YITH - Preaching Trust, Practising the Opposite

There is nothing worse than a company that loudly preaches values it never lives by. YITH claim to champion “clear communication” and “customer trust,” yet in reality they operate in the opposite way.

While some of their plugins are up to standard, others lag behind the competition, clunky and unintuitive for the everyday user. In truth, all are overshadowed by one common weakness: dreadful customer care.

When an unintended renewal was charged, and I contacted them the very same day, I expected that a company so vocal about customer relationships would simply reverse it. Especially since I remain a paying customer for another of their services. Instead, they refused. Not because they could not, but because they would not. Their customer service extends only as far as the law requires, and never beyond.

This is the short-sighted nature of the company. They chose a one-off gain over long-term trust, leaving a paying customer alienated and ensuring I will never subscribe for any service again. Even if you stay on top of renewals, keep in mind this same attitude echoes through to their plugin services: quality has slipped behind industry standards, while their real focus is now on how they can trap you rather than how they can serve you.

Just doesn't work

Just doesn't work - too many problems, support is non-existent.

Been using YITH Subscriptions for a few years now, all I get is customer complaints. We are now looking for another plugin that actually works, for those looking to get this, try to find something else that works and is easier to use. The interface is rubbish and features don't function as advertised.

Quote Request Plugin - Important features unavailable, no indication of unavailable features on the yithemes.com website

Below is a list of a series of issues encountered with the PlugIn Request Quote, problems that will force me to purchase a quote request form from another vendor:

EDITING PDF TEMPLATES

Only the PDF template for managing quotes can be edited; a non-editable PDF template is available for displaying quotes.

PDF FILE NUMBERING FOR QUOTES

It's not possible to edit the numbering of the quote PDF file; the plugin automatically inserts incomprehensible numbering. Yithemes Support informed me that to resolve this issue, I need to purchase a plugin. Obviously, the plugin is developed by yithemes.

TEMPLATE MAIL

To edit mail templates, a specific plugin is required to edit the plugin's mail templates.
The default mail templates contain information that is unnecessary.
I haven't received a response from yithemes support regarding this issue.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

You only get a response if the problem is trivial; for complex issues or functional deficiencies in the plugin, Yithemes does not respond to support requests.

Yithemes refunds the product with a simple request within 30 days.
If you don't have to shut down your e-commerce site quickly, it may not be possible to test all the features that should be present within 30 days.
The lack of an email template editing feature is a serious issue. If editing email templates requires spending more money than the financial commitment to purchase the "Request Quote" plugin, I expect a prominent warning before purchasing the Request Quote plugin.

A plugin management module must include a tool for editing email templates!!! Your client, in this case a former client, decides the style of emails sent with preventive.

If modifying an email template developed by Yith requires purchasing a plugin, a plugin specifically for Yith templates, you must advertise this in BIG LETTERS on your website.

If you advertise that PDF file templates can be edited, all PDF file templates MUST BE ABLE TO BE EDITED!!

IF YOU'RE ASKING FOR MONEY FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT, YOU MUST PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT!!!!!!

Needed technical assistance with a plugin which was repeatedly ignored. When asked for a refund they refused even though I was in the 30 days money back guarantee.

Do not buy these plugins.

Terrible refund experience

Terrible refund experience – beware of auto-renewals!
I was charged for a Yitheme plugin renewal I didn’t want, contacted Yithemes within 24 hours after they took the funds, and hadn’t used the service — yet they refused a refund. I’m an Australian business owner protected under Australian Consumer Law, which requires refunds in cases like this — especially for future, unused services. I even provided video proof that I turned off auto-renewal, but they still refused. They hide behind rigid refund policies, completely ignoring legitimate consumer rights. If you’re a business relying on ethical billing and support, be extremely cautious with Yithemes. I’m now lodging a complaint with the ACCC and QLD Office of Fair Trading, and will initiate a chargeback through Paypal. BUYER BEWARE!

We are sorry for your disappointment. We would like to point out once again that when purchasing, customers are asked to accept our terms and conditions, privacy policy, and subscription authorizations.
It is possible to easily cancel the automatic renewal from the account up to the day before the scheduled charge date, which we communicate via email 30 days beforehand so that our customers have enough time to decide whether to keep the subscription active or not.

Renewal orders are non-refundable, except in rare exceptions that we evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

Excellent products and outstanding…

Excellent products and outstanding support. Thanks to Yith, even a novice like me can create a well-functioning website.

The only criticism I can think of is that plugins are sometimes a bit rigid in terms of expansion and that sometimes (in my opinion) logical links between plugins are missing.

However, apart from that, it is simply a top-notch company.

Awesome support

YITH Support has been amazing for me

I bought one of their WooCommerce plugins for a client last month and have sent them numerous tickets for help in the 4ish weeks since. Each time I have received a reasonably prompt reply (24-48hrs) and each time their customer support fixed my issue with minimal back-and-forth. In one instance the support team acknowledged my error was a mistake on THEIR end and provided me with a custom script to solve my issue while their team implements a permanent fix. My latest support request was for something that was minor, but important to my client. I could have written a PHP script myself to solve the issue, but I felt it was something other end-users might also want, so I contacted support. Within 24 hrs THEY had written me the PHP script to customize their plugin to MY unique needs. They could have easily told me I would need to code that myself, but they didn't, and that goes a LONG way for me. This is not my first YITH plugin purchase and it certainly won't be my last.
