Lovely property full of character
Lovely clean property, full of character and well equipped. Beautiful scenery all around, but a car is necessary for getting to civilization.
Games room disappointing as pool table only had half a set of balls so not able to play.
Everything else great

A very disappointing week at the Nook, Robin Hoods Bay
A very disappointing week at the Nook. On arrival we identified six significant failings of the property and notified the agent. Most noticeable and annoying was a pair of gulls nesting on the conservatory roof who objected noisily to our use of the garden. Whilst accepting that it was too late to move them during our stay this should not have been allowed to happen. The property had an uncared for feeling with poor equipment and management - dryer not working, Sky remote from the stone age not working, light bulbs not working etc. It should not be up to visitors to tell the agent all the property failings. The response to our requests for action was limited and our request for a rebate on the rental was refused. Overall Ingrid Flute's performance was shoddy.
From original online booking through…A staycation to remember
From original online booking through arrival and enjoyment of first class facilities this was a hugely enjoyable experience. As first time visitors to Whitby we cannot praise the town, amenities, and the surrounding area too highly. Eating out was a delight with many varied food types (not just fish and chips) all of a high quality. We will return and would highly recommend a Whitby visit to everyone.

Daisy Cottage in Hinderwell - charming and comfortable in the heart of the village,
Daisy Cottage in Hinderwell is a beautifully presented property in the centre of a friendly and well served village - restaurant, pub, butcher's/general store, coastal bus service and excellent village hub in the "Old School". The cottage is very well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Binkleys Cottage has amazing views from…
Binkleys Cottage has amazing views from the property. Really peaceful and quiet in a remote location. Very helpful on arrival. Kitchen was well equipped. Unfortunately the garden wasn’t fully dog proof as the fences were quite low and made of wire, close supervision required.

I rented Rendezvous Cottage
I rented Rendezvous Cottage, Whitby via Ingrid Flute April 2022 on Airbnb.
Ingrid Flute’s Yorkshire Holiday Cottages (The Original Cottage Company Limited) reportedly applies a Quality Assurance Scheme and 4 stars has been awarded to this property. I consider 4 stars to be substantial misrepresentation of the property’s quality and the services supplied. Specifically, Revendezvous Cottage did not meet the most basic of cleanliness standards and neither did this company adequately address our subsequent customer concerns.
To list some the concern passed to them.
A) Dead flowers on the kitchen table upon arrival.
B) Work surfaces had not been cleaned.
C) The dishwasher was left full of dishes, and whilst clean we had no way of knowing how long they had been left in the machine.
D) Surfaces and many other areas were covered in dust and cobwebs
E) The cooker was dirty.
F) Sofas and seats were dirty with dust and grime.
G) Mirrors were filthy.
H) Windows were filthy.
I) Shower curtain had significant mould/ dirt.
J) Shower leaked significantly onto the floor whilst in use.
The company has chosen to blame us for not advising them of the poor standard of cleaning upon our arrival. We arrived at 6 pm on Saturday after their office had closed. We cleaned where appropriate so that we did not have to incur further disruption. Departing visitors are told to leave by 9 am and the keys cannot be collected until after 4 pm. This gives them substantial time to ensure a property is properly cleaned and inspected.
Whether you are a customer or property owner represented by this company, you should be very concerned about their poor service standards.

Don’t stay here even if its the last place in Whitby available.
Booked for xmas and new year, due to covid and a so called premium property we paid a staggering £1,000 for a cottage which was nothing like the photographs on the booking agents website and did not match the written description either. The marina isn't opposite and the beach is much further than on the doorstep, no parking, nowhere to unload, located to the rear and above the chip shop, no enclosed garden and certainly not pet friendly. A wooden grate covering a six foot wide hole with a ten foot drop down to the chip shop in the so called garden is very dangerous as it was unfixed when we stayed. The smell of rotting fish and burnt oil penetrates inside the cottage 24hours a day and overall its very unkempt outside.
Dirty, smelly, all furnishings in disrepair, dangerous and unfit for purpose throughout, had no working TV, unable to cook xmas dinner or any other meals due to oven setting off the smoke alarm. Bathroom glass shower door hanging by one screw very tentatively, did not use bathroom either. Booked to limit the amount of time spent with friends and family who live locally, both my sons stayed with them and all plans had to be changed due to the state of this property and the filth particularly as the rules around how clean it was supposed to be as per covid guidelines.
Ingrid Flute do not own this property, they are the booking agent. The owner will not rectify any issues you have during your stay despite being in the terms and conditions, once you enter the booking agents will not assist you. We supplied 57 photographs, made 4 phone calls, sent 7 emails from Xmas day to New Years Eve.
Booked this place as it was the only accommodation available in Whitby, having no TV and no oven for the entire stay basically ruined this much needed break away due to being in very poor health and disabled, all of which was shared with the agents and owners prior to making the booking. On Boxing day afternoon the owner offered to reimburse us if we checked out there and then, this wasn't possible, he then offered £100 compensation for all of the above issues mentioned, however we checked out and declined this ridiculous offer and sought legal advice, we could get a refund through money claim on line, however the agents will not give the owners address in order we can process the claim. Life is too short to waste on pursuing this matter. We hope however this factual account will deter anyone booking this property in the future and happy to share the photographs which show the property in its true state.

Regarding the reply below from Ingrid Flute this a complete fabrication from themselves, the homeowner had covid. The property they themselves offered to move me and my carer to was 28th December, ironically called “Arguments Yard”, one bedroom flat with a shower, no garden and totally unsuitable for my disability and health. Ingrid Flute were informed of this fact and offered no other alternative, this is factual and documented in many emails.

ingrid Flute take the money and run
Booked a 5 day break at "Swanning Off" Whitby appartment end March, having just recovered from Covid. Arrived to a dirty kitchen, and bathroom, with food crumbs on the worksurface/ floor & fridge. Hair in the freezer and stains on the bin lid. Worst of all the bathroom floor was covered in dark hair, and the toilet stained with urine and pubic hair. Lino in bathroom also stained with urine. Immediately contacted the owners (had their phone number) who tried to ring their cleaner who wasn't available for 5 days and they "don't live near" ie not going to rectify the filthy appartment at all.
So my choice was leave or clean it myself and stay. Looking in the cupboards I found a bottle of general cleaner, a broom and 2 filthy mops ( no hoover/ no rubber gloves/ no anti- bacterial spray/ no polish/ no dusters). So I went to the shops to buy with my own money, rubber gloves and anti-bacterial spray - to safely clean up all the previous guests dirt/bodily fluids etc. Which took over an hour.
We then noticed the listed facility of a "dishwasher" was none existent, 2 smoke alarms had been removed from the main bedroom and hall and a safety catch to stop opening the bedroom window fully (and falling out ) was snapped off.
I emailed the owner about this with photos and asked for a reasonable refund of £75 for all my time /effort /lack of hygiene standards (not even basic- far from Covid safe)
Ingrid Flute have no interest in my complaint, as they are a broker for the owners, so they "asked" the owner if she would give a partial refund and she said "No". And that is about the level of customer service they give - NONE.
Never used Ingrid Flute before (used many others Hoseasons/Booking/ Sykes = all good) and will NEVER use them again.

Excellent property and location BUT...
Excellent property and location, though needs more flexibility around check in and check out times - 9 a.m. to check out when you have a 90 year old with you is far too early! The property was not even booked before we arrived or after and still, no flexibility quoting cleaning as the reason why they had to stick to times, yet we found cobwebs on windows and dirt under dresses.

Cygnet Cottage, Helmsley: Perfect
New house/cottage rental. Everything really lovely. 3 double bedrooms all with en suite. Fabulous location just 1 minute walk from the market square. Quality furniture/fittings with some really nice features. Fully equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher, freezer, instant boiling water and a wine fridge. There is a nice sound system built into the ceiling which simply connects to your phone via Bluetooth (if you want it) and a south facing (small) patio to the rear. Ideal for the evening glass of wine. Described as 5 star and I wouldn’t disagree. We will go back I’m sure. Lots to explore in the area.

Cottage is in a brilliant little village
Cottage is comfortable and in a good position by waterfall in a lovely town Hawes where you will find everything you need as well as friendly pubs to eat out.
Having stayed in many UK cottages there are a few niggles - the shower on top floor is electric and barely has any pressure to it so it is very weak and not enough to rinse shampoo from my hair. The lounge tv is ‘smart’ but logged into Netflix and it very often would not connect, this was tv issue not wifi as checked speed of wifi. Not much accessories at house - take bin bags, hand wash , dishcloth etc as only 1 black bag left and small amount of hand wash which should be standard during covid.
Apart from these small niggles a lovely week was had with amazing walks nearby.
