About Affordable Art Fair

Written by the company

When Will Ramsay established the Affordable Art Fair in 1999, his vision was to create a relaxed and welcoming environment in which art-lovers could browse and buy 1000s of original contemporary paintings, sculptures, photographs and prints.

Fast-forward 22 years and Will’s ethos still holds true; our fairs around the world welcome thousands of visitors, who can take their pick from a mix of local, national and international galleries showcasing a huge array of artworks by established artists and rising stars, all priced under £7,500/€7,500/$10,000.

We hold fairs in London, New York, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Brussels, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. Each unique fair is the ideal day out with family and friends, filled with a creative smorgasbord of artist performances, innovative talks and tours, hands-on workshops, live music and irresistible restaurants and bars.

In total over 2.8 million people have visited an Affordable Art Fair, and we have helped a staggering 538,000 artworks find happy new homes.

Actually mixed

Actually mixed. There was no problem in actually buying what I wanted (a print priced at £245). I was, however, charged £15 for delivery by courier. I thought this was unnecessary, as I had bought a similar-sized print from the same artist through another forum, which he had sent by post.
A couple of days later, the print arrived by post direct from the artist. I therefore complained and received £8.50 refund. As the postage was £3.10, this puts the cost of the cardboard tube and a piece of tissue paper at £3.40.
I emailed your admin and advised them to make sure that galleries will no longer rip-off customers for spurious delivery charges.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback! I am delighted to hear that you are happy with your new artwork.

As a marketplace, each gallery sets there own shipping rates and fulfils there own orders and set shipping costs to cover the cost of packing materials, insurance and often paying somebody to handle fulfilment. we strongly encourage that this is set at cost and do apologise for the initial charge you received.

If there is anything more we can do in your specific case please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at help@affordableartfair.com or on +44 (0) 208 246 4844.

It was the first time I had used this…

It was the first time I had used this site. I am 82 and after finding out what my daughter wanted for her birthday, I straight away went to this site (11.30 p.m.) I found it really simple and easy to use. After I had ordered it it did not say when it would be delivered, so I rang the number on the email and spoke to a very nice lady who said she would contact you and let you know to deliver it before 6th November. It arrived on time and both she and I were very happy with our dealings with you,

Access to art for ordinary people

I have bought two prints and a painting, all under 500 pounds, through Affordable Art Fair. All are the work of skilled and creative professional artists and it makes me happy to have them in my home. Customer service and communication are excellent.

Slow, Slow, Slow!

To be fair, they were quick to debit my bank account but then there was a long wait for the artwork to arrive - with a much delayed response after I queried the delay.

In short, an unhappy experience that has put me off ever ordering again.

Backy

My print arrived within days of placing the order, SO carefully packaged and Colin kept me up to date with everything. I also know a bit more about the artist, Kate Boxer, which is really lovely. My print (Backy) is truly adorable. I cannot recommend Affordable Art Fair enough. ❤

First time bought art on-line

First time bought art on-line, process all ok, arrived fairly quickly.
I got a phone call from the artist which was lovely and a bonus.
Packaged well, but was wet & damaged on arrival, I feared the print would have been damaged but fortunately she had rolled the work up in plastic as well so in good condition.
Looking forward to visiting the Battersea Affordable Art Fair in person next year.
