Tahera in the Halesowen store was…

Tahera in the Halesowen store was absolutely amazing. Great customer support, friendly and super helpful. Tahera is the reason why we will come back to wickes for our kitchen after our experience with our bathroom design appointment. Really informative and went above and beyond her role to provide a service.

Shocking customer service

I spent over thousand pound at Wickes and asked for them to collect some board that were no longer needed. I made the requesting on 8 August and had to chase Wickes for an update. I then had to correct an agent about Wickes return policy. When the board were due to be collected I was told the could only collect half of the board 3 (7) so I had to email again for them to collect the remaining 3. It’s taken 2 weeks to collect 7 board from a store that is 5 miles away. I was unable to return to store as I paid via PayPal. 3 week after my original request I’m still waiting for a refund.
It’s just really shocking that I’ve had to send 10 emails and make several calls to return 7 boards.

Helpful and friendly service with plenty of follow-up support

We had a very good experience with our designer Tahera Rahman from Wickes Halesowen. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Wickes are quite expensive overall, but we had excellent service from the team, who were able to assist with a range of queries as we completed our fit-out.

Neverending workmanship problems part 2

Neverending workmanship problems - October 2023 onwards

I would give 0 stars if i could however this is not a possibility, I will try not to write war and peace but simply provide the following information - Workmanship issue raised in October 2023 - ONGOING

- 22nd OCTOBER 2023 - reported cracking floor tiles and unsecured toilet causing a small leak one year after being installed, advised to Wickes this really worried us as we felt this would just get worse (toilet not fixed to the floor at all reported under 2 year workmanship guarantee) sent photos and videos as requested

- 24th October 2023 - Wickes confirmed that they would cover a temporary fix of the toilet if we arrange for plumber they would reimburse us, we arranged a plumber to do a temp fix as requested by Wickes to stop the leak but not fix the toilet pan to the floor.

-29th NOVEMBER 2023 - After weeks of chasing Wickes for the toilet and floor to be repaired permanently and correctly, the temp fix failed causing an even bigger leak (chased Wickes for emergency plumber but they couldn't decide if they wanted to send a plumber or for us to get our own plumber and they will reimburse)

- 1st DECEMBER 2023 - WITHOUT A TOILET FOR 3 DAYS then after much chasing they advised get a plumber out and we will reimburse (we got a plumber to attend the following day 02/12 and temporarily fix leak as advised by Wickes)

- 2nd DECEMBER 2023 - invoices sent to wickes for the temporary emergency leak repairs carried out on the 24/10 & 02/12

- 18th DECEMBER - Reimbursements finally received after chasing. However this was provided to us as a "good will gesture" rather than a reimbursement cost. We at no point during this incident received any good will.

- 29th DECEMBER - Replacement toilet and floor tiles delivered to property

- 12th JANUARY - Wickes asked for more photos of workmanship issues

- 26th JANUARY - Wickes wanted to attend to assess damage

- 1st FEBRUARY Wickes assessor attended and confirm that the damage/ issues were caused by workmanship and would be covered.

- 22nd MARCH - After chasing provided date for works to be corrected/ completed on the 8th of MAY (advised would take 3 days)

- 8th MAY called Wickes as no one showed up and was told they would chase trades person for update.

-9th MAY Called Wickes again as heard nothing and wife had booked time off for the works to take place was told they would call us back.

- 10th MAY - Call from the trades person to discuss a start date. I asked why he did not start on the 8th of May as advised, Trades person reported that he did not give that date to wickes, I advised my wife had booked leave for those days he advised he will start works on 20th MAY. I advised I COULD NOT CONFIRM if we could accommodate this but would check with my wife and extended family to see if we could get this finally resolved....

- 15th MAY - After days of trying to get time off, asking or friends and family to house sit and look after our dog on such short notice. We were unable to get anyone to help so we emailed wickes to ask for the start date to be rearranged as we were not available for the trades to gain access to the property

- 16th May - we email wickes again to reiterate that its not possible for works to start on the 20th May

- 20th MAY call from trades advising that he will start today, I advised we told wickes the previous week it was not possible and could we arrange a new date, Trades put the phone down before I finished speaking.

Therefore after reporting the issue in OCTOBER 2023 we are now in MAY 2024 with no end in sight, We honestly would like wickes to help us and get the workman ship issues addressed but we feel that this isn't being dealt with any urgency. This issue continuously seems to be with the corrective actions team, who you are not able to speak too.

I do hope that wickes see this and honor their workman ship guarantee and obligation soon. This incident is causing unnecessary stress and anxiety for my family. Our next step will be making contact with the ombudsman as we feel we have given ample time and space for Wickes to honor and uphold their guarantee.
