Nicki was amazing! I went in and explained the work I was looking to do. She took me around the shop selecting the correct paints and recommended things in regards to brushes and paint tray liners etc. Couldn’t have made it any easier for me! Thanks Nicki!

Just nipped into Wickes for the first time on Saturday to have a look to see what tiles and flooring they had and was really surprised, found something I liked really quickly so asked the girl Nikki at the desk for some help as I had my toddler with me, she went above and beyond, so far as to get a trolley load up everything I needed and even came out to the car and loaded it up! Was really please with my experience and 5 stars for Nikki she is an absolute gem! Thank you

Popped into Wickes in Dunfermline for a bag of kiln sand for our driveway. It was at back of shop and I was struggling to carry to checkout when David a member of staff noticed. He came up and offered to take it to checkout and then when i was paying he continued to hold it and offered to take out to car for me. What a helpful young man - made my day . Excellent customer service

Rebecca on the tills was very friendly and efficient. Stevie could not have been more helpful when I came in with a discontinued shade of paint to touch up my hall. He talked me through how to get a sample then colour matched it for me. This will save me so much work.

I called with a query about top soil at my Dunfermline store and was offered broken bags at half price. When I went David met me, got the bags (and found the other garden product i was after), then loaded everything into my car for me. Great help and great value

The store had everything i needed at really good prices.
I purchased gloss paint, two different wall emulsions,
rollers, brushes, masking tape.
Plus laminate flooring and underlay.
All available in the store, and at very attractive prices and offers.
Wickes is a great store for all diy requirements.
One staff member called Nikki, was extremely helpful, very friendly and made me feel very pleased that i had chosen the Dunfermline store.

PLEASE TAKE A SECOND TO READ THIS REVIEW AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. Although I've gave 1 star as my actual rating is ZERO!!!!!
Avoid Wickes at all costs — one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had.
Wickes were incredibly friendly, responsive, and attentive while they were trying to secure our business and take our money for an £9,000 bathroom installation. The moment payment was made and problems started appearing, their entire attitude changed. Customer service became dismissive, slow, disorganised, and utterly exhausting to deal with.
What should have been a straightforward installation completed within days turned into months of delays, disruption, poor workmanship, and constant stress for our family. We were left dealing with damaged items, unfinished remedial work, poor finishing, incorrect fittings, sealant issues, and repeated failed promises about completion dates. What was supposed to be a 5-day job ended up taking 2 ½ months to complete. To make matters worse the waste material and rubbish from the installation was left lying on our driveway for over a month awaiting collection. This took numerous calls and emails which was really frustrating. The original fitters were eventually fired/removed from any further contracts due to them being incompetent and such poor tradesmen.
The communication from Wickes was absolutely appalling throughout. Nobody called when they said they would. Updates had to be constantly chased. We were repeatedly passed between departments and individuals, with nobody willing to take ownership or responsibility for resolving the situation properly. Every interaction felt like a battle just to get basic answers or action. Even to this day I am still having to email and call them every day fighting for the embarrassing compensation they offered. I have called and emailed them about 50 times over the past week and the customer service representatives are hopeless.
The entire process felt designed to wear customers down until they simply give up complaining. Wickes showed no urgency despite the disruption being caused to our home and everyday lives. We had to repeatedly rearrange work and personal commitments to accommodate delayed appointments and unfinished remedial visits because Wickes could not organise the project competently.
One of the most concerning aspects was that installers retained a key to our property for an extended period, causing genuine distress and anxiety for our family. Even then, the response lacked urgency and professionalism.
What is most shocking is how little Wickes seem to care once they already have your money. The polished sales experience disappears instantly the moment something goes wrong. Instead of taking accountability, they minimise problems, delay action and offer the absolute bare minimum in response to serious failings.
Even the Ombudsman acknowledged there were clear delays, shortcomings and failures in communication and organisation throughout this installation. Yet after months of inconvenience, stress, disruption and wasted time, Wickes considered £175 adequate compensation. That insulting figure perfectly reflects how poorly they value customers after the sale is completed. Avoid at all costs and take your hard eared money to a competent retailer and do your research online as Wickes has many cases like this. I wish I had checked this out or I would have never gave them a single penny.
Wickes market themselves as a trusted home improvement company, but our experience exposed a business far more interested in securing payments than delivering quality workmanship or proper customer care. If your installation goes perfectly, you may never see the real side of Wickes. But if anything goes wrong, expect endless chasing, excuses, poor communication, and a company that appears determined to do the minimum possible to make problems go away.
We would never use Wickes again and strongly urge anyone considering using them for kitchens, bathrooms, or installation services to think very carefully before handing over their money. Do a quick Google search and you will see this is a regular occurrence and take your hard earned cash to a competent retailer.
AVOID….AVOID….AVOID!!!!!

Huge new store recently opened in Dunfermline and they never manage to have anything in stock.
I want two cans of paint they have 1 etc
Therefore not only a wasted journey but then I order the 2 cans of paint , pay postage and when I open the box the can of paint is leaking all over the place. So now I have to waste another journey to return the leaking can of paint. Back to reliable B & Q~ more expensive however they always have plenty of stock whilist you have a huge empty shop.
Click and Collect ~ switched off at this branch
UPDATE: 09/05/26
Returned leaky paint ~ unable to get another tin as they have none in stock.
Can they send me another tin ~ yes so long as you pay another delivery charge . O and the price has gone up so you will have to pay that as well? Do not think so .
As you can see from the meaningless reply Wicks 'DO NOT CARE' ~

Lisa in the Dunfermline store was absolutely incredible, took time to help set up my Wicks trade pro and couldn’t have been more helpful. Top drawer. Thanks Lisa.
