I had two car policies plus home and contents insurance with Youi for 15 years. In that time, I didn’t make a single claim for over a decade.
Recently, my credit card details changed and their emails went to my junk folder, so I missed the payment notices. The first email I actually saw was telling me my car policy would be cancelled at midnight. I called the same day to fix it, but they refused to reinstate the policy, saying their system wouldn’t allow it.
Instead, they tried to push me into a new policy for the exact same cover — at an extra $400. This was even after a representative confirmed with their manager that reinstating the original policy was possible.
No flexibility, no common sense, and no regard for long-term loyal customers.
I cancelled everything and switched insurers — and ended up saving over $580 with better cover.
Avoid if you value customer service and loyalty.

I needed alternative quote for the ever…
I needed alternative quote for the ever increasing car insurance premium even though I have never made a claim in 50 years. Called Youi and spoke with a person fluent in English (I am not racist but it's difficult when you can't understand the person on the other end of the phone). Danielle was helpful on first call and personally followed up 2 weeks later to clarify some queries I had, overall saved $400 on new policy and can only hope Youi's services doesn't diminish over time and take customers for granted like my past insurers.
Not cheaper at all!
Have tried comparing on 3 occasions and every time, Youi were at least 30% dearer than other companies for car insurance, especially Shannon's. One quote was more than $1,000 dearer!
I have a full no claim bonus, never been refused insurance and I'm well over 60yrs of age. My last at fault claim was more than 10 yrs ago.
(Also, I really dislike their stupid adverts!)
