I’m always ordering from Wickes …..the next day delivery is marvellous… my normal delivery person is Rashpal, helpful , polite and always a pleasure to deal with…. Nothing is to much……. Whether it’s to leave in my safe place or help me move it elsewhere . Cheers to you Rashpal from Hall Green !!!

We have been working on a little project and using Wickes Hall Green store a lot. We have been served many times by Nilesh, he is always polite and pleasant to be served by. Nilesh has amazing customer service, he serves with a smile and always asks us how we are and how we are getting on.
Nilesh works very hard and is always happy to help. We have been very happy with our experience because of him. Thank you Nilesh

I've just gone into the store who a gentlemen called John Coombs who advised me which was the best product to get he went above and beyond to help me as I had no idea on which was the best one and I would definitely recommend this store as I felt the staff was very welcoming

Wickes in Hall green staff are rude and moody - not very helpful especially the people serving on tills. They lack basic customer serving skills.
Hope they receive some training.
Staff should try and empathise with how they would feel if they went to a store and were given the same level of respect. I assume not very happy.

We'd planned on buying a kitchen from a well known trade merchant we've used previously, but our builder told us to check Wickes too. So glad we did! Our design consultant, Ash, was brilliant in helping us design a great looking kitchen in our budget. He has a strong eye for design and gave suggestions that tie in well to our house. Ash pointed out key areas where we could save and areas where a little spend enhanced the space. He listens to clients and helps them reach their goal in budget and scope. 💯 percent reccomended

This is an updated version of a previous review that was removed (by the individual), apparently for containing personal information. So, in this version, I’ll refer to the individual involved simply as “the designer.” Interestingly, “the designer” has no problem being publicly identified when it was for positive reviews. Draw your own conclusions.

We approached Wickes Hall Green to design and install a new kitchen. We met Jon, the store manager — professional and helpful — and were assigned “the designer”. According to them, they were the top designer in the branch, boasting hundreds of five-star reviews — more than all the other designers combined.

A home visit followed. Measurements were taken, including one very important detail — a large structural pillar, which we pointed out clearly and repeatedly. It was noted in the design.

We agreed on the kitchen, paid, and were told we could make changes easily. Shortly after, we requested a change: swap out the larder unit for more workspace and a cupboard. “The designer” said this was no problem, revised the designs, collected updated payment, and confirmed everything was ready for delivery.

Before delivery, “the designer” asked us to leave a five-star review (another one for the collection).

But when the kitchen arrived, it was the original design — larder unit included — and the island was too large, making the layout unworkable. We contacted “the designer” several times. It took three days to get a response. He did visit in person after that to meet with our builder and fitter.

That’s when it became clear:
• The updated design was never submitted to Wickes fulfilment
• The pillar was not accounted for at all — making several units unusable
• The new layout required more worktop than what was delivered
• We were missing plinths, fixtures, and fittings
• Nearly £800 worth of items were wasted

“The designer” admitted fault but gave little else in the way of support. He went quiet again. Calls, emails, and messages to the store were ignored. At one point I joked about using a carrier pigeon or an Ouija board just to get a reply. I had to physically return to the store multiple times just to get updates.

Thankfully, Jon (store manager) and another helpful designer stepped in. They arranged refunds for the unusable items and helped correct several issues. Without them, this would’ve been a complete disaster.

We spent over £10,000 and ended up with:
• Unusable units
• Incomplete fittings
• Delays
• Stress
• And a designer more focused on chasing five-star reviews than resolving mistakes.

To “the designer”: you might consider a refresher course in kitchen measurement, design accuracy, and customer service — ideally one that includes how to spot a very obvious pillar.

To Wickes: this individual is undermining your brand. Customers deserve better — and thankfully, Jon and his team showed us that some people still care about getting it right.

good morning, i visted my local branch yesterday in Hall Green, after struggling to find what i was looking for. 2 staff members Eva and Heather came to the rescue. They helped me throughout my search of kitchen accessories, were polite and respectful. They could see i was struggling with finding accessories i needed and were very helpful. thank you to both and other staff that helped. much appreciated.

I've taken sometime to write this review mainly because it was difficult to come up with enough superlatives to describe the experience we had when buying a new kitchen from Wickes. The quality of the units, appliances and the accessories is of a very high standard, the delivery and packaging first class, but better than this was the actual design produced for us by Richard Probert. He is a true proffesional taking time to listen to our requirements and paying close attention to our budget, I fitted the kitchen myself and dimensionally it was millimetre perfect. any queries I had during the fitment Richard was on hand with expert advice. My wife and I would very much like to thank both Richard and Wickes for the whole experience

I received my kitchen and it was nothing like what was shown in my design drawing. The designer admitted to making a mistake, but by then it was too late. The kitchen had to be chopped up and reconfigured to fit the space, and it’s far from the kitchen I dreamed of or paid for.

Even worse, some items shown in the design were never delivered, and I was later told I hadn’t paid for them. Why include them in the plan at all if they weren’t part of the final quote? I’m now being asked to pay for additional items just to make the kitchen usable this feels like blatant false advertising, or worse, a trap to force you into paying more midway through when you’re stuck with a half-fitted kitchen. This is tantamount to coercion.

Ordering from Wickes has been the biggest mistake of my life. As a first-time solo homebuyer, this was meant to be a proud moment instead, it’s been heartbreaking. I’ve cried more times than I can count. They have wasted my time, my money, and ruined my kitchen.

I now have weird gaps and awkward spaces because they didn’t properly account for the layout of my walls, and the entire kitchen feels like a botched job. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

Hayley the new girl on check outs.. I thought I lost my wallet went back the store this afternoon spoke to Hayley and and Co worker who tried to help as much as possible whilst dealing with customers at the same time ! Checked everywhere for me .. return to site and found my wallet ! Buried under my tools .. Thank you again for being patient and professional young lady . Great store staff are brillant .. been shopping here the last 30 years.

Richard was firstly, extremely welcoming and had an infectious energy around him.

From that moment, we got down to the nitty gritty: the budget, the style, the appliances etc, you name it, we went through it in detail.

He’s one of the rare salesmen who has your best interest and budget at heart. He works extremely hard to get you, not only the best price but, the best quality as well.

On top of all of that, he’s a secret DANCE DJ TOO! Can this guy get any better? Make sure you ask to hear his latest music!

He’s a brilliant guy and we can’t wait to see our beautifully designed kitchen into practice.

I contacted Hall Green Wickes to arrange a design appointment. I was able to and pictures by Whatsap which saved time and Richard gave me loads of options which suited my budget. We then went for an in store appointment where Richard talked us through a range of options. We are both really happy with the service Richard has provided and are excited to get our new kitchen installed.
