A great afternoon out !
A great afternoon out ! My grandson aged almost 13 had a fun filled fantabbydozzo time. Lots to do, lunch on site - helpful staff, clean toilets.
We arrived
We arrived, albeit late to the zip lining on the 15th Feb for my sisters 30th… due to the sat nav, signal and the cars desire to take some detours we weren’t going to make the time slot. I explained this on the phone and apologised saying we will be late. They were extremely accommodating and pushed our times back to allow for our plentiful re-routed journey. A big thank you for this!!
We were booked for the caverns, it was a marvellous experience. A big shout out to Ellie (our zip guide/coach/GURU), great with communication and the catchphrase type sayings for the zip lining. The repeated renditions were said all around the course, as they helped for confidence for novices like us. Ellie was very supportive, professional, had a great demeanour and patience. Thank you!
Brilliant experience, definitely value for money

Don’t buy a voucher for Zipworld
Don’t buy a voucher for Zipworld, they expire, your money doesn’t. If you’re going to go, book on the day. They will not honour expired vouchers which I don’t understand. They have had the luxury of my money and earned interest on it.
Swinging 60s
We arrived at the site on the 27th of December in the middle of a storm. I have to admit I thought we were going on the longest zip wire in the world but instead found ourselves surrounded by a forest on a steep hill with what looked like a Robin Hood set up with ladders, nets and walkways joining the trees. Slightly inappropriately dressed and the day before my 62nd birthday I nether the less decided to put myself in the hands of the staff. Frankly, they were excellent. Very specific and patient while we got into our harnesses and with perfect instructions on how to move through the various anchor points, my mind was at ease. We made up a group of three and extremely quickly gained the experience to climb, traverse, swing and zip our way through the course, high above the heads of other visitors. At no point was I afraid, the equipment was so secure and of such excellent quality, we all learnt to put our complete trust in it. Wfinished soaking wet and laughing. A perfect day
Had another great day at zip world
Had another great day at zip world. Unfortunately we didn't get the video footage we paid for (this has happened twice now) so had to get a refund. They did offer to take us back up to velocity and do it again but due to how strong the wind was we declined lol but at least they offered. They do also offer you to wear the headcam and purchase later if the footage is available so you don't have to go through getting a refund if you've already prepaid. We've been to zip world a few times as we live local and the only problem we've ever encountered is the camera footage. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Money for nothing.
Terrible customer service from Zipworld- we feel we were effectively scammed. I booked this your my partners 30th and unfortunately our accommodation let us down last minute. We called to refund and were told we could only had a voucher to reschedule within 6months. I won’t go in to specifics but for health reasons we sadly could then not actually go ahead with the booking. We then were conveniently told that actually the voucher is non-refundable. Whilst this information was buried in the terms and conditions it was never actually raised at any point by the customer service team when we spoke with them. That felt intentional but of course I cannot objectively state this was the case though I note several similar complaints online who had essentially the same experience.
They just kept offering to extend the voucher (which was just not possible given the reason we needed to cancel) but refused a refund despite the fact it cost them nothing but cost me a significant amount of money. They were essentially insisting on payment for nothing which is simply not an ethically defensible position.
Rather than respond to my concerns the customer service agent via online chat they just stopped responding to my messages. And actually just cherry picked the points they actually responded to.
I find this an astonishing decision for a customer service based company. They may have made £230.00 for doing literally nothing but have lost our future custom and also that of all our friends and family too. And obviously I now feel it’s my responsibility to try prevent this from happening to others by posting reviews online as well- especially given the cost of living crisis when many of us cannot afford to lose any money let alone hundreds.
Effectively a needless lose-lose situation.
I’m really disappointed, we haven’t been able to afford a holiday for many years and this was a treat I saved a long time for so this treatment feels especially heartless
I hope this message finds you well
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent cancellation of my booking due to adverse weather conditions.
Unfortunately, the weather conditions at the time of my reservation were severe, making it impossible for me to proceed with the planned activity. Regrettably, I was unable to reschedule the booking for a later date due to my prior commitments.
Given these circumstances, I kindly request a refund for the cancelled booking. I believe it is only fair to receive a reimbursement in light of the unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances that led to this cancellation.
Your company has never contacted me. makes me very disappointed.
Clown that was calling me a pedo
Came here for the fear Forrest event on the 30th of October with my mate to enjoy ourselves, walking up to it looked amazing all coloured lights lighting the forest up people dressed as clowns looked good, we were stood in the queue waiting to check our selves in we’re a clown with purple hair came up to my self started calling me a “pedo and saying I’ve only came because theirs children. Everywhere” he said this multiple times out loud around loads of people, we ignored it and got our tickets and moved on the people down by the trampolines we’re amazing and very nice, next we went up to the forest coaster we’re the clowns their were funny and having a joke until we bumped into the one with purple hair again we’re he came up to me and said “oh it’s the pedo again they shouldn’t let you live within 500 yards of a kids school” at this point I wasn’t very happy as I could hear people behind us in the queue talking about it and making me very self conscious and not enjoying the experience, we then went on the forest coaster twice which was very good would recommend doing it, we then left we’re the same clown from the previous two incidents walks up to my car opens the door and says “ oh god it’s the pedo again” he then covered my eyes as I was getting ready to drive off and started shouting towards the lady putting her kids in the car “ don’t look at them their kids pedo” after all this I work with kids and this could damage my work image as if owners or other members of staff of the holiday park I work at near by were their and over heard this it could cost me my job. I got home and told my parents what happened, and my mother called zip worlds main office to complain, my mother told him what happened and that it ruined the experience as I didn’t not go their to get abused and called names of such a calibre , we’re the man on the phone who said he was a manager said he asked the man and he said it never happened and said to my mother “ what do you want me to do about it” which is not how a manager should talk about a serious complaint I have a witness who was with me and he said a friend doesn’t count but my witness also works for zip world, I am putting in a police complaint about the issue as it was not dealt with properly as it’s a accusation which could get a person into a lot of trouble and will not be tolerated
FFEAR FOREST AT ZIPWORLD…
We went to the ffear forest at zipworld on the 21/10/2023. As two adults in our late 20’s- Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Clowns amazing, we took part in all activities including nightfall, the swing and the paint balling. SO SO WORTH IT. Extra mention to all the staff behind the bars, working the activities, reception and even the security. I feel their friendly and happy attitude made it so much better!
Problems with bookings when arriving
Problems with bookings when arriving. When I arrived at the cafe they said we stop serving food at 2.30pm but this was befor that time and still refused to make the simple thing like chips like they had served the customer be for cafe staff young with bad attitude.
What an absolute waste of our time…
What an absolute waste of our time travelling up from kent with an over night stay to travel to llechwedd on the 10/10/23.
On arrival after a 6 hour drive and and a overnight stay in Wales we was welcomed by two teenage receptionist who I can only describe as adolescent and with a very childish Manor.
I could not belive when I asked that I would like go on the zip line which we were so excited about we was then told the zip line is not avaliable today.
We asked the reason why and I could not belive what the staff told me after driving for over 6 hours for this activity.
WELL WE WAS TOLD ITS NOT THAT BUSY TODAY SO ITS NOT OPEN.
The sun was shining today it was a beautiful day I just cannot belive there excuse I mean we were paying customers and there was nothing on there web site saying the zip line was closed today.
I will be contacting the owner of this establishment as today was not good enough after traveling hundreds of miles just to be told this.

Booking fee rip off…..…
I contacted Forrest Coaster this morning to book a ride on the Forrest Coaster. It’s advertised as ‘from £25’ but I quickly learned this price doesn’t exist. I went through the on-line booking system and at the ‘complete booking’ page I discovered there’s a £6 ‘on-line booking fee’. So I decided to telephone them to save the extra £6 fee. I called them, spoke to a lady, went through the booking and at the end, I was told that there’s a …..you guessed it…….a £6 telephone booking fee. I asked how do I access the ‘from £25’ price, she couldn’t give me an answer.
So I’m not sure what the £6 covers during a 3 minute phone call. They’re just like a lot of companies today that wants to rip off potential customers with this ‘booking fee’ scam. What does it actually pay for, that would be nice to know wouldn’t it.
That’s one customer less they’ve got.

Unhelpful angry staff
2 Ev chargers are advertised for the site in wales Penryth quarry , on my arrival I asked a member of staff if we could use one , I was told yes , but when I’ve tried to use one of them a different member of staff frantically ran towards me saying no ! his arms in the air waving in a really quite angry way , I was shouted at , i couldn’t use them and I had to move my car, even though they’re not being used and in full working order, the member of staff made up some excuse that a special key was needed anyway, and we were in the staff car park (but not one member of staff has an electric car ) I’ve used many ev chargers and these ones did not require a special key other than the cable to be plugged in and connected to payment , chargers were not being used and were not used throughout the duration of my visit ,i was left with hardly any charge to be able to continue my journey after paying almost £400 to be able to go on the zip wire plus a further £60 on food and £100 on merchandise , this customer service was shockingly poor and quite unbelievable , I was speechless !! It’s terrible that ev chargers are advertised but your not able to use them

Myself and my three teenagers
Myself and my three teenagers - Nice place and lovely people, the actual zip line was an anti climax, trussed up tightly told not to move your arms, you have a helmet and goggles on, so really do not get much feeling of speed. scenery brilliant but you get more of a thrill on a good theme park ride at a fraction of the price.
Stuck underground
(I’d like to preface my review by saying apart from this experience the mini golf was somewhat enjoyable.)
My partner and I came here to do the underground golf after about 40 minutes of playing the most understaffed/ unorganised game of mini golf we (aprox.30 other people) waited for the mine tram to come and take us back up to the surface. After about an hour of waiting, no communication was made by the one member of staff that was overseeing about 60 people(this includes the people still on the course). After this time she finally made her way through the cave tunnels to tell us the tram had broken and led us back to the golf course. We were told we would be taken up the emergency fire exit for her to only stop us and say there was not adequate signage to highlight the exit. After another 15 minutes we were met in the cave by more people who had been bought down to play. It is understandable that the member of staff in the cave was alone and was stressed just as much as us however what is not acceptable is bringing more players down before clearing the small waiting area in the cave. After being told we were not allowed to use the fire escape due to improper signage and fear that we would be lost we made our way through the well lit correctly sign posted staircase back up to the surface. What topped off the experience were the sarcastic comments made by one member of staff joking about the whole situation as we passed her and another group that was being brought down. The lack of communication and improper organisation unfortunately ruined this experience for us. Luckily we were met with one sorry before we were swiftly directed to the exit.
ZipWorld DO NOT CARE
If you live a significant distance away from the ZipWorld location or if you have a child that is of a nervous disposition then do not book with these mercenaries.
My story is long so I will try to keep it brief:
We live in Hampshire, we had booked to go on Velocity 2 in North Wales, we gave ourselves 6hrs travel time but ended up getting to the location 20mins late due to traffic. They were unable to put my son (13yrs old) and I on the same ride and with that refused to provided a refund instead they would only give a 6month open ticket which would mean another 12hr round trip. With that disappointment we returned home, another 6hr or so journey.
We rebooked, we drove 6hrs up again, this time my son got too nervous and didn’t want to do it. At this point I requested a refund but again it was refused. The customer service team stated they “could not” provide a refund; it’s not a case of could not, it’s a case of “would not!”.
I paid ZipWorld £192 for what is essentially time and space, not tangible goods so a refund is not impossible/unachievable.
My advice is avoid this place at all costs as their business model takes advantage of customers and is part of everything that is wrong with the world today. There is no human touch or understanding, there is no compassion or negotiation. Added to this, I am sure the T&C’s are illegal. They want your money and money only.
Definitely worth a visit
Visited Zip World Merthyr today, absolutely horrendous weather but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All the staff were helpful and pleasant but Alys went above and beyond to put me at ease as it was my first visit, diolch yn fawr. Hopefully my next visit the weather will be kind.

Titan zip with disabled daughter
Yesterday I did the Titan zip wire with my wheelchair bound daughter… the staff went out of their way to make the experience exhilarating and made her feel so valued. I would highly recommend and gratefully thank all the staff for their patience, time, smiles and warmth. We shall definitely visit again. Thank you!
