This course has more than met my expectations and it has certainly given me the inspiration and motivation I needed to get started on my writing projects.  What I also loved about this course is that although it is aimed at writers who is interested in writing books for children, the information covered can easily be applied to other categories, i.e adult fiction as well.

The information I received throughout the modules helped me finish my book! The information inspired many new ideas to add to my book for completion. The only concern I have is that the publishing information in the last module was mostly geared towards Great Britain and Europe. The steps in writing the query letter and manuscript are different than the ones I got from an American view point. I will contact each publisher to make sure I send the correct information and in the correct protocol.

I'm living in Texas, U.S. You made me think 'more' about my story. This is the most important part of your total message. Thanks.
One suggestion I have is that your information needs to be directed to the country that you are speaking to. The schools, clubs, licensing information, needs to be directed at the country participating in your class. I will do my best to find the resources here in the United States to help me.

Thoroughly enjoyed each module of the course. It was important to take notes, not so much for the exams, but for the invaluable tips, suggestions, ideas and pure information. The course made me think about my writings, my characters, and how I move my stories along. Besides all that the course was interesting and fun to do.

Informative and easy to complete, this was a great choice for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, had my emails replied to promptly, and learned a lot. I would recommend this to friends.

I found this course very helpful and enjoyable. I have taken a lot of information on board that will really improve my writing; particularly the importance of research and planning. I found some of the questions a bit misleading and would have liked to be tested in more varied ways than simply the multi choice questions at the end of each module.

This course would help anyone interested in writing for any age. The modules are well prepared. I enjoyed the course. However, it would have been more fun to have a few graphics or videos of real people explaining things to the student. The Groupon discount was all I needed to get on board and just do it! I began the Young Adult Fiction course and Writing for Kindle right away. It is mostly videos which is a pleasant break. Thank you.

The standard of online-courses can be hugely variable, and unless you know about the company in advance, it can be a risky 'investment'. I feel I was lucky here: this course was carefully structured, and very thorough. I now have access to information which is not readily available elsewhere.

The Modules were written in an immediately accessible tone; there were plenty of illustrations and examples; each was logical and easy to follow; every segment was packed with useful advice.

The things that have hitherto stopped me from plunging fully into the pool of publishing opportunities in children's literature (indeed, any form of publishing!) were tackled in detail. I now know much more than I did about how to present a manuscript professionally, where to do research on publishers' needs, how to tailor my material to the market, what 'beginner's mistakes' to avoid ...

I have only very minor niggles: in the final module, under the heading "Marketing is your responsibility", it seemed that this page had been inserted out of order - there was a disconnect, and I think it should have appeared under "Vanity Publishing". Likewise, in a section urging us to be extra careful in our use of English, I came across the phrase "One of the most common....." - has the superlative adjective been abolished? Why not just "One of the commonest...." ?

Overall, keen writers will have much to gain from taking on board all the suggestions in topics covered in this course. It seems it really is possible, with passion and accuracy, to have realistic aspirations to become an author. I have more hope now than at any time in my life !

Except for two of chapters I felt were a little too long and hard to focus on, this course was great. I learned so much.

I think for anybody looking to at least know the in's and outs of what it is like to become a writer for children's books this is a great knowledgeable course to do. The modules are informative and fun ,and the quizzes at the end of each module gives you the oppurtunity to evaluate your answers..It was simple and easy to navigate , and with a service ticket for problems ,the staff were quick to respond. Overall I would recomend this course.

The Write Stories for Children course was very extensive and well laid out. I especially liked when examples were given. I liked that I could start and stop when I wanted. I didn't like that I had to do the modules in a prescribed order. I didn't like that I had to write a test before going on to next module. Some times, I just wanted to read and read, and not concentrate on a test, but I couldn't keep reading without doing the test. Also, I will NEVER write science-fiction so I had no desire to read about it, let alone write a test on it before moving on to something that I am interested in learning about. Also, I don't live in the United Kingdom, so the references to resources there, were completely irrelevant to me. I did appreciate the advice that was given, especially sections such as "common mistakes", etc. Overall, very enjoyable.

This course had very little information in it. I finished it within a week. It wasn't even worth the discounted price I paid. It was was riddled with both spelling and grammatical errors. For a writing course this is just unacceptable. Very poorly done.

I really enjoyed taking this course. Its clear and friendly approach helped me gain all the information needed to successfully write and get published. It was easy to follow and very encouraging!

I enjoyed the overall experience of this course. I found it informative with lots of handy hints on how to go about actually getting your work published as I`m sure there must be many people who write a book and it sits in a drawer.
I particularly appreciated the option to buy the accompanying book as it meant i could read it on the train etc (I don`t tend to take a lap top around with me). The only module I did not enjoy was the Non-fiction but this is just a personal thing as I have no interest in writing this style of book. The module was still set out in a comprehensive way.

My only criticism is the idea being put across that "anyone" can become a writer. It seems slightly disrespectful to people who are successful and talented authors. That however is a small issue and it is likely that it was meant as words of encouragement.
Overall a great learning experience and I have began writing my Young Adult Novel with all your advice in mind.

I started the course like many probably do, scratching out story ideas on lunch hours and telling them to my children at night. Becoming an actual author was always a dream. But, just a dream. After the course, I am actively taking steps to become a professional author. The material is practical and inspirational. Though I am in the US, the material was still relevant. Though I would have loved to have more material dedicated to my preferred audience, the preschool set, I appreciate the broad treatment of each age group. I enjoyed the way the material was presented and looked forward to each new session. thank you.

This is a very good course if one has the aptitude to complete it. Personally I did not enjoy the module dealing with screenplays, I felt it was irrelevant in this course.
However, the course covered pretty much everything I hoped for and much that I didn't think about before. It means having to re-write my original children's story but that is not a bad thing (as I learned in Module 13 and 14). Considering the effort that went into the compilation of this course I feel it only fair to double my own efforts. I hope to make the team at WSBC proud of me very soon.

I am glad I took this class. I could not stop since the first day I started module 1. I wish I have taken this class before self publishing my first book.

So far so good! I have only been doing this course for a few week but I am really enjoying it. There is a vast amount of useful information that you can complete at your own pace, (there is no time limit). The pages and information provided very easy to navigate through. Loads of downloads are avaliable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to start writing, I only wish that I had found this course years ago.
