I’ve bought Yankee candles for years…

I’ve bought Yankee candles for years and have always loved them but I recently saw an offer on the website for a half price offer comprising of 4 items for £30.68 and free delivery great I ordered 2 lots and got confirmation it would delivered on wed . However on Tuesday after I left for work I got an email saying it would be delivered on that day 2 late to ask my neighbour but assumed they would leave a calling card. No when I got home there was a large box left on my doorstep with Yankee candle tape all around it telling everyone walking by I wasn’t in .now I realise this is the fault of ups and not Yankee candle but when I opened the box was disappointed to see not the lovely gift box I had imagined but 4 wrapped in plastic items and one of the diffusers was only half full

Terrible online service

Terrible online service, my order was cancelled due to it being out of stock, even though the candle was available and I could go order it again. When phoned they said that it was out if stock for the day the warehouse was packing my order but now they have a very high inventory of them if I wish to reorder it. They cancelled the order Sunday and it's in stock Monday why not wait 1 day!

Issues with delivery and poor customer service!

I have placed two orders recently with this company and somehow managed to forget the first set of issues that I experienced. My order was sent, and UPS sent several text messages to say that the item was being returned. I contacted Yankee Candle to see what the issue was and they said the address was incorrect. The address was in fact correct, however between Yankee Candle and UPS they were unable to understand the apartment number and street number. I then had to contact Yankee Candle a second time to try and resolve this. Needless to say that they were of little help of use. I contacted UPS again and spoke to them about the address. Finally after 10 days of going back and forth the items arrive. Sadly, I forgot about these issues when ordering again and then the same happened again. The customer service from Yankee Candle is appalling. They were unhelpful, and not really that interested in sorting out this issue. They didn't even have the decency to apologise for all the trouble and anguish they caused. I tried to leave two reviews regarding these issues on their own website which they did not publish. The sent an automated message to say that "the review doesn't meet their guidelines". I'm sure it doesn't when I explained these issues, they will not want them publish. Avoid this company.

Terrible Service

Ordered a wedding day candle 2 weeks in advance, parcel was ‘lost’ and despite there being time to send another one out they refused to do so. Terrible customer service, and unwilling to help. Went without our wedding day candle.

Terrific customer service

Terrific customer service. In store colleagues are always helpful and full of knowledge. I also think that recently the quality of the candles have improved and have noticed that newer candles have more scent and are burning better. Looking forward to seeing the new Christmas range!

Everyone be aware and avoid this…

Everyone be aware and avoid this company at all costs of buying their overpriced candles and even avoid working for this company as I did just recently, I worked through the agency of Yankee Candle through Thomas Recruitment agency in Avonmouth, Bristol. I started on the 23rd August 2021. I was full-time on the agency rotating 2 week shifts. Within the first 2 weeks, my attendance was 100%, I was always on time and never called in sick or absent and I did all the work I was assigned to do and what I was told to do by them. After working for them and completing 2 weeks I went in on Monday morning 6th September 2021 and clocked in and went inside and was waiting with everyone there, then I was told there was no work for 2 hours and that we had to clean the warehouse which I was going to start doing when one of the line managers came up to me to confirm my name and said I wasn’t on their list and then they took me into the office to see my Manager and then my manager told me that they no longer wanted me there because apparently I don’t do as I’m told when working and I was told that they weren’t happy with my productivity and they said that my pace was slow when I know that my pace was the same as others there as we were all working together. In the time I was there I did shipping, receiving and rework and worked on the convayer belts but I didn’t get a chance to do picking or packing and I was in shock with what they said to me and they said I should’ve been contacted by the agency which I wasn’t and told me to leave the building and I left the building feeling really annoyed and angry.
It’s funny how they let me go like that when I ain’t done anything wrong and kept other individuals there that just stand there and chats to people instead of working so this just really shows what they’re really like and how they treat people that work with effort and they think it’s okay to drop individuals working on the agency like a hot brick like that and making up excuses and lying to get staff out like that when they ain’t done anything wrong to deserve that so definitely won’t be ever working for them or buying their overpriced candles again so wouldn’t recommend to anyone at all.

Get spam emails from these people every…

Get spam emails from these people every day numerous times. Clicked unsubscribe keep getting them, click keep me unsubscribe keep getting them. I then emailed them to tell them stop emailing me and they asked for my details phone number, address and if I stand up or sit down for a wee. Trading standards need to stop these people I’ve asked to stop getting emails so just remove my email from your mailing/harassment list

Shop around for better prices.

The website and stores have the most expensive prices, the outlet stores do have a few bargains, QVC are much much cheaper but have now started buying via groupon as you can get a large jar candle for £9.99. My point is that Yankee Candle need to have price cohesion, I would love to buy from the website or store but why would I when everywhere else is so much cheaper.

Items arrived quickly

Items arrived quickly and well packaged. The candles are always long lasting and have a variety of scents, but they are expensive so I recommend waiting for a sale period.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service!

I ordered wax melts and plug in's as they were on special offer, I actually spent quite a bit on them, there was next to no smell of any of them, (must have been very old stock they were selling off) I messaged to return the order as it was a total disappointment, when they eventually replied they wanted proof of the purchase Hello! I was messaging via the order... there was an absolute ton of questions that were completely unwarranted, I actually just gave up and threw the stuff in the bin, terrible company to deal with and I will never buy from them again...

Customer services is useless.

Customer services is useless.
Wanted to know about the new car freshners.
Operator said you buy the device and then the refill.
I said there are no devices to buy. She kept saying if you look on the site they are to buy with the refills and the charms which are just a waste of money. Why not sell the device with the charm already?
Anyway kept telling her I couldn't see the device and finally once she logged on was told it was out of stock.
So that was a waste of time

Poor quality

I used Yankee candles and car fresheners for many years, but recently bought car fresheners which not only didn't smell the same but only lasted for one day. Customer Service is useless they said that will collect the rest of fresheners for investigation and issue me a refund,but never did. I will never buy any products from them. They should be named & shamed for selling poor quality products.

Great customer service

I love Yankee candles having bought them in stores. Buying online was easy and when I made an error with my order and forgot to enter a voucher code (entirely my fault) and emailed them, they corrected it for me with no fuss. Great customer service.

Avoid unless you don’t mind redecorating

I’ve been burning Yankee candles for a long time ..all through the winter months too in my living room and hall. I had noticed before that it doesn’t take long for the wick to burn down so I trimmed the wick before lighting every time. My living room is white so it was only when there was a mark on the wall I wiped it with a damp cloth and to my horror it was just like the whole wall had a layer of soot ... the same at the top of the stairs in the hallway where the soot had risen to the ceiling. My walls are mid sheen paint so I had to wipe down all the areas that were the blackest before I could repaint both rooms. Everything was black even the tops of my curtains. Took down all the pictures and there was the true story of how badly my room had been damaged with soot. I have banned Yankee candles from my house. I can’t imagine what my family have been breathing in. Toxic.. they should come with a health warning.
