I am English and speak a little French…

I am English and speak a little French only.
I have recently booked a rental house with you for next summer.
As all the booking documents are in French and everything appears to be on line ie there are no tel numbers to talk to someone to get help.
I find this very unsatisfactory as I would like to get some more information re my booking and have paid a large sum as a deposit but have no way of contacting you

Availability rejected by propery owner

I have contacted the owner by phone and after explaining that it has 1 more hour to accept or reject our reservation. Without any professionalism and remorse of the fact we invited friends over, she told me the dates aren't available, and thats all, we cannot do anything else.
It's very unprofessional of it's part as It blocked our time for 23 hours. Needless to say all other options we had before, were all taken, so It caused us a very big inconvenience.
Because of this behaviour I had to seek on other sites and of course for other regions, as the offers were gone.
As it's my first experience, I will abstain from further comments, and I'll try another time, when I'll find offers just to make a final opinion on their clients.
Now I noted 1 star, for the behaviour of the property owner, not the site or their support which was ok.

First of all, thank you for using the Abritel website for your holiday rental search.

However, I am truly sorry to hear that the owner of the ad you asked for posted his calendar as available for the period you wanted, when it was not.

You should know that the owners have an online account from which they provide their ads, their availability, their rates and from which they manage the requests for vacationers they receive. It may happen that owners take time to update their rates or their calendar, or they do not connect every day to their personal spaces or their mailbox for example.

However, it is important that they keep their calendar up to date and we remind them of it all the time.

We realize that it is more than unpleasant to spend time seeking ads and getting incorrect information, which is why the site makes every effort to impact the visibility and ranking of ads that do not day their schedule, their tariff, their condition or which cancel or refuse requests for reservation (downgrading in the search results or making them disappear as appropriate etc ..). This state of affairs is fortunately not the majority of advertisers on the site. This in addition to all our efforts to communicate with the owners to educate them to a good use of the site and make them aware that offering quality ads will be just as beneficial for them, as for the site and for its users.

We are sincerely sorry to see that the owner concerned is not responsive and sorry for the inconvenience. We invite you to report this announcement to the Customer Service.Thus, the site services can do what is necessary to intervene with the owner, before sanction if the situation was led to reproduce.

We got a cancelation from the owner and…

We got a cancelation from the owner and do not get the money back. We asked the support from Abritel but very low support.

The site is fine

The site is fine, but you have to be aware of certain things like overbooking. I travelled last week to the US, I reserved a room with Abritel. The owner of the room-apartment I reserved was overbooked. Therefore, the site accepted my reservation and charged my credit card, but the owner cancel my reservation the same day explained that she was overbooked. Of course, they did reimbursed the fees, and I had to go to a lengthy process with the owner to have my reservation back, and end up sharing the apartment. Therefore, I would recommend precaution about these reservations.
I think that the site MUST do a better job to check for these details that are extremely important.
Second thing I am not too happy about it, but I believe the site probably will not have much means to know about it, so I won't blame the site, is the properness of the places they advertised. The room was not clean, It has an strong smell, and it was very poor maintained. The owner has her own dog sleeping with her in the room, and she did not even has new sheets to offer me. The host was fine in general, but she was more interested to charge her money than attend her invitee's needs. I think the site MUST check hosts better for the lodging they are offering, specially when you come from overseas, and you don't know really what to expect, or if you will have availability to get something else immediately. I was coming with a cat, therefore, it was very difficult for me to change for another reservation, and I felt very uneased when the owner cancelled my reservation because she did not know she was overbooked, and the site do not know about it.

to improve the accuracy of the adevertised prices versus the real ones

Dear Abritel,
Please improve the accuracy that you ask to the owners regarding the displayed prices versus how much they really ask: I had negative experiences on that matter in different countries and years, so I believe you have to do something about this. Also, do something about the hidden costs which are reveal by the owners only after booking and advance payment: it should be display on the announcement the clear additional costs with final cleaning, house linen rental, parking, wi-fi or a/c. Thank you.
