A wonderful family holiday of a lifetime. Planned to perfection (without unnecessary pressure) and a seamless trip despite multiple stops and changes in accommodation. The team were also incredibly prompt in helping with queries during the trip. Really hope we can book another holiday with Africa Odyssey in the future.

Africa Odyssey has continued to provide me with the best information and advice with their expertise and passion for adventurous travel. From my first trip with them, I found I can trust them completely and rely on them again and again. I’m a woman who mostly prefers to travel by myself - it is so much less complicated! - so really reliable expertise is critical to me. Africa Odyssey has never steered me the wrong way. George, Sam - thank you for creating memorable and personal itineraries for me that feed my adventurous spirit while also ensuring I feel cared for along the way. Excellent client communication. This is the first time we have used AO to make arrangements for safari to Botswana. Correspondence with them was prompt and timely. Both Dave Fuller and Ted Archdale were very responsive and helpful in answering our questions and providing solutions. Needless to say everything went smoothly. Will definitely go back to AO for future travel.

Just got back from an amazing South African safari booked with Sam at Africa Odyssey. This was originally booked for April of 2020 (and we all know what happened next) and was rescheduled 3 times. Sam was able to get my trip rebooked without penalty (since my travel insurance -like most- excluded pandemics). As a former safari guide himself, he offered great advice and knowledge of the individual lodges. This wasn't my first trip with Africa Odyssey and it won't be my last!

This was our second trip to Africa. Thanks for the help from Africa Odyssey, every aspect of the trip went as planned. The two camps that AO recommended, Londolozi and Vumbura Plains were truly outstanding. Mombo was great as expected - it was on our bucket list. The game viewing and hospitality were superb. My wife wanted to see a leopard in the wild since we had not seen this cat in our previous Africa trip - well, we saw leopards in all three camps, five in total including a cub!

We have used this amazing team of expert and knowledgeable reps a few times. We’ve always had the best experience. They have first hand experience of and relationships with many of the locations. Helpful in finding and building the most appropriate itinerary for us. Great at finding the best deals. They are patient and very non-pushy.

Planned a perfect honeymoon safari/Seychelles trip for us. Rescheduled multiple times because of COVID and they handled everything. Every detail was planned and went smoothly, can’t recommend them enough, can’t imagine trying to do this trip without them.

The trip had to be postponed twice because of covid. For 18 months. Africa Odyssey always solved the problems with great efficiency

Sam and team at Tanzania Odyssey completely exceeded expectations in the best possible way. We booked our honeymoon through Tanzania Odyssey (TO) because we found booking individual locations and travel too burdensome. TO made the whole process extremely easy without overwhelming us with options. The entire trip felt catered to us and truly made our honeymoon a once in a lifetime experience. We had private car transports to and from every destination, each driven by knowledgeable and friendly drivers. Each hotel was staffed with friendly folks, eager to go out of their way to make you comfortable (and they personalized the experience according to our liking!). The safari portion of our trip was like being in a national geographic episode and the portion of our trip was like being on our own private island. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. We would 100% do it again through Tanzania Odyssey. We'll have to try them again if we go to any of their other locations!

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon trip of a lifetime to Tanzania and Zanzibar. What was initially planned to take place in 2020 was unfortunately postponed but Sam and the team kept us duly informed and gave us the utmost flexibility in rearranging and even gave us the option of postponing again this year if we felt so. Sam was ever so great in making us a wonderful itinerary within our budget and the Lake Manze camp and Residence in Zanzibar we’re both truly excellent. We would highly recommend using the company and would have no hesitation in traveling with them again. We are a young couple and it has been a while since we went through a traditional travel agent but we were so glad of it in this longer trip and everything was seamless including internal flights and transfers. Thanks for helping us make great memories!

Very proactive approach and service given when Covid forced us to make changes. After one year we finally made tour trip to Botswana. Excellent lodges as expected and everything was very well organized with no delays etc.

The team at African/Tanzanian Odyssey has made a trip to Tanzania & Uganda an experience of a lifetime. Over the past year, George and Sam carefully helped us create an itinerary for our family of four with adult children that exactly suited our needs. Their knowledge of the safari accommodations, Uganda Gorilla trekking lodges and attention to detail made planning a trip during such uncertain times easy. Every aspect from internal flights , local transportation, PCR testing & accommodations went exactly as planned. Sam even kept the lodges/ safari operators posted of delays of internal flights. We are very happy with all of their recommendations & will trust African Odyssey with our travel arrangements again.

I used them in 2018 for my first safari and they did a great job this time as well. My trip was originally supposed to take place in the summer of 2020 and they helped navigate rescheduling it to 2021. They also were great answering any Covid related questions and other questions we had about changes in travel. It was a great all-round experience for the second time!

What an exciting adventure! I’ve never been on such a detailed trip that ran smoothly and was top-notch from drivers, chefs, lodging, safari guides, bartenders, hospitality greeters, etc. “WOW” is the only fitting word. Sam put together one of my best vacations with all the “bells and whistles”! Amazing! I’m so looking forward to my next journey with AFRICA ODYSSEY.

Simply put, Africa Odyssey is the best travel agent out there.

We booked our trip a year before we were leaving and between booking and the trip Covid happened. Sam from Africa Odyssey was beyond helpful navigating this experience for us. He worked with the people in South Africa on moving our trip date three times, navigated a bankruptcy proceeding of an airline to get us our money back, and even ensured our Covid tests to make sure we could come back into the country after.

As for the trip itself, it was amazing. We did two different safaris in two different locations. Sam picked two places that specialized in different animals and we were able to see every animal we were hoping to see. The lodges were top notch and some of the nicest places we’ve stayed.

On top of the safaris, we spent some time in Cape Town and in Wine country. Sam helped us with things to do each day there and set up a wine tour and all day Cape Town tour. Both of which were excellent.

If you’re looking for a trip to South Africa, there is no reason to pick a different company. Go with Africa Odyssey!

Africa Odyssey arranged a great trip for us to the Western Cape & Kruger, South Africa in December 2020. Due to the rapidly changing travel restrictions half of the trip had to be rearranged on a few days notice, refunds obtained, new safari lodges chosen & flights moved. If ever there was a test of a travel firm this was it and the Africa Odyssey team nailed it - calmly resolving things without fuss so we could enjoy our break. Yes the game viewing Kirkman’s camp was outstanding, certainly touring Stellenbosch from the Delaire Estate was fantastic, but the most memorable part of the trip was how these guys made it all happen safely & smoothly in the middle of a pandemic.

We are Swiss and we organize our trips always by Tanzania Odyssey because we think they are the best advisor for Tanzania and Africa.We are just coming back from Tanzania, Mafia island. We were already in Tanzania for the 7th time and visited different places, each time perfectly organized by Tanzania Odyssey as well as this time, thank you Ted!

Having had our honeymoon cancelled three weeks before, I was recommended Ted. Within 3 hours of calling him he had a whole lot of different options for us to choose from.

Tanzania was our choice, wanting to do a safari and also beach. I cannot tell you how well we were looked after and how smoothly the whole thing went, let alone the amazing experience.

We were really impressed with the level of service, both before and during the trip. We could not recommend Africa Odyssey more highly.

I'd give them 10 stars if I could. First off, make sure you ask for Sam, and tell him I sent you. He's the best. We talked initially for about an hour so he could get an idea of what it was that I wanted to accomplish. Secondly, be clear about what you want. I wanted to see the wildebeest migration and take iconic photographs of animals. Sam worked with me to get me into camps to create a specifically tailor made experience which was exactly what I wanted. Third, be upfront about what you're willing to spend, and remember, you get what you pay for. Sam came up with a trip that gave me the ability to focus on the wildlife I wanted to see and not have to focus on the details, since he took care of everything.

I've been on several safaris and I have to say that working with Tanzania Odyssey was the best experience and best outcome I've had to date. It takes a lot of work to coordinate flight arrivals, transfers and reservations -- all of which Sam just handled for me. He walked me through the pros and cons of the various camps and gently nudged me towards camps that were exactly what I wanted. I couldn't have done this on my own reading TripAdvisor reviews.

I am most appreciative of Sam's hard work.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing 10 day trip to northern Tanzania and Zanzibar which we booked with the help of Kitty Chrisp and we couldn't be happier. The trip was perfectly planned and every detail ran smoothly. From the beginning Kitty listened to our wishes and concerns and always came back with the best options for us. Her first hand experience allowed her to give us advice on locations, camps and itinerary that proved to be spot on.
