I had a problem with a Withings scale about a year ago. I contacted the support. And I have received a new device very quick. Now there is problem with the retraction of the handle bar. I contacted su... See more

Withings U Scan
Update on U Scan. Today is the 25 February 26, still no progress from the first Trust pilot review.
Absurdity of recovering data
I recently had one of the most absurd customer support experiences I’ve ever encountered, and unfortunately it involved Withings.
For years I have used a Withings smart scale and stored personal health data in my account. One day I suddenly lost access. The system started asking for a code from Microsoft Authenticator — something I never remember setting up. Since then I have been completely locked out of my account and all my historical data.
So I contacted support.
At first the chatbot asked me to log in (which is impossible if you cannot log in). After navigating that loop, I finally reached a human agent. The agent confirmed my email address and sent a verification code to my mailbox, which I provided immediately.
Then the “identity verification process” began.
I provided:
• my full name
• my email address
• my date of birth
• my gender
• the device model (Withings Body Smart)
• the number of devices on the account
• photos of my government ID (both sides)
Yes — they actually required a government-issued ID just to access my own health data stored in their system.
After providing all of that, the support agent informed me that my account still could not be recovered unless I also provided the month and year when I installed the device on my account.
Not purchased. Not activated recently. The exact month and year when the first device was installed — years ago.
I explained that this is impossible for many customers. What if someone bought the device in a shop, paid cash, and no longer has the receipt? Human memory does not work like a database.
Apparently that does not matter.
Despite verifying my identity, providing official identification, and answering every question they asked, the entire process came down to one thing: remembering a specific month from years ago.
If you cannot remember it, you cannot access your account.
Even more confusing: the support agent insisted that I personally enabled multi-factor authentication, even though I have no recollection of doing so and never received any confirmation email about such a change.
When I pointed out that their own privacy policy guarantees the right to access personal data, the response was essentially: contact legal if you disagree.
In other words:
You can prove who you are.
You can provide your ID.
You can verify your email.
You can confirm your device.
But if you cannot remember the month when you first installed a scale years ago, your data remains locked.
After all this, the conversation ended with: “We will forward your case to senior support. There is no estimated time for a response.”
No solution. No recovery. No access to my own data.
For a company dealing with sensitive health information, this is not security — this is simply dysfunctional customer support.
Not the company it used to be.
Not the company it used to be.
I have used Withings in the past and had previously found their products and service to be good, to the point I have previously recommended the company to family and friends.
Therefore when I needed a new health watch I thought I’d try their new model; costing about £500.
After waiting over a week for news; I chased up the order. After 30 minutes of AI nonsense saying they had issues with shipping, I waited for a human. Over an hour later and after multiple requests for their complaints process to be provided as the human (Eman) contradicted himself and came across as duplicitous; I was not given the complaints process or email; instead I was sent back to the bland ‘help page’.
All I wanted was a genuine update on expected delivery times; but this seems too much nowadays for Withings. If I ever receive the order (which seems doubtful) I will be returning it, cancelling my subscription and seeking out an alternative with a reliable company.
This is so disappointing… as I actually respected the brand before this experience.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. They charged my card and simultaneously cancelled my order, and then told me to take it up with my bank. You will sit there for hours and get nowhere.
No blood pressure tracking on scan watch?
When I bought my watch a few years ago it was because it had a basic tracking for blood pressure. I used to have to calibrate it monthly against the cuff to retain any degree of accuracy.
Turning it back on today the software updated and the blood pressure feature is gone. Very disappointed.
Poor Service on returning a faulty watch
I purchased a watch which I was very happy with until it failed and started to show signs of water ingress.
After protracted webchats and emails with Withings Customer Service, they agreed to replace the watch. However, it first had to be returned to Paris, using Yodel.
I returned the watch using Yodel as instructed. However, they must be the worst courier service in existence and have lost the watch.
This lead to a series of communications with Yodel, who informed me that this loss now had to be dealt with by Whitings.
Since this I have spent hours on web chats with Whitings Customer service.
The details of the first attempt resulted in a promise to revert to me. This never occurred, and details of the chat were never sent to my email.
The second chat started with numerous pointless questions being asked which, after in excess of an hour on line, have resulted in the same promise to revert with a solution. While the details of the chat have been emailed, I do not hold out hope.
In short, the Whitings Customer Service line is of variable quality. It takes far too long to elicit responses. The absence of a monitored customer service email, leads to using this inadequate web chat service. The Yodel service is appalling.
I sincerely doubt that I will ever consider buying another Whitings product.
Order processing is a mess! Order placed, delivery date unknown, can’t get any update .
After placing an order I have no update when it will be shipped. It’s a week now. Can’t contact a human being and the website & Ai chat are worse than useless. Can’t cancel the order either. The automated system says refuse delivery if you want to cancel but delivery is unknown and money has been paid. Loop!!
Terrible customer services from the…
Terrible customer services from the outset. Firstly delay in delivery. Product (watch) very poor functioning, so decided to return under their returns policy using their returns system. ... courier lost the return & withings chatbot can't sort a refund. I will avoid purchasing anything from this company.
Shipment not received and when I…
Shipment not received and when I contact the company they cannot give me any information. They just say "warehousing issues"
All perfect
All perfect. Nice products and even problems with the watch could’ve sorted after some time
Easy to order
Easy to order. All the information I required was available to make my purchase.
Disgraceful
I've just tried to use the withings app - it appears to have been updated and all the access to my commonly used data has disappeared and I'm being prompted to pay for a very expensive subscription service. Wtf.
health data suddenly gone, no help
My health data suddenly disappeared from the Withings app. After my ScanWatch unregistered itself and I re-added it, large portions of historical data were missing, and I later found the same issue with my Body Scan scale. Different data types now stop at different dates, suggesting a backend/account problem, not unsynced data. I contacted support, got an automated “24h” reply, then was told my ticket was already closed and there would be no response. Posting this as a warning: don’t assume your data are safe, and don’t expect support if something goes wrong.
App is rubbish
Withings scale is fine, appears to work as expected. App is total rubbish. Depending on where you click, you can be both losing and gaining weight for the same period. Body composition analysis is nonsense.
Think. Any problems, no help. Purchase a new one.
I loved the look of my smart watch BUT after a year or so a crack appeared on the face that grew over time. It was never hit.
Reviews indicated this occurs.
There is NO ONE in Australia to service these watches. Your contact with Withings is a BOT. Beware.
They offered me a 25% discount on a new watch. That's buying through them or at one of their listed overseas locations. Australia is not on the list.
Not even at an Australian store that stocks them.
So if you purchase a Withings smart watch once there is a problem, no help.
Buy a new watch is their recommendation. Au$700 every few years. No thanks.
SCAMMER - AVOID !!
Absolute scammers !!!
Offer a 7 day ‘FREE’ trial and then steal money from your account that same day.
When you try to get a refund literally minutes later they’re not interested and tell you to take it up with Apple
Terrible Customer Service
Don't bother.
Trust me, just don't bother.
Any redeeming features the devices may have are completely tanked by crap customer service, cluttered Ui .
You'll knock years off your life using these things.
The phone app stinks
The phone app stinks! Cannot find recent ECG and therefore cannot export it to computer.
When it works all good and clever but..
When it works all good and clever. But unexpected nonsense that seems to want to re install app tonight. Beware there is ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe they only speak French? This leaves Withings scales utterly useless- I suggest avoid their products
So angry...
Bought a smart scale 18 months ago
Bought a smart scale 18 months ago. No problem with the scale itself, but you really need the app to get full use out of it . The app however is beyond useless. I need the data to manage a chronic health condition, but it has lost it all. This means that I would actually have been better off with a cheap scale and a note book. Save your money.
