ZEZGO RENT A CAR IN ORLANDO, FL.

I had a rental car pick-up in Orlando. You have to call for a ride to get to the rental site, which was not explained at the time of rental. I got to the rental site, stood in line for over two hours. The clerk was so rude and obnoxious. He tried to force their insurance, and when I declined, he was ruder!!! I used my Allstate ins. and I had a Platinum Amex card with ensures the car as well. He also said, I need to put a $1000.00 hold on my credit card to rent the car, even after he had taken all of my insurance information. Then he said I have to pay $20.00 for the shuttle ride from airport to pick-up the rental car. When he got done adding all these extra services and charges it took my bill up an additional $200.00 plus dollars. I showed him my payment summary and said, that don't matter. This is what you have to pay or I'm not renting you a car. It was 10:30 pm and he did not rent me a car because I wouldn't let him overcharge me. DO NOT EVER GO TO THAT ORLANDO LOCATION TO ZEZGO RENT A CAR IT'S A SCAM!!!!! This just happen in Jan. 2026!!!!!

This may seem like an inexpensive…

This may seem like an inexpensive option, but, if renting in Florida add $16 per day to the cost of the rental; that is what they charge for road tolls. There is no option, I felt ripped off; used about $30 in tolls and paid over $160. Just be mindful of the extra fee.

Bad and dishonest service

If I could give this company a 0 star or .5 star I would. We reserved and paid for a vehicle to rent when we got to Tampa area through Expedia at Zezgo, Tampa Bay location. What are you thinking Expedia! We upgraded to a jeep, then the trouble started. The lady at the desk asked us what type of toll pass option we wanted, then we told her where we were going (Anna Maria Island) and she said that there were a lot of hidden toll fees, but to watch for the signs. I asked again, what would you suggest then she said to go with the $9.99 or $19.99/day option if we're not for sure. So being from out of town, not wanting to get caught in fees, we went with the top option.
THEN, we were required to show proof of car insurance, the employee then said that our insurance company wasn't recognized and had to pay $59.99/day (total: 239.96). Another customer we talked to said they had All-State and that wasn't recognized. Really?
We ended up leaving with the vehicle to Anna Maria Island, we watched for toll signs. We ran into 1, 1 toll to go over the bridge connecting St. Petersburg to Anna Maria, cost $1.75. We saw a .50 cent toll to use the Sun Pass, which was optional and we didn't use it. So total cost to our destination, $1.75. We used the same route back, same cost, $1.75.
When we returned the vehicle in PERFECT condition and gased up per their requirements, I went in and told the guy at the desk what our situation was and that we only spent 3.50 in tolls, he said that there were hidden toll cost and it'd be 2 hours to get the updated tolls. I asked him, so we can't get a refund based on their suggestion and we only spent $3.50 on tolls and he said you signed the contract. So Zezgo made $79.93 (toll fee) + $239.96 (insurance) - $3.50 (our total tolls) = $316.39 extra on us. No customer service given, just wanting the money. We were talking to other customers outside the location about all of our terrible service and undercovered costs, and an employee from inside, who was watching the video cameras, came out quickly, and escorted us to the airport, so no more negative comments were made.
Our suggestion...use the National car rentals in the future is my suggestion. Better customer service, you know the upfront costs, no insurance pressure, and toll suggestions are clear and straight forward.
We're going for an overseas resort trip in the summer and Zezgo is a listed rental company. No go to Zezgo. It's a POS company. We learned a very important lesson on this trip. Again....EXPEDIA drop these guys! Cheap, but crap.

SCAM

SCAM! Travelocity/expedia should be ashamed being associated with this company. Forced to purchase insurance - even after proving we’re fully covered, gouging for toll fees and holding $1000 on the credit card — even after we were refused the car because we wouldn’t pay for their unnecessary insurance or pre pay tolls. They wouldn’t not cancel or refund

We were forced to buy additional and unnecessary insurance. The guy on the screen said he wouldn’t rent us the car if we didn’t. Blackmail. This was in Fort Lauderdale at night. Horrible company. Should not be used by travel sites. Everyone we ran into while waiting at zezgo had only negative things to say.

100% Scam company

100% Scam company - $1000 hold deposit to even get your car - I declined extra insurance. Little did I know, they added it to my paperwork anyway before I signed. It wasn't until the end of my trip when I got my final receipt that I saw that they did that. I confronted them and their response was "You signed the paperwork"- I reminded them that I declined any extra insurance and they said I shouldn't have signed the paperwork then. Not a good business- total scam.

I was over charged and I received no refund whatsoever

I had a terrible experience with them. I waited to get picked up from Orlando airport for over 1 hour…. When I finally went to picked up the car… they sad i couldn’t use my personal card and had me paid $302.26 so I can get the rental….at this point I had no choice. My deposit was supposed to be refunded back to me instead ….they took an additional $88… I called them so i can have a better understanding of why was I charged so much instead the lady hung up on me… I called again I spoke to another person for 5 minutes then got hung up again. Now I’m almost $400 short and have nobody to help me…. Those people are so unprofessional, rude and have no lack of customer service….. I will never do service them anymore

Zezgo in Tampa is a scam!!

It should be possible to leave zero stars! This company is a scam!!! The one in Tampa on MLK boulevard!! They told me that my insurance is inadequate and I would need to pay 340$ for 5 days!I had full coverage on two vehicles ! I refused, offered to sign a waver, but was told to leave their facility! I ended up renting from another company that just happened to be in the same building. It ended up costing me 225$ even tho Zezgo was part of my package and supposed to be already paid for! Obviously a bait and switch! I’ll stick with the reputable companies from now on!

SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM! Booked through Expedia as a package.

Waited to be picked up from the airport for an hour-had to call twice.

$234 for their insurance b/c my full coverage USAA insurance wasn’t enough! Plus $200 deposit.

First car had front end mechanical issues. Unsafe to drive. Attempted to cancel the remainder of the contract and was told I couldn’t.

Second car smelled like cat pee and all four tired had low tire pressure warnings.

So for the four days I rented a car, they were only driven the 3.1 miles to the VRBO and back!

Was told due to the time of my flight departure, I should drop the car off and catch the shuttle at 0700. THEY DONT OPEN UNTIL 0800!!!

Save yourself the frustration.

Worst SCAM car rental service!!!

Worst SCAM car rental service!!!
Zezgo at FLL is a fraudulent, bait-and-switch car rental operation in FLL. They lure customers with a $50/day price and then extort money once you arrive. They force you to buy their fake “Loss of Use” insurance for $200, even if you have AmEx AND full personal insurance. Refuse to pay? They simply won’t give you the car. That’s not policy — that’s a scam.

Their pickup location is 10 miles away from FLL, which they conveniently hide until after booking. They also demand an outrageous $1,000 deposit. The car didn’t even have basic features like Apple CarPlay, and to top it off, no one showed up for the handover.

The staff was rude, hostile, and unprofessional, clearly trained to pressure and intimidate customers into paying unnecessary fees. This company survives by tricking travelers, especially those arriving tired and stranded at the airport.

This is hands down the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. If you value your time, money, and sanity, DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO. Absolute SCAM rental company!

I was forced to pay for insurance when I have my own. The car deposit was $1,000. They charged $20 a day to use a debit card when they ran it as credit anyways. Horrible experience. The agent on zoom was rude.

Worst experience I have ever had

Worst experience I have ever had. I wish I would of read more of these reviews before booking because it doesn't seem I am the first person with this problem. We booked through expedia. First - the car rental building is not located on the airport property. When you arrive you have to take a bus to the car rental center and then a second shuttle to the Zezgo location. When we arrived they informed us that we would need to pay an additional $342 for basic insurance coverage. We only paid $130 for the car. Rental cars are covered under our car insurance but we were informed by them that it didn't and we would need to pay the $342. We chose to leave and book another rental through another company since anything was cheaper at that point. When expedia tried to contact them to get a refund they said it had to go through e-mail. After 3 days, expedia still hasn't been able to get an answer from them and therefore will not refund our initial expenses. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Lax location

Lax location
Honestly, I wouldn't even give them one star. Despite having our own insurance certificate, they kept pressuring us to buy their company's insurance, and the deposit amount was $1000. The young female employee with glasses and permed hair was incredibly unfriendly and dismissive, and she didn't answer our questions. But that wasn't the end of it; when we went to return the rental car at 7 AM, they didn't open until 8 AM, and our flight was at 9:40 AM. The 24-hour call center also didn't answer the phone, and we were extremely frustrated. Three other cars were in the same situation as us, trying to return their cars early in the morning.
The shuttle bus to the airport also only started operating at 8 AM, and the rental car staff didn't provide any information to the customers. Why do you run your company this way and not try to fix it? I really want to tell everyone not to use this rental car company again. And also, properly train your employees or replace them.

We booked through Expedia had no idea the physical location was about 20 minutes from airport then we were told unless you have 500,000 liability on your insurance you have to buy theirs!!! 370.00 for 5 days. But because you are 10 miles from airport you are pretty much screwed!! Be careful this company is a total scam!

Worst Rental Car Service Ever....

This was the worst rental car experience I have had in my entire life. The shuttle was late to pick us up from the airport (40 minute wait) and once we arrived we spent nearly four hours at the location waiting to get our car. There were several different hidden fees such as a $500 "Insurance Fee" that they wanted us to pay. This was absurd and extremely upsetting to us. Additionally, our car came with several dents and scratches which the company tried to blame on us. This is disgusting behavior and entirely a scam. There was one particular man who had blonde hair, colorful sunglasses and a white trucker hat on who was extremely rude and did not feel badly about the nearly four hour long line outside the small office. Overall, all of the staff were extremely condescending and did not give us a good experience as customers. I am extremely disappointed.
