Have been using Cult Wines for years and am always so impressed with their service. Dealing directly with Tom who is the ultimate expert! Will continue for years to come and comes with my highest recommendation.

I've been with Cult Wines since it was a an early company. Back then it went really well, with lots of attention from my client manager, who was not pushy and remained the same person for years. Early investments had a very good return. They always advised that wine did better in difficult financial times. But it grew much larger in staff as a company, and expanded world wide. The personal attention reduced enormously. In the last few years, I accept that times have been hard for them but staff changed again and again and replies were slow and few. We all had to accept a whole new customer charges system which meant we were paying out monthly whilst stock was not growing in value. A final request to sell up took over 9 months to complete. It was only with very recent new staff that the service improved. A single buyer bought it all at a shortfall rate for me. Promised payment dates were never achieved. After several contacts one person, Aarash, made a big difference. He apologised for the poor treatment and arranged a final payment within a few weeks. I am happy to be out of the system and hope they can turn this around with at least new and better customer care and courtesy.... which I finally received.

More than a year ago my portfolio was liquidated with a loss. I then repeatedly asked for the cash balance to be returned to me and Cultwines client manager kept promising that payment was on its way but one bad excuse after another kept coming for months. Eventually I received half the balance but I am still waiting for the other half. I have spoken to various industry players and they all confirm that Cultwines has been known for a while to have serious liquidity issues, even after a round of new investments last year. Do not invest with this company.

I have been investing in Cult Wines for a couple of years, bumpy ride but overall good experience. The recent change in management was a great choice, our new manager Jessie is being responsive and helpful.

Warning Cult wines takes forever to pay you back. They claim they only process payment every Friday and there is a significant backlog of people waiting to get paid. DO NOT trust this company. It took several months to get the money back. Dishonest and unprofessional

I invested in a wine portfolio through wineinvestment.com (Cult Wines) since 2018. In the first half of 2024, part of my portfolio was liquidated, yet the corresponding funds have not been transferred to my account despite ongoing promises from company representatives.
Key issues:
Lack of transparency: The company claims the delay is due to buyers who have not completed payments. However, no concrete timelines or buyer details have been provided.
Failure to meet obligations: Over 47 cases of wine were reportedly sold, yet I have not received any funds. An additional 15 cases remain unsold with no clarity on when they will be liquidated.
This situation raises serious doubts about the professionalism and reliability of Cult Wines as an investment service provider. If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action and share my negative experience more widely to warn other investors.
I do not recommend working with this company! While the investment opportunities may seem attractive, my experience shows that retrieving your funds is a long and frustrating process.

We’ve been very happy with the performance of our Cult Wines portfolio so far, currently valued at £37.3k from an initial investment of £25k. Recently they have added some features to their website which allow us to view bids against our wines, which isn’t something we were necessarily looking for but helps to establish options on sales. In November we took delivery of some wines to enjoy this Festive Period which have been delicious so far and may not make it to Christmas at this rate!

I have been a customer of Cult Wines since 2014. Joe helped me build a portfolio that invested in several different types of wine to diversify some risk and has performed well over the years retruning about 55% at peak and 30% in the current market downturn when I needed to sell. There have been a number of difficult ecomonic factors recently that have caused CW issues when large amounts of customers are liquidating at once and has taken longer than I would have liked to liquidate. During the process, CW defintiely could of communicated better and helped my sales. They have responded well recently now that they are through what seems like the tough market conditions and some internal operational issues. If you are experiencing similar issues do get in contact with them. I have now liquidated most of my portfolio but continue to be a customer as I will invest again at some point. From speaking with Joe I can see the improvements being made to customer experience which is great to see.

Like many other of their customers, extreme dissatisfaction when trying to liquidate the portfolio and withdraw cash - it's been almost one year and still waiting. Many lies and excuses.

Paul Declerk and Arash were good to their words in what is a difficult market for them . Everything they said would happen did happen.

My wife and I received a Cult
Wines portfolio as a wedding gift a few years ago, and we recently decided to sell and cash it in. The team provided us with a cash offer that allowed for a quick exit. The offer was about 10% below the online valuation. We made a net return of over 40%. It was a small portfolio. Overall, we're very happy with the outcome.

I've been with Cult Wines since 2015 and I have found them to be excellent. What you get from Cult that you don't get from others is that they will constantly look for market opportunities to trade your portfolio. Other wine merchants want to constantly sell you wine (which is fine and I buy lots through them too). But Cult treat this as an investment only and so actively tell you what to sell and when, and then make it happen so you have cash to re-invest. Their market intelligence is superb and I've had great customer service too. In my time I've asked to sell wine and take the cash, and move wine to elsewhere, and they've always acted immediately and without delay. I'm happy to highly recommend them.

It’s been more than 5 years since my initial investment made back in 2019. My portfolio grew quite impressively during the pandemic years, although with some market drawdown from year 2023, the team at Cult wines has been consistently doing a professional job to ensure the maximum performances of the investment. The digital experience with its app had also been improved, I’ve topped up some more investments while the market is in the low, hope we can celebrate together in the near future.

Our experiences with Cult Wines has been great since we started dealing with them around 6 years ago. We’ve bought a number of great wines and attended their events, which have been very engaging and informative. Thank you!

Aug 27th: I am actively enquiring to authorities in Japan as to Cult Wines' legal status to operate in Japan.
In addition, I have proceeded with a lawsuit in order to get my investment back
Aug 22nd: Received an email from their CRO threatening to cancel the contract and dump my wine stock on me without selling it.
All this because they can't sell a few cases of wine in 10 months.
July 26th: I put in a sell request in November 2023 explaining due to personal circumstances, I needed to liquidate assets ASAP.
In that time, just 1/5 of the portfolio has been sold, at an average 9% loss. That's before even factoring in the monthly fees.
Not once has the point of contact proactively reached out - I have had to demand an update every time, and every time I get fobbed off.
Most recently they gave several poor options, including a cash offer for 25% less than the current portfolio value. 25% off a portfolio already in the red, and excluding fees!
Do not invest with Cult - you will be sending money into a blackhole.
UPDATE - I had a quick reply after this post and spoke at length with A G at Cult Wines who explained the difficulties that they (along with similar businesses) had been having and the lessons that had been learnt re customer communication and response times. I pointed out that investors are aware of market changes and being upfront re liquidity and sale times would have been more useful rather than ignoring emails. Hopefully things will improve. Payment went into our account today (30th July). Overall, in the 8 years we have invested with them we have been happy with the results, and it was disappointing to have had this poor service. We are still invested with them and are looking forward to an improved level of customer interaction.
Very poor - ie none - follow up on emails and phone calls. £8500 worth of wine sold on 6th March '24. Numerous emails and calls with vague promises for payment "next Friday" "accounts will revert" "we are dealing with many customers" blah blah. Now into August and still nothing. I have issued a 'Letter of Claim' notice and will be issuing proceedings against them in the County Court. I can only surmise that they are struggling and would advise any potential investors to do serious due diligence on them.

Wine investment has been through a tough time over the past couple of years but things seem to be improving now finally. Whilst there have been some problems with releasing funds on sale of product, our Relationship Manager, Paul, has been very helpful and remedied the issue to our full satisfaction. He is good to work with, always available and keeps us up to date with advice on our investment.
