I bought a property trough from them, I have appointed a solicitor and paid their fee , sorted out mortgage paid valuation and searches on the property and they sold the property to someone else, lost thousands in fees , they didn’t even call me to tell me what was going on, i had to go to property to find out what was going on! Winkworth Crediton have failed to do their due diligence and are about to ruin my chain, all because they never established communication with one of the main parties involved with the property they are selling! I am 2 weeks away from my final move date an no exchange has been made because they cannot make contact with one of the sellers. I had the same issue back in November and instead of them getting all the legal documents to sign to this person they have waited this late to chase him for the signature on the exchange! I am lost for words! I spent 2 days trying to get hold of someone to talk to about this matter. Terrible at answering phones and terrible at managing the sale of their property!

My experience with Winkworth Fulham has been deeply disappointing. Shortly after moving into a property in mid-October, I discovered that construction noise from the ground floor was unbearable, making it impossible to study or rest. This construction, as confirmed by workers, had started months earlier, yet this critical information was never disclosed to us before signing the tenancy agreement.

When I raised this issue, Winkworth not only denied knowledge of the construction but also showed no intention of helping resolve the matter. At a meeting I attended, I was faced with three representatives who seemed solely focused on defending the company’s interests rather than addressing my concerns. The lack of empathy, understanding, and professionalism in handling this situation has been shocking.

I cannot recommend Winkworth based on this experience. Transparency and support for tenants are basic expectations, and unfortunately, Winkworth failed on both counts.

I've relied on six different estate agents over the years and these were hands down the best. Skilled, honest, and absolutely committed. Ours was a complex transaction, we made it to completion due to their immense hard work, they never skipped a day in supporting me and chased and negotiated with everyone in the chain until we got there! Couldn't have done it without them - thank you.

Winkworth Greenwich were an absolutely fantastic team to work with. Very positive experience - John and Guy were both very helpful throughout the process. They were regularly checking in with me and the seller if things are on track and were answering my questions. I was part of the chain, the sale process involved multiple parties and they brought it to a successful end despite few challenges on the way. I highly recommend.

Have worked with John Mook on several properties over the years and he is honest and straight talking, which you don't find much in agency these days. Highly recommend.

I engaged the Leigh on Sea branch to sell my late Mum’s flat, the market at the time was depressed, thanks to Liz and Kwazi, so I decided to rent it out for six months, the letting side were excellent, thanks Lucie, if anything needed doing to the flat they told me what was needed and saw that it was carried out swiftly.
The eventual sale was tortuous, thanks in no small part to the freeholders solicitor and the directors operating in a parallel universe, but Winkworth settled the buyers nerves and the deal was done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paul, Mark and the rest of the team for getting me across the line.

It has been over 3 weeks since we vacated our rental property and we haven't been repaid our deposit. Apparently Winkworth can't contact our landlord.

They also tried to change the check-in report to make it look like the flat was in a better condition when we moved in than it actually was.

I can't speak highly enough of the care we got from the team at Winkworths in Greenwich. Both Guy Epps and John Mook were a very safe pair of hands guiding the process from start to finish. Their wealth of knowledge of the business, supply of interested and engaged buyers and cheerful and attentive communication - light touch nudging and steering when needed - was a great example of what a difference having really professional estate agents can make. Plus they are really great guys to work with - would wholeheartedly recommend.

Great if you are a landlord, awful if you are a tenant.
Trying to raise prices as much as possible, siding with the landlord at every possible opportunity. Two years ago we signed the contract and then Winkworth / the landlord decided not to sign their part until 1 week before moving 'just in case the previous tenants decide not to leave or something'. Were left in a difficult situation as I was moving in with my partner and we both gave notices in our places with the fear that if something went wrong these guys wouldn't have the contract signed.

Tried to hike my rent by another 7% after in year for an already overinflated price which had raised by ~20% before I moved in.

They also sublet any property management so if you have a problem in the building they do nothing because they just delegate to a 3rd company. Only bother if the issue is inside the flat.
Not worse than other agencies though, and that is the problem, this is the situation in England...

Having used this office for many years, but now under new ownership with Winkworth, I automatically used then again when looking for a new tenant for my one bedroom mews house in Crediton.
I took them 12 weeks to find a suitable replacement tenant, meaning the property was empty for 10. I did need and made use of 2 weeks for redecoration etc. but in effect missed out on 8 weeks of income. Will not use again.

Aaron, Shaun and the team at Winkworth worked to hard to find our family the perfect short term rental solution. They were responsive, helpful and genuinely cared about meeting our needs. Thanks team for making what could have been a very stressful time, as smooth and easy as possible!
