Ballowfield Barn Carperly North Yorkshire. Beautiful location. Warm, homely, comfortable cottage with lovely views. Had the best nights sleeps in the comfiest of beds. Would definitely stay here again.

Ingrid Flute was a great company, and we enjoyed many years letting cottages from them in Whitby.
However, they seem to have been taken over by Original Cottages, and the customer service has nose-dived.
We were let a cottage next to one which was being renovated, with no warning or apology as to the constant noise. Complaints are simply ignored.

Not a good experience, the Windmill was not overly clean, lots dead flies in one bedroom on arrival day. One bed not made. The dish drainer was dirty to a standard of disgusting, as was the washing up sponge. Kitchen utensils kept in a cardboard box in a cupboard, not very hygienic! Wall hanging that says ‘Be nice or leave’ don’t worry, will not be going there again A huge costly disappointment in the Windmill. Would not go there again.

We were disappointed by our recent stay in Sea Salt cottage in Whitby eg. Items missing from the property, shabby/shoddy furniture, windows that wouldn’t open, parking facilities not adequately nor correctly described. As advised by an employee in the local office I have emailed Ingrid Flute Holiday Cottages (twice) regarding these issues, and as yet, four weeks later I have received no reply, not even an acknowledgement of my message. Hugely disappointed and won’t be using them again.

After five weeks I have received acknowledgment of my complaints and have accepted compensation as offered.

Beautiful location friendly village with all amenities required for a week away.

Beautiful property well kept and very central to places to visit, a must is the Black Bull pub which serves fantastic food and the staff are great.

Easy booking process and I was kept very well informed on the lead up to leaving home. Excellent description of the cottage on website. Very well equipped. Welcome tray was a lovely touch even though we were only staying the weekend. Home from home. Beautiful views from every window even in the snow. Will definitely return.

A well presented and equipped property in a great location. We were able to access walks, eateries and shops with ease. Every comfort and convenience was catered for. Everything was of a high standard at the property. A lovely stay.

Mullions, Buckden, North Yorkshire

This cottage is well located, suitable for walks in the local area, visiting local villages, and with an excellent pub nearby.

However, anyone considering staying at this property needs to be aware that during our stay we found it under-maintained and poorly serviced.

On arrival, we found the kitchenette floor flooded. We hoped that this had just been an over-enthusiastic clean prior to our arrival - but soon discovered that it was coming from a leak behind the washing machine. This area was then unusable for the rest of the stay.

On our first full day, we found the bath outflow pipe was broken - flooding the bathroom floor and the kitchen below. This was later fixed only to find that the exterior pipe was also broken and dirty bath water now flowed down the kitchen window.

The main issue was the heating system. Noisy when we first arrived we soon found that this wasn't down to simply being an old property. The boiler was unpressurised, the radiators almost empty. The noise increased - waking us at 6:30am every morning, with steam coming from the tank in one of the bedrooms. A handyman came to fix but only patched for 24 hours before the issue returned. A pipe eventually came loose - so we had no choice but to turn the heating off and be cold.

Inside the property it notes that the area has a risk of Legionnaires disease and that the water system will be flushed prior to each guests arrival. This was clearly not done as this property had not seen maintenance in some time.

There is no landline and no phone signal at the property, so finding an alternative place to stay was not an option.

We raised our concerns on day one, a handyman came but only applied cursery patches that lasted 24 hours.

Initially the company offered us a token equivalent of one night's stay out of 7. After escalating for several weeks we have finally had them agree to less than a 50% refund which we do not find acceptable given the nature of the issues as a result of their failure to service and maintain.

I would be concerned about staying in any of their properties if this is the standard that they hold themselves to where others would be ashamed at giving a customer this experience.

Easy to book and brilliant communication about stay details, travel directions all made for a really lovely holiday. The accommodation itself was lovely, clean, well equipped and in a fab location and we’ll definitely be going back to starlight cottage

Milk maid cottage was a pretty little cottage perfect for 2 and our dog. Very clean and cosy. Well fitted kitchen. Log burner made it very cosy. Located right next to the picturesque beck in Hawes. Wonderful clear starlit skies.

Great location in a peaceful and quaint village lovely cottage ideal for people with mobility issues

Great property. Well positioned for access to Hawes and Wharfedale. The set up of the cottage works well for a family, with facilities for both teens, and smaller children. And having access to the garage works well when returning with a wet dog!
