Just a nightmare

Staff on the phone always lie about the times, I pre order on the app and they still don’t turn up on time even if booked in advance, they’ll accept your booking and then cancel it too saying the driver thought it was his airport run, and they cancelled without notifying me, they tell you the driver is 5 minutes away when I can clearly see on the app they are 15 minutes away, I preordered to pick me up from the train station 30 minutes ago, it’s freezing cold and they do not care, they will then also charge you the extra night fee on top of your journey even though you’ve booked and they’ve not turned up and lied to you, I get these taxis virtually 4-5 times a week home and I’m friends with most of the drivers and I’ve noticed a lot of them have left, I’m not surprised by the way the company is, one told me they were working like 16 hour days and only made £100, awful company do not care at all, they called me back as well to say the driver was cancelling my second taxi was there any reason why (this has happened multiple times but this was the first time they’ve called me back to speak to me about their issue) I said no I’m still here waiting so I can go home it’s gone midnight and I’m a young girl on my own trying to get home from work and they were like oh okay, turns out the driver went to the wrong place as well on top of this, just very annoying, absolutely no point in pre booking with them

Good Afternoon,

Having looked in to this matter I can see that you were unfortunately kept waiting longer than normal. This was due to an increase in demand on the evening following a large Christmas booking. At no point was your booking cancelled. I do apologise for the wait you incurred.

The meter is time controlled and the extra night rate is automatically applied on bookings after midnight, as your booking was for 0010, this would have been applied as default and not added. The majority of your bookings are before midnight so the charge would not be applicable.

You are a valued customer of ours and since 01/11/23 you have used us 18 times, of which we have been early or on time for 16 bookings.

As a good will gesture, we have credited your app with a digital voucher to use off your next journey.

The taxi driver tried to take me the…

The taxi driver tried to take me the long way around because i had a bit to drink and im really not happy my father used to work for this company and I feel disrespected and im appalled by the behaviour of this drive as I tried to get out the taxi respectfully and pay as I was already angry ge tried to follow me home and I felt very unsafe and attacked I got in a taxi from the taxi rank at 4.35am I was appalled by his behaviour he wouldn't even let me leave the taxi as he followed me and made me feel more uncomfortable. I am very disastrout by this.

You did state that you got your journey from a rank which would not be our company as all our journeys have to be pre booked.

Do not value customers

I have used this company almost daily for 7 years. They recently charged me 7.50 wait charge for a car that arrived earlier that the time it was booked for. I emailed to query and was ignored. Customer lost

I did not leave the driver waiting! Absolute cheek! When I ordered my cab the app told me that there was a half hour wait and my cab would arrive at 22:21

This was the exact time my train would arrive at shenfield, so I booked the cab. I didn't want to wait for a half hour alone at night

The app continued to reflect that my cab would arrive at 22:21. I have a screenshot 

The cab then arrived early despite the app saying it would still arrive at 22:21. I contacted the driver to explain. I called him he did not call me. I recieved another call after this from a woman. I tried to explain to her and she hung up

I then got in the cab at approx 22:23

I understand that the driver was waiting but this was not due to my booking as I got in the cab at the time it had been booked for.

Thank you for the feedback . Can you please provide us with further information regarding this incident so that we can look into this matter for you. Our systems are not set up in any way that would charge a customer waiting time for being early. Waiting time is only calculated for our drivers time after the booking time.

Sarah I have looked at the job which you booked for asap you unfortunately did incur waiting charge as you kept the driver waiting for 20 mins after he arrived and messages were sent to you.

Sarah this has happened because you mad an asap booking when this happens we try everything to get to you as quick as we can . We will send you an electronic voucher for £10.00 to compensate you. Can we please ask in future to pre book for your required time and this will not happen again. We hope you give us another try to be your choice.

Sarah you should of received a text message with the £10 Voucher.

I am happy to give the A&B taxis a 5…

I am happy to give the A&B taxis a 5 stars rate. I was worried after reading some of the bad reviews, but my experience has been wonderful. Communication with the office was fast and neat, the person at the office gave me all sort of facilities for the payment and our taxi driver was a great driver and he was fun and caring with us. He even gave us a quick tour entering our town to let us know where everything was!! I understand some people may have had bad experiences but I am very happy to have followed my heart and used A&B Taxi. I will keep on doing it, no doubt.

This is not the first time that I have booked a taxi from this company and no taxi has turned up and they claimed there was no booking despite 2 calls

Avoid using A-B

Booked a taxi at 7am for 7.40am, bear in mind thats 40 minutes notice. Now 25 minutes late to work.
Office manager was as helpful as a chocolate teapot; absoultely useless.
Put your money elsewhere.

Disappointed in the App

I have used taxis since the early 90's. The drivers are always sociable and helpful. Being disabled it is no problem to carry my shopping to the front door. The only feedback is that on the app I can choose The Range Pitsea, but there is no option to request to be picked up at the seats outside of The Range. As I cannot stand for long I have to watch the app then walk down to the main doors. It would be so helpful if this address could be added to the App. I am impressed with the speedy reply to my review and the helpful advice. Well done A and B Taxis. Change the rating from 4 to 5

Pat thank you for your loyal custom for so many years. Pat in the bottom right hand corner of the app there is an options button, if you press this it will then allow you to add a note to the journey so that the driver knows where to pick you up from. I hope this helps !

I spend over £300 on a monthly basis…

I spend over £300 on a monthly basis with this firm my bank statements can proof this. The taxis drivers are not the problem it’s the controllers , all calls are recorded so the owner should listen to every call I’ve made and will understand that it’s the controller with the attitude. They are rude they try to put words into your mouth. When I asked who the governor is I was told it was a male I need to speak to and he is in every morning from 9.30 however, when I called to complain and also request him to listen to all my calls that way he would hear the appalling attitude from staff, instead I was lied to by a female who stated she was the manager, when actually she was one of the controllers that I was going to complain about . I simply stated that I was told the owner is a male she then accused me of being sexist and put the phone down on me . Don’t use them you be better off with a Uber or value cars at least you won’t get abused. ( oh thanks for replying even though it should be the owner replying not you as my complaint was about you!!! thanks for showing the world that I was right in regards to your attitude yes Uber & value cars will have my custom. Let’s just correct certain things as I see you are upset I put a complaint about you on Google and on here i did make you aware I was going to do so!!! first of all I use you mon-Friday 6min drive away from my home for school run ONLY!!! 2 I find it hilarious that you admit that I spend hugh amounts with A&B but STILL had to scoop low and lie about not paying drivers what a sad life you have. I don’t think your unemployable anywhere else therefore you sit in a cab station sad with your life and take you dirty attitude out on good paying customers. Please check all their negative reviews etc complaint about attitude from STAFF if I was your governor I’d get rid of you as your like a bad smell to his business

I was in fact the office manager who you spoke to.
Although you spend a considerable amount with us, you have also failed to pay drivers on numerous occasions. Drivers who are self employed and deserve to be paid for the service they provide.
Uber and Value Cars are welcome to your custom.

I would like to complain about your service
On Saturday evening the 9th July around 11.30pm a friend of mine who is disabled and has learning difficulties was left stranded in Basildon by your taxi firm because you were "fully booked". No while I understand this is a busy period for you it's disgusting that you leave a vulnerable female adult on the streets by herself. She will NOT be using your company anymore.

Martin we are ever so sorry but on occasions have to go fully booked as we are unable to fulfill any more bookings at this time. The alternative would be to take the booking still not be able to do the job. We feel it is better to be transparent and honest to give the chance to source alternative arrangements.

This is getting ridiculous

This is getting ridiculous I use the app and it says 11 minutes I get a ping saying it's on its way then check the app a few minutes later and it says searching for a taxi and I'm waiting at least 40 minutes the other day and it happened today and it's now been 30 minutes it's getting to the point I'm not gonna use them anymore

Without a doubt the worst service…

Without a doubt the worst service around. booked taxi at beginning of day to be told at my pickuptime that they have no taxi and tjey have to cancel my ride leaving me stranded notice given was 8 hours from pickup

Avoid at all costs couldnt car less the impact it has on you or the situation they leave you in .
Will never be using these again

Useless service!
Called after driver was 20 minutes late. Was told it’ll be another 20 minutes at least.
Customer service told me her “shift had only started 10 minutes ago so couldn’t tell me anything, except there’s only 3 drivers working”.
Cancelled booking immediately after ending my call, app deleted! Waste of time and effort!

Considering the competition in the taxi trade now, you really need to improve your service!
