Opinion - Unfair trading practice

I had an account with XLN for several months before deciding to cancel.
During the term, additional charges were applied which I had not been aware of when signing up. The details relating to these charges were contained within the contract terms, but I did not find them clearly highlighted or explained during the sales process.
When I raised the issue, I did not feel the matter was handled satisfactorily.
In my experience, the pricing structure was not as transparent as I would have expected, and this ultimately led me to cancel the service.

ABSOLUTELY horrendous customer service

ABSOLUTELY horrendous customer service. Call Centre refused to escalate my call and complaint when raised. Business Telephone outage for 5 days with no compensation. Then when Engineer left wires exposed at the business XLN wanted to take no responsibility - write to BT was the response! THEY ARE A JOKE! AVOID - especially for business services

We are a business going live with…

We are a business going live with Daisy/XLN tomorrow.

The onboarding has been nothing short of chaotic.

No proactive contact. No structured implementation. No one managing the process. We have had to chase everything ourselves. Basic business telephony essentials — caller waiting messaging, business identification, call handling setup — were never configured, and no one even contacted us about arranging them. Instead, we were sent generic emails telling us to log into a portal and set it up ourselves.

That is not onboarding. That is outsourcing their job to the customer.

The most serious issue: during the sales process we were explicitly told that our existing IP phones would work with their cloud system. The day before go-live, I called technical support myself — just to sanity check things because the process already felt badly managed.

Technical confirmed immediately: those phones will not work. They have never worked with their system.

So either the salesperson didn’t know what they were selling — or they knowingly misled us to secure the contract.

As a result:

We now have to urgently purchase new IP phones at additional cost.

They will not arrive in time for go-live.

Our business will effectively be running off a single mobile phone.

Two desks in our office cannot operate properly.

Staff working remotely will be impacted.

This is the position we are left in 24 hours before switching.

For a telecoms provider, reliability and transition management are fundamental. This experience has been disorganised, reactive, and deeply disappointing.

If this is how the relationship starts, it does not inspire confidence for the future.

I strongly advise other businesses to triple-check every technical claim made during the sales process and to demand written confirmation of device compatibility before signing anything.

Following on from previous reviews

Following on from previous reviews, , XLN disconnected the broadband/phoneline and access to the account. Took them till 2025 to send threatening letters with baliffs. Customer service were rude, obnoxious and still havent come back to us.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Poor service from the start due to their incompetence.

Scam Company Never Trust them over…

Scam Company Never Trust them over charge for poor services false contract when you said you leaving they blackmail with extra £1000 charges taking them to Court they also not giving our land line. We have 4 business address now we cancel the services never recommend also suggest in my connection about their fraud charges they also looking into this matter.

I have a new contract with the Xln

I have a new contract with the Xln
They said your handset phone it will work with the new internet call .When I received the router l plugged it in and connected to the phone but the phone wouldn’t work after that they emailed me a new phone model and I spent hours searching for this model of phone in Argos and curry and many other shops and after I got one l plugged in to the router it wasn’t working I called them and they said the handset phone it has to be from us to work so if u buy it from us it will work but if not then not going to work I as a new customer I don’t suggest your services for my enemy can you imagine if he were one of the friends so differently not suggesting this service for anyone on the globe .it was nice to clarify that at the beginning and say you will not be able to use phone calls unless you buy the handset from us because I bought exact one name and model as been written on the email that they sent to me.

I am leaving because of over charging…

I am leaving because of over charging every month from day first till yet I ring multiple time and request them I don’t need any extra services but they add on by themself and increase bill and we agreeed amount was £25 pulse VAT but I’m paying 40 or above every month and after 1 month they disclose hidden charges which is if any fault comes in the line you should pay for that engineer fee if you don’t add on you insurance with your bill if I know this happen I will never start this service
All other companies they charge equal bill every month and everything is included so we know we have to pay that much bill but they activate all services after when we are in the contract we can’t move anywhere else

Never ever use this service at allllllllll plz guys they are robbers they just making money and use people card details
If you have already kindly keep an eye your account they will over charge every month
If you start this service you will b stuck in contract and you have to pay extra every month
I don’t bother £40 or £50 but trust me they are robbers they miss use your details if you in you will know but I m trying to save people as much as I can through this service plz save your harder money from that type of companies plz you can do charity instead of them plz.

Loss of service because of a major…

Loss of service because of a major fault from their side, my business was not running for a whole day and lost me a lot of money and reepear custom.Daisy said they could not compensate loss of business or loss of service because it was only one days downtime. They ended up reimbursing me 32pence. Absolute joke of a company!defo avoid

Was misold this Internet by one of…

Was misold this Internet by one of their crooked representatives. Told me to make up a business name and hed put 3 referrals of £50 on my account. The signal was crap they charged add ons without my permission. Now there sending collections instead of taking accountability.

XLN is one of the worst internet…

XLN is one of the worst internet providers that I have had to deal with. They gave me a contarcy for £24 month. Then the first surprise was £120 of my first bill? I rang them to ask about this. They said oh maybe we have changed for installation which was free in the first place and told me they will give it back on credits. Then for a few month after that they were taking over £40 a month! I called again and asked for an explanation. They said oh we have added insurance and whatever as extra add ons! I was like you guys must be joking me. Please take it down to the lowest possible price as I dont want add ons. Then they said okay we can charge £27.5 a month without addons. And throughout the whole year I was struggling with the speed of the broadband and when I checked the speed, I saw that my speed is just between 1 and 2 mgps!!!? I was told average speed would be above 60mgps! Then called and expressed how terrible the speed is. They told they have to send an engineer to check and that would cost me around or over £200! I told them to just terminate my contract and I will pay the penalty leave the worst experience I've had in my entire life! If you want peace of mind then I advice you to avoid these people.

Persistent issues

Persistent issues, poor service, very slow connection speed, it never once met the expected / quoted speed. Ludicrous out of contract pricing . Cancelled 2 months ago been charged a further 2 months since and now being told I have to wait and further 30 days to cancel as it was not “confirmed” in December when we switched to a new provider 5 x cheaper 10 times faster connection. We will now have to pay a further £165 for a WiFi service we are not using and have been out of contract for some time. They also require us to return the 3 year old router or face being liable for the cost of a brand new routers, I think we’ve more than paid for the router by now ?! Endless problems . Time wasting, hidden charges, beware the price goes through the roof the moment you are out of contract . Poor customer care. I can’t imagine they’ll be around for long .

after 5 years using the service my…

after 5 years using the service my contract came to an end and after 2 weeks they charge me double. and the guy on the phone telling me as an adult i need to check my bills because they sent me a reminder. ( which i think is an insult and inappropriate to use that words to a customer).never again use thier service

Scam stay away

Scam stay away. Company based in India. They don’t really care when you have agreed. Told over the phone that it will be £10 per month and now charging £35 for 1 analog line. When questioned they said we have recording when I said ok send me recording sent me a blank file which so not open. Stay away. Choose local company pay few quid extra at least get better service.

Worst ever experience in 25years of my…

Worst ever experience in 25years of my business dealings.
Whilst I was continuing with a payment plan that was agreed with the account office, the money was being taken from my account each month according to the agreement which was confirmed in writing, I was threatened by taking legal action through debt collection agency with an extremely rude manner.

I have the details of the the lady at the account office and the man at debt collection agency but I will not mention it here for courtesy reasons.

I thought xln was excellent but I found them the worst.

Poor communication, hidden charges, and confusing contract cancellation process

I used Daisy Communications (formerly XLN) for business broadband and phone services and had a very frustrating experience, particularly around contract end and cancellation.

What should have been a straightforward process became unnecessarily complicated due to poor and inconsistent communication between teams. I received conflicting information about contract dates, notice periods, billing, and cancellation options, which caused significant stress and wasted time.

In addition, there were unexpected and poorly explained charges, and the price was increased more than once within a year, which was never clearly highlighted at the point of sale. As a small business, these hidden costs and sudden price rises made budgeting difficult and damaged trust.

During the cancellation process, the confusion resulted in my office being without internet, disrupting business operations and causing avoidable anxiety. This situation could have been prevented with clearer communication and better internal coordination.

After raising a formal complaint, senior management acknowledged shortcomings in communication and offered a goodwill refund. While I appreciate that acknowledgement, it came only after escalation and considerable effort on my part.

My advice to other small businesses:

Watch out for hidden charges

Expect price increases during the contract

Get everything in writing, especially around contract end and cancellation

The service itself may work, but customer communication, transparency, and billing clarity need major improvement.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. They are cheap but you get what you pay for. Phone lines go down very often. Customer service is useless. Cannot run an NHS business using them.
