I was exploring having my kitchen refurbished and looked at several companies. I had home visits from two and decided that Wickes of Rushen was the favourite.
The Design Consultant was Rachael Scott and from the home visit to my decision to place an order she was brilliant. I had hers change the original design several times which she did with patience and skill. She was extremely helpful in assisting me in choosing cabinets, worktops and tiles.
There was no attempt at a hard sell, just careful listening and gentle suggestions.
I did place an order in the end not just because of the good value of the cabinets and fitting costs but the service which Rachael provided. I highly recommend her as a credit to the Company

OK so went into the wickes in Rushden today to make a order for delivery to London. Donna was the lady who delt with me and she was very polite and helpful and made it all so easy.

Absolutely DO NOT buy a Wickes bathroom.
Wickes Rushden: Design issues from a supposedly experienced designer (including but not limited to a bath the wrong way around costing me money for extra plumbing, sending me TWO, yes two, waste kits at £125 each for a single bath, which were both incorrect anyway (the actual one I needed cost £35 and was supplied separately by my fitter)), countless damaged items, missing parts from an overly-priced shower screen, countless revisits (at an additional cost to me) for the fitters to keep coming back.
When I turned up at the store for a refund on the wastes, one was refunded but I was palmed off by saying they needed “a code” to refund the other one and to come back. When I came back the manager couldn’t get the code so two wasted journeys… it’s a refund for an incorrect item!!!!! I have consumer rights!!!!
When I complained, they inappropriately sent my complaint directly to the person I complained about breaching the furniture and home improvement ombudsman FHIO rules on impartiality because apparently “the complaints team don’t deal with complaints”.
The laugh is, three of four fitters I contacted refused to fit Wickes’s bathrooms. Stupidly, I didn’t see the light and cancel the bathroom. Lesson learned on listening to the professionals — now all four of the fitters I contacted won’t fit a wickes bathroom, as the ones I used said it’s a complete joke and they’d never do another one again...
I havent listed all the issues by the way. If you’ve got this far and you’re still thinking about going ahead, more fool you!
Annoyingly, their customer services team think it’s appropriate to ignore emails! Two weeks I’ve been chasing for missing parts for my £550 shower screen and they’ve ignored all my emails.
Do yourself a favour, save pulling your hair out and don’t bother with wickes bathrooms. Wish I’d just chosen to bath in a puddle or a nearby river instead.
What an utter disgrace the Company and the whole process has been…!

Online they're hopeless. Ordered several bags of gravel to be delivered day before the job. Local Wickes as usual doesn't have any stock so online it is. The tracking says delivered by Wincanton. Now the thing is somone was at home all day, often more than one person and we had the usual deliveries so no excuses. By 7pm no delivery and of course customer services shut. Now, I've
Got mates coming round to help do this job but no gravel and little to no help to sort this issue out. Wickes are very happy to take my money... Gravel apparently delivered according to their system. I'll let Paypal recover the money from these chancers - worst of all a complete lie about delivery, I despise liars! Wickes? never again!
Update, customer services never got back to me, 10 mins wait for return call huh? I call 3 hours later to chase up. Person I spoke to was plain rude saying I should have called the day of the missed delivery to chase it. 7am-7pm was delivery slot and no customer service response after 7pm. The bloke was just plain rude. Wickes you should listen to my calls.
I'm thoroughly peed off with how this has been handled and won't shop there. Ironically putting in a new kitchen this year and won't be asking Wickes to quote. 20.00 of lost gravel and cr@p customer service just cost you 25k ish in kitchens...

I have recently moved to Wellingborough and I have visited the Wickes in Rushden on several occasions. The staff are all lovely and helpful. However, I have to give a really special thank you to Donna, Joe and Ben. They have gone above and beyond to assist me with things I needed to do up my home. Outstanding Customer Experience at Wicks Rushden – Thanks to Adam
This morning, my grandfather purchased a lawnmower from Wicks in Rushden. He takes immense pride in his garden, but unfortunately, after assembling the mower at home, we quickly realised it wasn’t going to work for him. He has rheumatoid arthritis in his hands, and the grass collection basket was far too difficult for him to take on and off — even before he started using it. He was clearly disappointed.
We returned to the store about an hour later, and that’s when we met Adam - who was absolutely outstanding. My grandfather explained the situation, visibly deflated and a little embarrassed. Adam immediately put him at ease, listened with patience, and assured us he’d help find a more suitable option. Even though there was a queue forming, Adam delegated to another colleague so he could focus on helping us - a true example of excellent service.
Adam, brought out two alternative lawnmowers from the warehouse and asked thoughtful, practical questions to help my grandfather find something easier to manage. After some discussion, they settled on a different brand that was significantly lighter.
At this point, I asked Adam if we could purchase the new mower and then assemble it in-store, just to be sure it would be suitable - and he happily agreed. That thoughtful flexibility made such a difference.
Adam assembled the lawnmower in under 10 minutes and demonstrated how to attach and remove the grass collection box. Then, he went a step further and encouraged my grandfather to try it himself a few times right there in the store — and to everyone’s delight, he managed it easily!
Adam’s attention to detail, professionalism, and empathy turned a disappointing situation into an experience we will not forget. To top it all off, he even helped carry the mower to our car.
I’m not usually one for comparisons, but it’s worth saying that the service we received the day before at another major DIY chain was the complete opposite. Adam truly set the gold standard.
Wicks — if you’re reading this, please recognise Adam's exceptional service. He’s a credit to your store and a shining example of what a great customer experience looks like.
Thank you again, Adam. You made my grandfather’s day — and mine too.

My elderly Mother visited the Rushden store and purchased a Hozelock hose system. However there was no way she would have been able to assemble herself. She asked for help with this and very kindly Gary Ross completed the task for her & she was able to collect the following day. She was more than pleased to. Gary certainly went the extra mile. Bought 6 metre roll of radiator foil to reflect the heat, when I unrolled it the sticky pads numbered 5, it looked as if someone had torn off some pads, although the roll seal was unbroken. 5 pads were not enough to do even one radiator,really poor.

Easy. To park, easy to find and purchase what we wanted, staff friendly. The whole experience was off putting. The music in the background was not only loud, but distracting and off-putting. Only purchased absolute essentials. No browsing because of it! Awful.

Unbelievable. I went in to ask for advice on a plumbing attachment I needed to buy, only to be told they weren’t able to give advice. The attendant even went so far as to say ‘I know what fitting you need but I’m not allowed to tell you’ before walking off!
