Scam - Do not rent from Zezgo

Scam. Booked through Expedia, but charged more than 50% additional charges, intimidating tactic. Very rude and unprofessional. Threatened to cancel the car reservation so were forced to pay the additional charges despite showing proof of insurance and AMEX card charges. Never rent from Zezgo. I think the lawmakers and State Attorneys should sue them and shut down their operations

Avoid this company at all costs

I had an extremely disappointing and unfair experience with Zezgo at Orlando Airport. I rented two cars, and both rentals followed the same misleading and abusive pattern.

The reservation was made online, and the mandatory insurance was already added and paid for during the booking process. There was absolutely no need for any additional insurance at the counter.

At pickup, the employee spoke very fast, in Spanish, and did not explain the charges clearly or transparently. We were first asked to authorize a USD 220 security deposit, which we understood and accepted. Immediately after that, we were asked to insert the card again to charge USD 465, which the employee claimed was related only to SunPass tolls, with the promise that any unused amount would be refunded.

This was not true.

When returning the cars, we discovered that the entire USD 465 was charged, including:

Toll charges not proportional to actual usage

Additional insurance coverage, even though the mandatory insurance had already been included in the online reservation

At no point did the employee clearly explain that this amount included extra insurance, nor did he ask for our consent to add it. This is a clear case of misleading information and bad faith.

Our original rental price was USD 305, and at pickup we were forced into an additional USD 465 charge, which is unacceptable.

It was also evident that the same employee was using this approach with other confused tourists, who were signing documents without fully understanding what they were being charged for.

After returning the vehicles, Zezgo provides no response, no explanation, and no refund.

My advice: DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO.
This company takes advantage of tourists through lack of transparency and deceptive practices.

If there was an option to give 0 stars…

If there was an option to give 0 stars I would. I booked through Expedia and expected to get off plane and get to car with no issues. But nope! First off the location was offsite from TPA. We were picked up by a van and it took about 15 mins to get to their location. When arriving it looked like like a tow yard of cars! We continued to get out and go into a multi room building and heard a current customer asking what are these fees! The customer turned around and told us they are charging extra for tolls and much more. We finally get to the counter and we are told we need to pay an extra $500 for a $500k liability insurance package plus purchasing a toll tag package for $25 a day. I immediately asked for a refund in which they couldn’t do so I contacted Expedia and I explained what happened and they happily refunded me. Needless to say DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO. Pay a little more for enterprise. This was the location in Tampa Bay FL

This is a complete rip off scam in…

This is a complete rip off scam in punta cana dominican republic. They put a contract in front of me which had blank dollar entries for potential damages and told me to sign it. They refused to fill in the contract. Once signed they could write in anything they wanted. This was after 1100 rental fee an 828 deposit and some 300 dollar insurance which covered absolutely nothing for a kia rio!!!. I got up and walked out, then reversed charges with fraud claims against them for the charges.
AVOID! two other customers were getting the same treatment when I was there. They got ripped hard. Avoid at all costs.

Booked through expedia and will never…

Booked through expedia and will never again. You are charged a package price and you think thats the cost but when you get there you get a bunch of hidden fees and required insurance at pick up. Also didn't know this place was not at the airport. Like all the other reviews, save yourself from starting your trip terribly and stay away.

They added $200 plus in non negotiable hidden fees at the time we picked up the car. They understaff workers in order to cut costs. We waited for well over an hour to get our rental because they only had one person working intake at peak hours.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling.

Booked through opodo.com as they showed they had good rating under the name "RIGHT CARS".

The car was damaged and dirty.

Was charged £540 deposit and it is still has not been returned. The guy is also now ignoring my WhatsApp messages asking where my money is.

He also did not help with any bags, nor did he give clear directions for pick up.

AVOID.

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience, Don’t Waste Your Time

I’ve never had a more disappointing experience with a rental company. Zezgo didn’t answer my calls and when I arrived at the location, they didn’t even have a car available, despite my confirmed booking. The lack of communication and professionalism is unbelievable. I ended up stranded and scrambling to find another rental at the last minute. Save yourself the frustration and go with a company that actually values its customers.

If I could give them a zero I would!!!! I booked through Expedia (paid in full through Expedia) thinking they wld not be doing business with a scam rip off company !!! WRONG !!!! I read all the fine prints as this is not my first time renting I brought a copy of my insurance card as they say they accept your personal insurance LIE ONE they added toll charges for incase you go through tolls I showed them my route has zero toll roads I was then told I had to pay all the fees of 406 dollars plus a 250 dollar deposit on top of the 350 I already paid through Expedia I was getting upset and was told the only other way I could get the car was to pay 1500!!!!!! It was late and I finally just paid the 406 and 250 and figured when I got home I wld dispute it then I contacted Expedia and the reply was I NEVER PRESENTED MY INSURANCE ANS THESE ARW OPTIONS I CLD HAVE DECLINED AND SINCE THE CAR WAS RETURNED ALL SALES ARE FINAL .... I contacting the bbb and my bank next !!!!! Go else where don't ruin a vacation with a scam company !!!!

Complete and utter scam company

Complete and utter scam company, Expedia booked this company for us in a different state and the only reason they are "cheaper" than the rest is because they try to get you to pay a $1000 deposit which they obviously have no intention of giving back. Clean driving record, have our own insurance, they wouldn't allow us to use. Waiting for our booking fee back from Expedia, did not use this crap service.

Hidden fees and difficult process.

Was easy enough to book online with our flight. Wasn't thrilled about having to leave the airport via a van to get the car. Picking up the vehicle was a hassle! Staff was unhelpful and directed us to a phone booth to talk with someone else. The video kept disconnecting, and the added fees were ridiculous. The return process was unclear and there was no staff to assist us. The vehicle was clean though.

This place sucks

This place sucks. Worst experience I ever had Takes forever. I never rented a car and took me 30 mins Also they made me pay a loss of use charge. That’s some bullshit charge Just never had such a terrible experience with a rent a car company. If I could have cancelled I would have. Expedia needs to un associate with them. Makes them look bad. Not a good way to start my vacation in Florida. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. It’s a joke

I would give them less than a star if I could. My parents rented a car through them. We flew in. They said they would pick us up. They never did. They never answered their phone. We waited almost an hour. They didnt answer their phone ever. Customer service -10. Had to rent a car on the spot from Enterprise. Please do not rent from this horrible company. RUN AWAY.

Fuel: gas vs disel in Iceland

First time rental from this company. No where during pickup and inside car did it say to refuel with disel. Dacia Buster SUV was over 100k miles. Now we might end up with $3K US or more to fix the car. Bad customer service, poor judgment and guidance from company. Will never rent from this company again.

HORRIBLE!!

HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! We rented through Expedia. Waited over an hour for transport from the airport. Were charged almost $200 more when we got there, then another $100 for cleaning fee, the car was clean when returned!! Very unprofessional & looks like a "pop up" shady business!! Rent from a name brand rental company, NOT THIS ONE!!!

Do not book with this Car rental

I had some concerns during my rental experience. I was not allowed to use my own insurance or SunPass, and there were hidden policies such as restrictions on taking the car out of the state. Due to these issues, I ultimately decided to use my own vehicle instead.
Overall, my experience was quite frustrating and disappointing. The rental company made it very difficult to understand their policies upfront, and I felt misled when I discovered extra restrictions after booking. Not being able to use my own insurance added unnecessary costs, and the refusal to allow SunPass made tolls much more inconvenient. The restriction against leaving the state was never clearly communicated, which could have ruined travel plans if I hadn't read the fine print. Because of all these unexpected obstacles and lack of transparency, I lost trust in the company and would not recommend their services to others.
