We decided to get a building and pest done in our existing home before retiring to ensure that there were no hidden costly expenses that could rear their ugly head when we decide to sell in years to come. The inspection was very thorough with notes being made on the little areas as well as the big areas, these included the pantry door scraping on the floor when being opened, a crack in one of the kitchen cupboard doors, the rail on the deck is looking a bit worn.
We are now aware of what has to be done and can now deal with each issue in a cost effective way that will ensure that when we decide to sell there should not be any nasty surprises.

The inspection report covers the quality of build and quality of maintenance for the age of the building. The inspector even reported a slightly crooked door on a cavity slider which takes two minutes and a screwdriver to remedy.

I have used their services twice now and can whole heartedly recommend them. They are extremely professional from the time of booking to handing over the reports (same day that too). We had Wade with us both the times and full marks for being extremely professional, telling us the exact position , giving valid advice and being really reliable. If you need an honest opinion on the condition of the house, the amount of work it will require to fix it and the best possible ways to fix it then these are the people you need to work with and the added bonus of same day reports covering every aspect.

We chose Your Building Inspector over Rapid Building Inspections and we really regret it. Their website claimed and states that they are
Fully Equipped, Their inspectors carry a radar, heat and moisture sensor to every inspection but it’s all a lie. The inspector who did our house inspection didn’t carry anything with him. I even asked the inspector if he has a radar to check or a moisture meter? he replied; it’s in the car and he didn’t even bother to go down and get it. Basically, he was just glancing and did a visual check. Passed our B&P condition and during our pre-settlement inspection, We then decided to get another inspector and found out there’s some moisture, mould and leak issues that needs to be rectified and would cost us heaps of money. Too late!!! This could have been prevented if the defects are identified during the inspection and mentioned it on the their building inspector report or this wouldn’t be a problem if only the inspector brought a moisture meter with him as it can detect moisture content that can't be seen by his naked eye. On the other hand, I asked them to recommend a second opinion with a person specialized in toilet and bathroom fixing knowing that their inspector didn’t have the proper equipment to check moisture during inspection while we’re still on the B&P condition stage but I got declined, they said that they have conducted the inspection in accordance with the standards and it is unbiased. it is with the standards and unbiased if their inspector carry a proper equipment but he didn’t. Sad to say, now we’re stuck and end up buying a 2 bedroom apartment that has 2 bathrooms for renovation.

Garage door motor broken so only can open it manually, shower in the master room is leaking, these problems not show on the report! and the inspector only went for 50 mins, way shorter than average inspection time! the house just settled we probably will find more problems!

I recently used Your Building Inspector for the purchase of my first home on the North side of Brisbane. They responded to all of my enquiries professionally and quickly, then got out to the property in days and had the report to me that afternoon. The quoted price was also a lot better than other companies I had spoken to.

The report was comprehensive with a lot of photographs of the property and recommendations on all minor defects. They were pleasant to deal with and provided a great service. I don’t have a bad word to say about them.
