately was not as aesthetically pleasing and left us with some smaller units and one less draw.
Six deliveries followed due to missing items, wrong items being received and damaged items being delivered. Some of the items arrived in soaking wet cardboard. Only the final delivery arrived complete. We had to be available to receive the deliveries which meant taking time off work, cancelling appointments etc.
This caused more delays in completion of the kitchen as we not only had to wait for Wickes to make further deliveries but had to wait for our kitchen fitter who obviously had commitments to other customers. This resulted in additional costs to us as we had to pay our kitchen fitter for extra days worked.
Twice we had to delay the stone worktop being fitted due to incomplete kitchen caused by errors made by Wickes.
Stone worktop (company provided by Wickes}was finally due to be fitted Friday 20th December 2024 but unfortunately, the template measurements were incorrect, and the worktop was too small resulting in the fitters removing and returning the worktop. Remade worktop eventually fitted on 8th January 2025
We had to cancel Christmas day at our home as we had an incomplete kitchen. We were unable to use our kitchen properly for months and have lived with upheaval.
The entire process of installing a Wickes kitchen has been extremely stressful. Having to constantly contact Wickes regarding missing items, damaged delivered items and incorrect items being received.
We have carried out property renovations previously but have never had such a bad experience when installing a new kitchen.
Wickes advertise as being a provider of your dream kitchen. What should have been an exciting experience for us as customers has been an absolute nightmare. We have experienced an awful amount of upheaval, inconvenience and stress which is not what we expected from such a large retail supplier. We made a formal complaint to the Store Manager but did not receive a reply and when we contacted customer service they said they were unable to deal with complaints regarding bespoke kitchens and advised us to contact the store manager who again ignored our email. This is the first time we have used Wickes when installing a new kitchen. We would not recommend Wickes.

My partner and I were looking to upgrade our kitchen and found a lovely design on display at our local store, Crawley. Angela helped us and talked us through our options. We arranged a home visit to measure up the very next day. Angela was so knowledgeable and approachable. She managed to get our dream kitchen within budget and we will be going ahead with our order.

I needed help with an issue in my kitchen, and needed to find then right items/accessories; I went to the local branch in Crawley. I was lucky enough to meet Adam, whom straight away was very welcoming, and understood what I needed and took his time in trying to find various solutions to help me resolve the issue. I highly recommend speaking with Adam, he's an asset to the company and very knowledgeable.

We used Wickes in Crawley for installing our bathrooms 2 years ago, at the time we used a designer called Maria and the installation guys were John and Tom. We had a great experience then so didn’t hesitate to use them again when we finally decided to commence our kitchen/lounge project.
Knowing Maria was clearly a great help from the start, she knew what we liked and her suggestions were in line with that whilst at the same time made us think differently about ideas so stretching our comfort zone. Clearly this is what a great designer should do we could always trust Maria with her suggestions as we knew that we would like them.
We came up with an original design which was fantastic and delivered on making the kitchen bigger, installing an island unit with bar chairs on one side.
After considering all the options along with the costs of other associated building works we decided to scale back the size of the design. Maria was totally unfazed especially as a significant bit of work had been done on the design by then. Maria totally understood our reasons and just adapted their plans accordingly. We decided to put all laundry into the end of the garage to release space back into the kitchen. The garage works were completed separately again designed by Maria and installed by John and Tom and was a great success so this just wetted our appetite for the main project.
We would often visit Wickes to see Maria either by appointment or just on the off chance. We would normally be greeted by Nat who worked as an assistant for the designers. Nat would know our names was involved in our project giving advice and making sure we were comfortable when waiting for Maria. She had a lovely way about her and made a mean cup of tea.
We decided on the final design and the price was adjusted accordingly for the smaller project again Maria did everything possible to make sure it was affordable yet in line with our demands for great quality.
I would guess we saw Maria at least 20 times before the kitchen was installed and at no point did she ever make us feel like we were not welcomed or what did we want now. She always had a lovely smile and we had a good catch up personally be it holidays or other events etc.
From the very beginning it was agreed that we would only want John and Tom to do the installation and again it proved to be a master stroke. The guys were amazing worked in such a clean manner and always communicated with us. They brought their own ideas that we knew they would with regards on how to finish certain areas or adapt the design to get over some small problems. Totally trustworthy which is so important in our opinion and there knew how may partner feels about mess with building works etc so they did everything possible to minimise any mess and tidied up every night brushing and hoovering etc
The end result looked fantastic and the importance of being so impactful in our new space.
Everyone who has been to visit has commented on the quality and workmanship and the amazing design of the overall project as Maria not only helped in the kitchen design she had suggestions with regards to the bigger project that we used to great effect.
So a big thank you to Nat, John, Tom but especially to Maria who put up with our constant changes and “what about if we did”.
So in summary delighted with our Wickes bathrooms and Kitchens and the great team that Crawley Wickes has. We look forward to spending many happy years enjoying our new kitchen

I ordered a considerable amount of kitchen units, sinks, worktops etc from Wickes Crawley for a therapy clinic renovation job..... 4 kitchen areas in total so not an inconsiderable order.
Richard at the store could not have been more helpful but be warned....... once they have your money, you can kiss goodbye to any help or customer support. I have wasted over 4 hours of my life in the last 10 days alone trying to sort out various issues.
Firstly, the delivery was missing two cupboards. Three weeks on I'm still waiting for the replacements...having been told in my daily calls they would be here the next day, then the next day, then the next day, then the next day - you get the picture! They then declared them lost and have had to now reorder. Had a text today saying they would be delivered between 2.30 and 4.30 with a contact number. They never turned up and the contact number goes through to the wrong department anyway so that was useless.
Secondly, the units. If you order a 1000mm unit you would expect it to be 1000mm right? Er no. Units varied by 5-10mm which doesn't sound like much but when you order 3000mm worth of units to go under a 3000mm worktop and they are out by 25mm. The worktop now isnt quite long enough......!
Thirdly, we ordered matching upstands and they delivered the wrong colour. When we went to arrange for the correct colour we were told that they were now discontinued. Why were we not told when placing the order for the worktops and upstands that they were discontinuing the upstands, if for no other reason than to ensure that our measurements were correct. Having already put the worktops in position, we now have no matching upstands.
Fourthly, just to get through to customer services expect at least a 20-30 minutes delay......grab yourself a cuppa and settle in as it will be a very long time before you actually speak to anyone.
Fifthly, upon complaining several times to the store regarding the missing units, the manager, Adam, offered to supply temporary units even bringing them over himself if necessary. Today was the agreed day but guess what? He didnt come and no one else did either.
All in all this has led to delays in completing the work which means my clinic opening has been delayed costing me money.
If you want to pay thousands of pounds for a shoddy product, to be repeatedly lied to by Adam and the customer service team and for appalling customer service, then by all means order from them.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid at all costs.

A few weeks before Christmas I contacted wickes customer services to try and get 2 replacement kitchen cupboard doors which had shown signs of deterioration. I was aware that when we bought the kitchen 4 years ago there was a 10 year warranty in place. The service I received I was woeful and was effectively told by the manufacturers that the damage was caused by us. I turned to Richard Sheridan who sold us the kitchen originally. Despite making no promises he took our complaint forward and today I received 2 new doors. I couldn't let the matter rest as I knew we didn't cause the damage and believed that there was a genuine fault in the door coating. I can't thank Richard enough for all his help.

Purchased our kitchen and organised the fitter through John Gillam at the Crawley store. From start to finish the whole process was helpful, friendly, professional. Advisory, not pushy. Happy to do multiple quotes to give us options. It was a replacement kitchen with limit scope for change and we know what we wanted. There as no attempt to upsell, which we appreciated. No pressure at any point. We did our own research in to fitters and based on other customers experience we requested a specific company, which Wickes also recommended, again no issue. Customer communication both from John and the 'behind the scenes' customer services team was excellent. Multiple information about delivery - day and time. Product quality is good and we are very pleased with the kitchen. Would recommend.

John Gilliam from the outset showed interest in what we were looking to carry out with our Bathroon then brought his expertise to guide us through design, ordering then installation as well as some post 8nstallation work that was needed. We cannot recommend John highly enough as I have not worked alongside a person with so much attention to supporting a customer for many many years. To cap everything - Colleagues I worked alongside John from Wickes Crawley were exceptional- Thank you Jet and Sophie (apologies if I have got your name wrong) …Your genuine interest in supporting us at the tills as well as our spoiling our Pug was so warming for us to see.Thank you. Thanks also to the store manager John and his assistant Jack who have clearly put together a wonderful team and you can tell a mile off they are so focused on delivering for their customers. Thanks everyone and I would highly recommend John as well as Crawley branch to anyone… You will be lucky to work alongside such a wonderful person as well as wider team to help you with your project.

Working at Wicks was a valuable learning experience, though it confirmed that this company wasn’t the right fit for me.
I began as a Class 2 lorry driver. I didn’t have much experience at first, but everyone has to start somewhere. I’d like to share my impressions of the company, especially the branch in Crawley.
Pushed to the Limit by Colleagues
Every day, I worked with a different co-driver, so I quickly learned who was pushy and who wasn’t. Most colleagues seemed to be in a rush from the moment we started. I’d just arrive for my shift, and my co-driver would tell me we were already late. Despite explaining driver regulations and legal hours, he called his partner to say he’d be home late because of me. Throughout the day, he reminded me to hurry. At one point, when I took a wrong turn, he said, “Man, that’s five minutes we’re never getting back.” I decided that I wouldn’t risk my safety just to get him home by 2 p.m.
After our final delivery, I asked if he could help secure the straps. He brushed it off, but I felt responsible for the cargo’s safety—if anything fell out, it would be my license and freedom on the line, not his. Later, when we returned, I parked a few meters away from the double yellow lines in front of the company. My co-driver criticized this too, despite not even having a driver’s license himself. By the end of the day, he labeled me the “worst driver ever,” though I didn’t feel late finishing at 3:30 p.m. This was just one of many difficult encounters.
Illogical Safety Rules
The company has strict safety rules, such as forbidding entry into the cargo area and requiring a helmet to open curtains or bins. Drivers aren’t allowed to reverse without a co-driver outside to assist, though many would refuse to step out, visibly annoyed if asked. Each lorry is fitted with CCTV to monitor employees, and they keep track of tachograph data, which may not be entirely legal. Ironically, to save time, some colleagues left cargo doors open and climbed in to retrieve boxes that were out of reach, despite the rules against this.
Carrying Two Tons Daily
The job required us to manually carry boxes to each customer’s location. I’d carry about two tons daily, which adds up to ten tons a week. Although the company promotes health and safety, they overlook the toll this takes on joints, muscles, and backs. Many deliveries involved carrying heavy boxes up multiple flights of stairs, often to the third, fourth, or even fifth floors. The rules seem less about protecting us and more about covering the company’s liability, especially with constant CCTV monitoring. If you’re caught without a helmet, even briefly, it could cost you your job.
In the end, I left because I’d had enough of the pressure, rules that didn’t prioritize real safety, and constant surveillance.
I had a Wickes kitchen installed two and a half years ago, which cost me over £45,000. Today, one of the drawers collapsed. Wickes customer service responded quickly and arranged for a new drawer to be delivered. However, I either have to install it myself or pay someone else to do it. I was informed that while the kitchen comes with a 20-year guarantee, there is only a 2-year warranty on the installation.
I find this very suspicious. If your product is indeed durable for 20 years, then it should come with a full guarantee for that entire period. Otherwise, if a drawer breaks every two years, costing £40 to replace, along with an additional £200 for a handyman, it doesn't seem worthwhile.

Wickes were excellent throughout the whole process. Richard at Crawley Wickes was very helpful as our bathroom consultant offering advice from start to finish. Ryan our installer has done an excellent job fitting our new bathroom. He was there answering our questions and advising us along the way. He was very professional throughout the fit and left us with a clean and tidy house and sparkling new bathroom.

I recently had an excellent experience at Wickes Crawley with the staff and management being extremely helpful.
I explained to a member of the shop floor that I was looking to build a small basement in my house for an Air BnB.
With only a limited idea of the materials to buy, they helped me purchase the fittings and materials necessary to build a small cellar with a 5 metre long corridor, a storage area and three small open passages. This is now equipped with a basic cooking area and bathroom facilities, followed by two sleeping areas, with two beds each.
After discussion around safety, I was advised to reinforce this with concrete and a steel door. The door is securely locked with an electronic locking device which can be given to the guests.
I would thoroughly recommend Wickes Crawley!
