I believe that Adopted.com has good intentions. And I’m sure, at times, they produces results. But I feel that most people will be wasting their money.
When Adopted.com informs you, that you have a 10/10 match, it doesn’t mean much. The matches are so basic. Might as well be, ‘Do you have 2 hands’, ‘Do you breath air? Okay, a little over-the - top, but not far from reality.
In addition, most of the searchers’ don’t help things any! There is a message portion, at the bottom of the member’s profile, where they can add a personal message. Most people add nothing, or say something useless like, “I’d like to find my son.” WOW, how helpful! This is where people need to add any detail they can think of. But so often - they don’t!
So after 2 months of absolutely nothing useful…I cancelled!

I joined in the uk paid £14.99 the problem is you can’t really search properly for someone it’s not just directed for your country so the lists of possibles are from other countries unless someone. Is doing the same as you it’s most likely your not going to find them there’s no work done by adopted.com I think I would probably be a lot better off paying a private investigator as I think if I stay on here for endless time nothing will occur as I have a lot of information about family locations dates and none of that really is any good on here

They say sign up free. Than send email saying you have a match and than asks for 19 dollars a month. It is disgusting what they are doing. I'm a professional psychologist and am so disappointed of that behavior.

I used this service in order to try to find my dad’s biological family. While only 1 match came up, the person was unresponsive, but support did everything they could to get us connected and in the end, I was able to make connections and actually meet some of his relatives. They never knew about him! I would highly recommend adopted.com as a tool to utilize in searching for your biological family.

Found my biological mother thanks to this site. It was years after I made my profile (and honestly forgot about it, because I didn't want to pay to search for people). However, I'm thankful she paid because she found me right after making her profile! She messaged me, found my biological father on Facebook, and now I have a whole second family, including 6 siblings.

I found a few of my birth siblings and we were able to connect within 24 hours. Many of us live in the same City. To think we would have never known. There are 8 of us in total. This site is a blessing. Please don’t give up the search.

Nikki is brilliant and I cannot thank her for her advice and support and just for caring. It is great to have a person there to help, whenever you need it. Thank you again Nikki. Just hope tomorrow brings all of us at #TeamBen the news we have been waiting for, for such a long time. The good guys have to win sometimes x

I was able to connect with a half sibling who used Adopted.com to find our shared biological parent who then helped us reunite and put us in contact! I was unsure how to even start looking for a sibling whose birth information I really didn't have, meanwhile he was out there already doing the work. I'm grateful services like this exist to help make these reunions possible.

Paid for a month subscription to see matches only to find that not a single one contained the key match of ‘country’ origin. Cancelled subscription same day to ensure I wouldn’t be inadvertently charged another month and cancelation was effective immediately so I didn’t even get my month.
Might be fine for those adopted from westernised countries but don’t bother for any more unique or non English speaking places as it seems the subscription numbers from there are minimal.
Edit 28/09/23*** I acknowledge your contact and have attempted to reply but seems I am limited to 400 characters. On that note, my view is that your technology and interface of the website is dated and clunky. Certainly not user friendly and not what a person of this generation would expect to see from a user interface. Perhaps 10 years ago it would have been acceptable.
Appreciate your monthly refund but maintain that my access to all functions was removed after I cancelled. Upon attempting another search I received a notification to the effect of "please subscribe to access this function".
Also maintain that the database served no successful matches for my place of birth and place of adoption - being Taiwan. Zero matches.... And my view is that to expect people to continue to pay the monthly fee of circa $28 AUD per month to maintain the ability to be contacted is a farce and an absolute waste of money.
My view is only my view and my experience - best wishes to those who have success from the site. My advice if asked however would be to save up on what would be the monthly subscription fee for a few years and just pay for a private investigator to track down your family if your search is so important to you.

Adopted.com helped us get the correct surname as for 7 years we had been given the wrong one and had been searching the wrong one. Adopted.com put us on the right track and we are greatful for that. i hope everyone else finds who they are trying to track and get a hold of. thanks again MattyandKat

I definitely give Adopted .com five stars for being such a great tool for adoptees and birth parents to be able to easily use and search for their loved ones. Just put it in the information on your profile that you know, however limited it may be, and the site matches you to others that have uploaded profiles with matching or similar content! I did not know about this site when I was searching, but I now would recommend it to anyone who still is.
I have successfully used it to help a friend find her child who was adopted. Once you send message, they have an advanced system that continues to let the connection know via email and other contact info you provided at sign up. It truly is very easy and invaluable in my opinion!

Well, I just read through the reviews and discovered that in the US and Canada they only pay $10 a month for this service.
I'm in the UK and paying just under £15 per month.
That works out as twice as much.
That's just not fair.
Also, I did cancel a while back.
Then I got an email saying I had loads of matches but had to resubscribe to see them. I did that and none of the matches, well, matched.
The weird thing is, I've been subscribed again for some time now and haven't had any emails about matches. I only seem to get them when I'm not subscribed.
*Edit*
Adopted.com reached out to me very quickly after I left this mediocre review. They were quite lovely and very helpful. They explained that, if a member is paying less, then they have a concession. I have, therefore, upped the stars on my review x

I would give zero if I could.
UPDATE; Following this review I was contacted by the CEO(?) of the company based in Canada who was concerned about my review. Well done for the follow up - I expressed how hurt I had been and suggested changes to how post results. She asked me to add to my review following the call - I am a bit late but that is because I thought instead of being put throught the emotional turmoil I would employ an adoption tracing company - this cost a lot (money) but was emotionally totally different.
They did everything they could to try to contact a lead for me. Truly, they went above and beyond.

Adopted.com really CAN WORK! My (new) sister in law posted a long time ago, I found her/our match in the system, I pursued contact through the private messaging system and now have a new big brother and he has a mother and 2 new brothers! At 50 & 60 years old I can attest that it’s never too late to try!

Initially reviewed with 1 star due to something I didn't understand. Upgraded to 5 now. Founder Katherine sent me a personal email explaining what I was concerned about.
They really do care, and go through great lengths in proving this.
You can trust that they only have our best interest at heart.
I have never quite experienced service like this.
I would greatly recommend them.
