Very good booking agency
Second time we've booked through Yorkshire Holiday Cottages and definitely the best UK holiday agency we've used. Great customer service and good communications in build-up to your stay. Also a couple of lovely properties listed on the site that we've stayed in

Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Thankyou to everybody involved in supplying us with a great holiday in The Old School House Sleights. Memorable break so close to Whitby a lovely town with beautiful surrounding countryside and beaches. I would be very happy to recommend Ingrid Flute to arrange your holiday they were extremely accomodating and flexible over the last two Covid years.

Lovely little bolt hole
We recently stayed in this beautiful cottage for a week. It is a newly refurbished property, all furnishings fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach or the town centre. Parking was easy, right outside of the property. We are already planning our return visit. Can highly recommend.

Great customer service
I dont normally write reviews, but really happy with the service provided by YHC.
Our trip was cancelled very last minute due to COVID.
There was zero hassle in cancelling and issuing a refund. Which led to us rebooking the same place the year after.
Great customer service.
When we finally did get away in this break, cottage was exactly as described, with ample updates, information, etc provided by YHC
Thanks for everything

Described as 4star did not meet 4 star…
Described as 4star did not meet 4 star criteria did not mention cottage was above an amusement arcade felt that the pictures were not a true representation of the property there were lots of cheaper options available which would have probably hit the same mark but I chose this for the 4 star rating a lot of information missing from the description and no attention to detail in cleanliness, chips in the cups broken furniture dirty and broken toilet brush and shower screen seal was mouldy and very dirty didn't hit the mark for us I'm afraid
excellent holiday place and location

A must stay.
A beautifully presented, quiet and inviting cottage in keeping with its history, it’s interior lovingly reminiscent of its past as well as modern day luxury. All amenities close by with great seafront beach walks. Will definitely be returning.

Nightmare on Cliff Street.
We booked to stay at Cliff Cottage in Whitby to treat ourselves after a very difficult Christmas last year. The description changed from booking the property to what is shown now and the photographs were very cleverly taken. The main picture shows the viewing platform which is directly in front of the adjacent property kitchen window. We arrived late afternoon after receiving 12 text messages telling us not to arrive before 5.00pm which is far too late especially when you again get bullied by more text messages telling you to leave by 9.00am on departure day. We arrived in the dark, you can't park outside but on a road 200m away so you have to hand ball all your luggage and provisions to a door which opens into a small courtyard next to the dining room of next doors house. There is a very steep metal lined stair case down to the front door of Cliff Cottage. There is a key safe which was very difficult to operate due to it being dark. It opens into a small hall and into the living room, dining room, kitchen which is one open plan area. The two flights of stairs down to the bedrooms are very steep. I would class this as an apartment and not a cottage. There are no outside bins so were advised to leave rubbish outside but because seagulls and rats would be attracted decided to use local litter bins so we left no rubbish or waste there. I am surprised the management company allow this. The apartment has modern technology but we were affected during the night with lights turning themselves on and off and the heating/water was also very noisy. There is also a lot of noise at the rear of the property with restaurants and a pub. We had a problem at the property and contacted the management company who are very limited in their response with no follow up until chased.Their customer service and resolution team are sadly lacking. The view does not justify the inflated cost especially as it is really only suitable for a very fit couple.
Extremely poor customer service…
We booked to stay at Jigsaw from the 28th December for a week. My daughter and partner joined us from Scotland. We chose this property because having 2 bathrooms. It was 3 star, we didn’t expect luxury; but expected everything that was in the property to work properly. We arrived on a bank holiday so contacted Ingrid flute the following day with a couple of issues. One if the showers wasn’t working properly, there was no hot water. There were televisions in both bedrooms but one at a faulty ariel so wouldn’t work. There were lightbulbs missing from bedside lamps. Cobwebs all in the kitchen. The beds were really uncomfortable and of poor quality. However, we accepted that the property was tired and needed updating. But the poor customer service is not acceptable. I reported the problems on the second day. I was told that someone would be in touch the same day. No one was, I have contacted Ingrid Flute on 2 more occasions to complain about their customer service. All 3 times I got told someone will get back to me within 24 hours, and that my complaint had gone to the resolution team. I am really annoyed with them. I had the option of another holiday property £300 cheaper, but wanted the second bathroom so paid the premium. But only ended up with 1 anyway. Our contract is with Ingrid Flute, I am looking at taking court action for false representation and breach of contract. Hopefully they will respond when they receive the court papers.

Inflexible and mean Covid policy
We are a family with two young children and booked an expensive cottage for two nights (via Plum Guide) as part of a larger trip. When the whole trip was cancelled due to elements being unworkable due to Omicron Covid surge, they refused to provide a penny back or even allow us to reschedule unless we had a positive PCR test. We would happily have rescheduled to another free time in the same property and even taken more days. Every other place we were staying on the trip provided a refund or allowed a free reschedule. This company stands out like a sore thumb. Disappointing, inflexible and mean.

I am really disappointed in this…
I am really disappointed in this company. They double booked us the first year, with another family and then tried to put us in a cottage we didn’t want. We booked again for this year, a year in advance for the cottage we wanted to get an email 3 weeks before Christmas to say booking cancelled, as you can imagine I was furious. Rang the company to get a very un helpful lady who eventually managed to put us through to the Whitby branch, the member of staff was quite rude who told us you’ve been offered alternate accommodation at £3444 and we had only paid £1200 for our cottage so obviously this was turned down. We rang a different company to be told it’s New Year with no availability but they would ring us if any cancellations came through which it did thank god.
After sending emails to Yorkshire Holiday Cottages Ingrids Flute asking why, they said that the cottage had sold. After finding the cottage for sale details we realised it had gone up for sale at the end of September, asked the company why we hadn’t been told to be sent a very direct email stating, we told you as soon as we knew that it had sold (3 weeks before Christmas) If they had let us know it was up for sale we might have been able to find alternate accommodation of our choice. I will never use this company again, appalling and customer service is awful.
