The course is essentially slideshows, and each module is marked by a multiple choice test to show you were paying attention. It is full of useful advise and interesting ideas I wish I had learnt earlier.

Negatives: The science Fiction and Fantasy module seems to have been written with little understanding of the genres themselves. It's as if the writer found their information on wikipedia. There are also some spelling and grammatical errors in the first few modules.

Ultimately I feel able to go out there and write, knowing good strategies.

Enjoyed the course. I hadn't appreciated just how much planning and preparation was required before letting the creative juices flow.

I was at first a bit skeptical to sign up for the course but after I did it was well worth it. I learnt a lot and enjoyed it.

This course has truly helped me with my writing. It has answered many of my questions and enlightened me on things I didn't know. I feel so much more confident in my writing because of this course and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to become a children's author. This was an enjoyable way to start each morning. Most of the modules were full of interesting and useful information, especially with the more technical side of submitting work.
The online tests were a bit hit and miss and infuriatingly, on the ipad the wrong answer kept being highlighted, but that's more my thick fingers fault.
Some of the pages were out of order and I don't like advertising, but neither fault was sufficient to really detract from the fun.
Overall I really enjoyed this and can see each module being a useful reference point.

This course is definitely worth it! There is so much i have learned so far and im excited about finishing the course and getting started on my books. The information provided touches on everything related to Childrens books and it will be beneficial to anyone that wants to pefect their craft.

I liked the content and organization of the course. I learned some important "insider tips" to use when refining my first piece.

This was a really interesting and well-planned course, although I wish it had been tailored for a North American audience. Many of the references were not applicable to me and I was left unsure about whether some of the info (for example, standard publishing practices) pertained to Canadian publishing houses as well. However, with regards to the actual manuscript planning and creative writing tips in general, the information was very thorough and quite helpful.

The material in the writing course was interesting, helpful and well presented. The learning process was enjoyable. The tests were sensible, not too hard but also not overly easy. It was well worth doing, and I recommend it, as long as you avoid the only slightly annoying pressure tactics to buy more services.

The course is very informative and enjoyable, but the modules are quite lengthy. You can't complete one is one sitting, which is a problem for me, a senior citizen. Even though I have had two books published and have two more ready to go, I find this course very helpful. I am learning a number of new things. Yes, I did teach writing to low-level high school students;and yes I belong to a writing group that includes continuing education as part of our meetings, but I am finding there is a great deal more that I can learn myself. Try it. You'll like it!

Full of information and guidance, this course is an outstanding value if you are able to obtain a discounted price. Had I paid the listed price I doubt I would be as positive here at the beginning of the path. The course is easily completed within a month's time, even while working full time. The most outstanding part of it for me was the encouragement regarding creativity. I have always said I am not very creative. The course pushed me past that mind-set to realize that anyone is creative when working hard with eyes wide open.

I am a published writer in non-fiction (adult) and educational materials. I have 2 young children and being a fan of such books at Harry Potter, found this course to be informative, fun and of assistance in grasping a better in-depth knowledge of writing/publishing in other markets. As a published author in North America, i found some of the terms and questions slightly different from the UK market (hence some of my mistakes as i related them to Canadian and US concepts), but came out with an excellent perspective and will certainly sign up for your other writing programs and courses. Very happy and pleased with this online course. It did not take a lot of my time and I had a lot of fun taking the time to myself to go through it. Thank you

I personally typed over 10 pages of notes from this course and felt it was very thorough in all areas. Very well presented even if most of the references are in England. Still very helpful for folks in the U.S.

I did not expect the course to be as comprehensive as it was. After all, I paid for it with a Groupon voucher and was a bit skeptical. I was soon relieved to experience top-quality materials I can transfer into my personal and professional development.

There were some spelling errors in the courses. But overall it was extremely educational!

The first module is interesting and after that it is the equivalent of reading a book. The test are ridiculous and you are not able to jump from module to module. For example: I have no interest in Science Fiction but had to complete the module before I could go on to the next one. They are always trying to sell you something else, in the resource area.
