Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 102 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the products to be clunky, with issues such as watches being too large for children's wrists or screens breaking easily. The user experience was often described as difficult and not intuitive, with problems activating SIM cards, setting up devices, and inconsistent functionality like calls not connecting or messages not going through. The most significant frustration for many was the customer service, which was frequently reported as non-existent, unresponsive, and impossible to contact by phone. Some people were satisfied with the watch itself, noting that it performed its intended functions and was a good concept. A few other people also felt that once the product was set up, it worked brilliantly, and appreciated features like parental controls and tracking capabilities.

Customer service is terrible

Customer service is terrible. I gave my son the watch for Christmas and we still can't use it (end Jan). Very slow responses and asking for the same information multiple times. All I want is a refund at this point which is proving very difficult to get! Do not recommend!

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Ordered a X6 play watch for my son on the 2nd of December and by the 12th of December it had still not been dispatched. Contacted customer service to request a cancellation of the order as per their cancellation policy and instead of them processing my request I got a notification to say it was dispatched the next day. I did not want it at that stage as I had purchased another watch in a retail outfit. Contacted customer service again who told me to refuse the UPS delivery which I did on the 18th of December and despite numerous emails I have still not received my refund. Buyer beware!

My 9 year old loves his watch

My 9 year old loves his watch. He uses it to call his friends but also us if he's gone somewhere. The sound on the calls is very good and the app updates almost instantly. I've not used the GPS tracking much yet but the few times I've had it seems to be working fine. Overall really pleased with it.

Only drawback is to not be able to customise the preset messages as the ones available are not always relevant. Maybe something to look into for future app upgrades.

Got for my 7 year old daughter

Got for my 7 year old daughter , she wanted a phone but I think she’s to young , so this watch is a perfect inbetween , as she can call anyone she wants and send texts . I like fact that I can track her with the GPS . She loves to track her steps . The watch is a Perfect fit , even thought she is very petite , the watch didn’t look to big . She doesn’t want to take it off .

Prices & poor customer service/limited availability has a poor website and…

The company has a poor website and issues with handling billing properly. It is hard to contact the company. Emails the company sends out cannot be replied to. The contact formula could not be submitted via Bing/ecosia despite it being fully filled out. The only way to contact was to write into a chatbot .. i am hoping for the best.
Also: pricey subscription service for a child watch that does not have a lot of data or calls to handle.

Absolutely and utterly ridiculous…

Absolutely and utterly ridiculous company and product. We got an XGO3 less than a month ago that has failed. Contacted support they asked details I had already provided, besides I'm authenticated via the app, can you just pull my details from there?
Almost 2 days now since I indicated that there is an issue with the watch and it doesn't work and haven't even gotten back to to tell when they going to replace it or anything.
Should have checked their reviews here looks like could have avoided some headaches not getting anything from xplora.

Didn't realize when we signed up…

Didn't realize when we signed up there's a contract for two years. My child switched to a phone after 1 year thinking I could cancel the xplora watch only to find out we have to pay the full two years. No exceptions .This company sucks ! Clearly have to make people sign contacts because its the only way to keep the business going.

Control App clunky and unresponsive.

Very poor app to phone integration.
Have had watch for about 6 months. Sim is terrible and doesn't work at home and many other places. Changed it last month.
GPS very inaccurate.
Poor to activation of school on/off mode so not very useful during school holidays and child can only use as sos device and basic watch.
Generally overpriced kids watch that can sometimes call.
Would not recommend.

Very average.

Had these watches for my daughters now for a couple of years but not found them much use. We don't have great signal where we are and rely on WiFi calling at home but even when they are out and about the watches don't get much in the way of reception as I guess the aerial isn't up to much on such a small device. The location works OK but not as good as an apple tag and there is no way to send messages from the watches. All in all a bit gimmicky rather than a genuine device.

Awful watch, terrible company.

Ordered for birthday present in November... Its almost christmas, and I haven't had a full refund or a working watch.

Customer service has been an absolute joke, after finally setting up a contract and receiving a replacement SIM, they are now ghosting me after requesting cancelation for a non-functioning watch/contract/sim.

I purchased the XGO2 from Amazon, please please please avoid this company, its a total scam!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

AVOID - Great product on paper ... and that's where it ends. Complete hit or miss whether you will like it or hate it. To be honest it works for some, but complete nightmare for others.

Watch arrived - IMEI number for activation didn't work, SIM card unidentifiable. Customer Service is diabolical. As with others here - you start with a BOT (useless), it raises a ticket - if you are lucky you might get an email in the next 5 working days asking for loads of info on watch, IMEI, etc - you give all of that and a week later ... you get asked for the same thing again. Then nothing - they have removed contact numbers and basically ignore any emails they are sent. Try emailing them direct - automatic response saying email closed and you have to use their online form (which does nothing). This company are masters of complete FOB OFF. Luckily I was not able to sign up for a subscription - DO NOT - there is no way to cancel (a friend of mine is still being invoiced even though they tried to return the watch). I am currently trying to get my money back - sent watch back in ... surprise / surprise - no response. If you email the CEO (check out his want your funds page), you get nothing either - complete joke. How funny that the CEO hails 300K plus subscribers on Linkedin, but cannot run a company. Shocking ... could have been a great product.

Help desk is catastrophic and…

Help desk is catastrophic and dysfunctional. I am waiting for reset the watch for 19 days sending reminders.

We have the XPL Kidswatch X5 Play eSIM gr elD.

I am the main guardian; my wife is the second. Her application does not work despite reinstalling several times. I tried to factory reset and now the second guardian has to approve but she cannot use the app. Here we cannot do anything. Reading the QR code on the phone does not help either. We both reinstalled the app, but does not help we are locked out.

Helpdesk promised to reset requested proof of purchase three times, but nothing happened for 19 days.

We have new phone numbers as guardians we wanted to change, but using the same email address doesn’t allow. It is extremely frustrating spending long hours with it - no online solution! - and your chat was absolutely useless. Also ticket raising is impossible you type imei number, etc and the message it was not successful try again later. Then sent email to valid address published on your website and now it was refused that I have to do in this format. That is not a customer service, sorry, seems to have too many problems with the product!

Avoid XG03. The XG06 and 02 are better models.

Started with an XG03 as liked that it was water resistant. However from day one it never worked properly (battery and GPS both failed repeatedly and app kept losing connection to the watch). After much persistence on my part, we were issued an XG06 and I have to say it is working far better. And when these watches work, they are great. XG06 is pricey but my friend has the XG02 for her son and has never had a problem.
Some tips:
1.First line customer service are awful - keep asking you the same questions over again every time you reply, but if you can get escalated to the next level team they are a little better. Be bullish and don't give up if you are having a problem!
2. I bought a giffgaff SIM (am UK based). If you buy your own, be careful following the set up prompts as if you follow all the steps unquestioningly, you will end up activating their SIM (which comes with the watch) and get stuck in a contract. I avoided this but could easily have been caught!
3. If they gps location is saying it won't refresh, go to 'history' or turn on the live 'tracking' for a minute. That usually resolves it in my experience!
