Total disappointment

It took ages for the customer department to answer even though I got a receipt informing me the email had been opened, I asked for a correction of address, as well as help with basket, as the site was messing up, and items would have to be removed and everything was ‘freezing’ during the sales. It messed all the basket up and staff replied 5 days later ,after a moan from me! Didn’t correct my address and I didn’t get half of the items I ordered! They offered me a 25 % discount so I re-ordered,most items I wanted were sold out! voucher did not work, I called, guy said to email blah! I emailed and was told to check out :’we’ll credit your card back after you paid full amount and have delivery’. I did , got delivered, again 1 item missing ( even though the site says it is available and lets you check out with said item!!!) . Was delivered a week ago, still no refund!!! Such bad service... real let down from this company and their basic candles were full of bubbles, the quality has gone down the drain! I will avoid their site, you can get their candles from other place cheaper anyway! And I ordered about £150 of products including wooden wicks candles.

Wrong lids

Delivered me 3 large jars with the wrong lids.
Best they offered was to return them.
Only wanted the correct lids sending as I really wanted the fragrances.
Poor customer service, judging by the 81% 1 star reviews I’m not the only one.

I cried when I saw my parcel

I recently received my order from Yankee Candle. I was absolutely disgusted.
When I have spent my precious money I do not expect to be crying when I recieve my purchases. However that is what happened when I saw my order from Yankee Candle. I wish I could attach the photos. They have shown no pride in their product by 'shoving' them in a flimsy, inadequate box that was bursting open with only one piece of tape on the top which was also coming off to 'secure' them and insulted me by doing so. I literally burst into tears of frustration when I saw my parcel. You could potentially blame Royal Mail for the state of my parcel however this argument is flawed as the box and one piece of tape to secure it means it's a miracle it even arrived albeit practically open and battered! To add further insult to injury when opening a box containing 12 candles one should be hit in the face with the scent on opening. This was not the case! I have no idea exactly how old these candles were!? Noone in my home could detect any scent from the candles. Not a hint. The votives themselves have had the labels slapped on and not even stuck down! When lit they also didn't have any scent! I usually buy Air Wick who sent me a parcel on Christmas Eve which contained various products 2 of which were candles. You could smell them through the thick cardboard box which was taped down within an inch of it's life, showing pride for me and their product. As a disabled person all my purchases are online and have been since online shopping began. I am appalled Yankee Candle would dare to send out such a substandard product in useless packaging. I send packages to family with 100% more care. These were for me to help calm me whilst suffering with Cancer and other illnesses. I am not able to get my Air Wick candles easily so bought a scent I thought may be similar from Yankee Candle. I've bought this scent from House Of Fraser in the past so I went direct to the supplier. Yankee Candle clearly don't care about the Customer as it appeared they threw a load of outdated or old stock into a box with a serious lack of effort.
I value my money and what I spend it on. Yankee Candle clearly doesn't.
I eventually got a reply from them, proceeding to ignore the fact they were insufficiently packed and packaged and then began to explain to me how different environmental aspects can affect the scent!! Room size, open window etc - as though I had never bought a candle in my life! Then they described my battered flimsy box as slightly damaged! It was a Wordsmiths dream! I was offered 3 votives free. I'd bought 12 that had no scent so how is 3 comparable. The candles and box went in the bin so in effect did my monies. Avoid!!! After this I never want to think of them again.

Disappointed

I am not complaining about the customer service as I bought from somewhere else, but I have a complaint about the candle itself. I bought a votive and really like the scent so i went for a large jar. The scent wasn’t the same firstly and there was a lot of fumes and soot when burning. I have used a lot of candles before but never came across any of this kind. Im quite concerned about the amount of voc its been releasing into the air especially its winter and windows are closed. I’m not too sure i will buy Yankee candles again.

service is terrible customer services…

service is terrible customer services disgrace you have to open up a case for PayPal to get some sense of them you're waiting on a week for delivery which is absolutely disgraceful while you're painful delivery course I would not order of Yankee candle again or any Yankee stores I would order of qvc.co.uk which is much better place don't get Yankee candles this Yankee store is fake and fraudulent I would keep away if people get the opportunity to report this Yankee store I would

Good product, poor customer experience

The candles smell really nice and, buying Christmas candles in the NY sale, they were half price, which made them good value. However, delivery took well over a week and one of the order items was cancelled with no explanation. What sort of poor inventory system do they run if they don't know what's in stock?

I was brought the Christmas box absolute rubbish

I was brought the Christmas box. What a load of rubbish. All of the candies had no scent, burn down really quickly and there was no relevance to Christmas. I think they were just boxed to get rid of there rejects.

I have had Yankee candies before but will definitely not be buying them again.

John Lewis are much nicer. Don’t waste your money.

Expensive jar of wax !!!

The candle price £17.99,smelt OK,but as with Yankee Candles and other makes,anything in a jar will only burn for so long before the wick drowns in the hot wax,then becomes useless,with most of the outer side of the candle left untouched.They should just charge for the jar,the candle is an after thought!

Beyond disappointing, no scent!

I had a miniature and loved the scent so much I decided to order the largest version of the same scent. Ordered in plenty of time for Christmas and candle arrived after Christmas, was only told it had been delayed weeks after it was ordered. The candle has now arrived and the surface was marked and uneven and worst of all the candle has literally no smell! It is meant to smell like a cinnamon stick. So disappointing and a complete waste of money. Don’t buy!

Diabolical. 0 stars.

I ordered almost £50 worth of products from Yankee Candle at the beginning of December. I received an email saying there may be a delay, and a couple of days later received an email saying my order had been dispatched. I still have not received my order. I have been through the process with UPS to see if they were at fault, who were responsive and said they have fed back to Yankee Candle. Despite numerous emails and calls I have received NO information and NO response from YC nearly a month in to this debacle. They’ve happily taken the money from my account, and to my mind, have essentially stolen my money.

The most disappointing website I have ever ordered from - will not be purchasing from again

Dire customer service - ordered 5 large personalised candles for Christmas gifts on 3/12/20 as the website stated delivery within 3-5 days - sent numerous emails and made numerous phonecalls to enquire when order would be getting dispatched but no reply - needless to say, not delivered in time for Christmas - received email today saying they have been dispatched 29/12/20 - a bit late!! Overall, extremely disappointed with website for falsely advertising and for the most dire customer service of any company I have ever dealt with!!

Money down the drain

They confirmed my order same street name and number for my address but a completely different town and postcode. On hold 3 times for 3/4 of an hour no answer. Sent emails never replied to. I ordered to the candle on 8th December for an Xmas present. I never received it and have had no communication. Money down the drain.
