Just like to say a big thanks to Dave and the team for there incredible efforts in making our honeymoon truly perfect!! From start to finish everything ran smooth. Whether it was the guides, accommodation or even just the transfers everything was just perfect. We did bush and beach starting with wild camping safari in the Serengeti which we got to see the big 5 and the migration crossing. We treated like king and queen which was perfect for our honeymoon. The white sand beaches of Zanzibar did not disappoint, a day in the city is definitely a must! The food was incredible. The hospitality of the locals was very welcoming and we both made some true friends! Hopefully we can go back to Africa and we would be using Africa odyssey to plan everything. Thanks for everything Michael & Catherine.
Borana we would reccomend very highly indeed to anyone. Lots of activities (horseriding, rhino tracking, fishing, lots of game on drives etc) and has very old school British vibe with amazing rooms. They have recently knocked down the fence with nearby Lewa meaning the animals can roam freely between the two. For all the activities you have your own guides / are private. It is communual dining with cocktails and canapes before dinner every night which we really enjoyed as lots of interesting guests. We absolutely loved it.
Rekkero was a nice small camp and we were lucky to be in the Mara at a quieter time. We saw lots of game and the guides there were very good indeed. The lodge itself was in an amazing spot on a river and the staff very friendly. We shared drives with another nice family. The accomodation probably wasn't quite as special as the other two places but we were there to see the animals and as we discussed when I booked it, that was the destination where we decided to compromise a little to get it into our budget.
Xanadu was very special indeed. They gave us a free upgrade as it was a bit quiet. We didn't see any other guests for our 4 nights there which was amazing. They were able to organise great activities, the food was amazing, staff and service also exceptional. Would love to go back some day - its the perfect place for a very chilled / quiet holiday.
In short Borana / Xanadu particularly were some of the best places we had ever been!
Thanks again for all the help and hopefully some day in the not too distant future we'll have to organise another trip.
I am so thankful for the help and guidance I received from Africa Odyssey - and in particular Kitty Chrisp - in planning a trip of a lifetime to Tanzania for my 40th birthday. Kitty tirelessly came back with quote after quote to suite my ever changing requirements and was prompt and thorough in answering all my questions during the planning and lead up to the trip. Absolutely every aspect of the trip came together seamlessly (considering we had 9 flights, with all their transfers, 3 different accommodations, countless game drives and excursions). All the accommodations/camps they recommened were in perfect locations and suited us perfectly. We really could not have been happier with the service we received from this company and would definitely use them again in future and recommend to our friends!
My friend and I reviewed several travel sites and ultimately selected Africa Odyssey to book our first trip to Africa because they seemed the most organized and gave us the most information (pics, organized website, other written info) up front in order for us to be able to visualize exactly how our trip would go. For detail oriented people like us who are used to planning everything ourselves, and who have never been to Africa, that was very important. Even though we were in the United States and they were based in the UK they were able to hop on the phone with us and answered all of our questions (probably multiple times-sorry George!), even the ones that in hindsight were probably silly, with patience and kindness. Using Africa Odyssey allowed us to remove the anxiety of taking a big trip like this for the first time, and focus on just being really excited about it. Finally, as a single female, my family and friends always worry extra about me when I travel abroad. Africa Odyssey provided me so much information ahead of time, including emergency contact information; let me know exactly when I would be able to be in contact with my friends/family on the trip (even if I didn't want to be); and gave us access to a great cell phone app that connected my family and friends to us the entire time we were gone so that our family and friends back in the States also felt much better about us going.
Having not done a safari before we needed a little helping hand on what would suit us. Dave was excellent and having first hand knowledge of the camps and the area, it was invaluable. Our very special trip went without a hitch and I couldn't fault it. We had an incredible week in Ruaha staying at Kichaka and then on to Ikuka. Both exceeded anything we could have imagined. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend African Odyssey or to use them again.
Had a fantastic two week safari in the Okavango Delta and Kalahari Desert. Thanks to African Odyssey for arranging our trip. We loved it.
I absolutely loved working with George to plan our honeymoon with Africa Odyssey. He was patient and offered so many different options to make sure we were fully happy and within budget!
It truly was a dream come true and we loved everything from the accommodations to the safari experience all the way through to the beach.
100% would book again through Africa Odyssey.
Every thing went entirely to plan . The choice of game camps gave us the variety we were looking for, the cost seemed very reasonable. We will use them again

Our 12 day trip to Tanzania, planned by Kitty at African Odyssey, was perfectly planned, coordinated, and executed.
Two days each at Rivertrees and Gibbs Farm were followed by four days each at Serengeti Safari Camp and Ikuka Safari Camp. This itinerary enabled us to see many parts of the country as well as experiencing it in novel ways; I.e. from rustic to elegant to glamping to upscale.
On our morning and afternoon safaris to Lake Manyara, Ngoragora Crater, The Serengeti, and. Ruaha National Park we saw not only The Big Five
but many other species.
We unhesitatingly give Kitty 5 Stars for this African Odyssey which she so expertly put together for us!

Fantastic choice of safari location. Internal flights and connections went perfectly. Recommendation for hotel in Zanzibar was outstanding. Most memorable holiday for the whole family.
A very clear proposal was put forward by the in response to our suggestion, and the response time, execution and attention to detail were excellent
The trip for our family of 5, including multiple lodges and varied logistics all worked extremely well. Highly recommended.
Informative, patient, prompt, and delivers on its promise. All aspects of planning and actuality of itinerary exceeded expections.

Africa Odyssey did a superb job of arranging our East Africa holiday. From my first interaction with George I knew we had chosen the right company. We wanted to visit Kenya and Tanzania -- but hadn't set a budget or decided how many days. George put together itineraries and patiently offered alternate possibilities when requested. He was a great listener and willing to give honest opinions when asked. We're so happy that he suggested a couple of days in Laikipia as our stay at Loisaba was a highlight -- a breathtakingly beautiful stretch of Kenyan wilderness. Our trip included 6 internal flights with pick-ups and each one was seamless. This was our first time using a travel agent -- we're so happy we found the best! Would certainly use them again and recommend unequivocally. We had a amazing, unforgettable vacation. Thank you George and Africa Odyssey!

I contacted Tanzania Odyssey in January to do a last minute safari in June. George came back quickly with the perfect itinerary and camps based on my brief and we didn't hesitate to book the trip with them. Booking a safari to guarantee the best game viewing can be tricky with the different seasons but Tanzania Odyssey are experts in their field and were so helpful. I highly recommend them and should I get back to Africa, I'll definitely be booking with the team again.

We just returned from our wonderful Botswana safaris. Especially since this was our first trip to Africa—and we were a bit anxious about a few things—we wanted you to know that everything was terrific.
The three camps we stayed at were terrific in different ways. We couldn’t say which was best: Chiefs camp was the most luxurious; Chitabe had the most animals; Duma Tau had water. At all the camps the staff was exceptionally warm, welcoming and helpful; the food was delicious and plentiful; the drivers were knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The animals up close and personal. Photos of the animals and landscape were magical.
Thank you for “hand holding” when we needed it. The Wilderness staff and pilots moving us from safari to safari worked well. (Although between Chiefs camp and Chitabe the flight was 40 minutes late. Our driver was surprised that Wilderness “forgot” to call our camp to let them know of the delay. That was the only glitch we had.)
Again, thank you for your help in making our first (of many we hope) safari trip very special.
Warmly,
Very good knowledge and candid advice. Organisation was very reliable and I had a great holiday.
Will choose Africa Odyssey again if planning travel to East Africa. Many thanks!
It was our first trip to Africa and our first trip on safari. George talked to us about the kind of experience we would like to have. He took our information and created the perfect trip.
Our stay in each location was the right amount of time. The facilities we stayed in were amazing. It was defenitly luxury in the bush. We were in tents which gave us that close to nature experience ( listened to zebras and lions near our tent).
The staff was friendly and accomadate on, the food was amazing and the animal viewing was majic.
Kitty, our representative at Africa Odyssey, made our trip planning a very personal experience, tailored to our needs and desires. We were able to Skype with her, and also with Ted, which helped us feel a connection with them. The suggestions she made to shape our itinerary were very right on! Great to work with, and always quick to respond to any questions we had!
