Scam

I called just to ask what exactly my insurance covers - sounds simple enough. I got transferred 4 times and was given 3 different numbers to call. At one point they gave me a number that connected me to South Africa. I honestly thought they were making fun of me.

One boy was trying to tell me thing I couldn't do and he didn't even take my policy number so he wasn't even looking at my account?? I know this because I asked him "Do you have my account up in front of you right now" and he responded "oh no that would be good can you give me your policy number"

Not once was I even ask my name.

Awful :(

I've been paying for my accident insurance with AIG for approx 13 years and never had to make a claim. I recently broke my foot, I turned it over whilst walking, and did not realise it was broken. Over the month I walked 160 miles for charity (5 miles a day, not a lot with 3 dogs and 2 kids, and not really any more than I would usually do).The hospital stated it was likely the going over that caused the stress fracture.
Yes I know I should have not 'walked through the pain', but what can I say, I did.
I remembered I had this policy, so I claimed.
I wasn't kept informed, received a call that I was totally unsure of what she was asking of me, (also said I am at work can you call back..she carried on) so no idea if I gave the information that was required. I had no idea if my claim was going through and I only found out my claim number when I received the email telling me they were not going to allow it.
Everyone I have spoken to has been polite, but all they do is talk about the walking. THE WALKING DID NOT BREAK MY FOOT.
Its extremely frustrating to put in a complaint and they just keep saying the same thing, then say 'so you don't want to take this any further'.. pretty sure there is no point as apparently turning your ankle over isn't an accident either!
Cancelled and lesson learnt. Accident insurance is completely pointless.

annual multi-trip insurance: claim declined because cancelled before departure

BEWARE of annual multi-trip insurance through JustTravelCover who obtained my cover through AIG. My cover started 1st day of my holiday.

I caught Covid-19 a few days before travel and cancelled my flight to obtain proof of cancellation from airline Jet2.

AIG declined my claim for the cost of the flights because I cancelled when I received a positive PCR test result (7 days before departure).

update: after reviewing, AIG rejected my claim.

update 2: The UK Financial Ombudsman considered my clain and supported AIG's rejection.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has been asked to consider whether declining similar claims is endemic, whether this is reasonable (which it isn't), whether this meets customers' reasonable expectations (which it doesn't) and what action it might take to improve the situation. The FCA should outlaw the above basis for declining a claim for holiday/travel cancellation (or require removing ambiguity in pre-purchase and/or policy wording).

My advice remains: don't buy travel insurance if it's provided by AIG (which may be the case with insurance broker JustTravelCover) ! Let's not boost AIG's profits with our wasted premiums!

I had fleet insurance with AIG.
Since I have started dealing with Tracy Buttle. It was so hard to communicate. She is very ignorant and always argue.
I found out that AIG Insurance Brokerage and associated support services have been expired since 2020. But she has still dealt with my policy renewal. Giving me very high

Watch out for your elderly relatives from this company

My Mum took out an accident policy when she was 70 but thought it was a life policy. When she passed I found out what she had been sold. To my mind she was duped as what 70yr old lady needs a policy to supplement her earnings if she broke her leg. She was a vulnerable lady and totally cheated. I've been in touch with them to no avail they're a bunch of scoundrels

We bought AIG travel insurance with…

We bought AIG travel insurance with covid 19 cover via expedia in November 2021. I got infected with covid while in South Africa and at the same time the borders were closed for those in South Africa. We were therefore stuck in South Africa until just before Christmas when Turkish Airlines started flying to SA. We lodged our claime while in South Africa and up to now, we have not received compensation. The person called Paul Howlett has been giving us a run around telling us the claim is still waiting to be finalised. We have been waiting for 3 months for the claim to be finalised and AIG is not communicating. This Paul Howlett person is very unprofessional. You can tell even from the way he talks to you over the phone that he is not bothered and he is just dismissing you. I find this company to be very unreliable. It is as though they are willing you to give up on your claim.
We are still waiting for the claim to be finalised.

I don't thrust this insurance company…

I don't thrust this insurance company and many others anymore. I don't buy this kind of dodge insurance agian in my life. You can loose your money as a premium other than expecting a compensation😫😷😂😂. I do not recommend them. My travel has been interrupted due to a medical reason and my claim declined by insurance company with their point of view. Second time I travelled without any insurance due to first experience and I saved insurance premium amount in my pocket😷😷👍👍. Second time i experienced flight cancellation due to heavy wind in London last week. I booked a hotel for the following night (which is nearly half of my travel insurance premium) and next day morning I got the flight😷😷😂😂. I completed the entire journey without any insurance and i reached safely in my destination even with the cancelation of flight. Taking an insurance is a waste of money as per my life experience and i stopped taking insurance other than a car insurance which is a legal requirement.

I CAN'T EVEN GIVE IT ONE STAR

I CAN'T EVEN GIVE IT ONE STAR - it should be minus 5 stars. I cancelled flight tickets with Jet2 due to covid. Jet 2 told me I could claim from my Travel Insurance (AIG) . I tried but they declined. They even had the cheek to ask me to complete a survey At the end they asked if I wanted their CEO to reply - needless to say I heard nothing. Jet2 have still not paid either.

Bad Insurance company

Called them to ask questions about my policy and could not get a straight answer as to what I am covered for. Also found the operator I spoke to very rude and condescending. Currently looking to buy an additional policy from another insurance company to ensure I am adequately covered and will never purchase insurance through Expedia again or use AIG.

This company is backdating terms and conditions illegally

Wow, unbelievably corrupt company. Booked a holiday in November 2019 to go in September 2021, they then sometime in between changed their terms and conditions to include border closures and backdated it, surely this has to be illegal never mind immoral. This insurance was taken out though Yorkshire bank now Virgin Money, so you’re implicated too

Total bull..The answer is the Ombudsman.

Total bull, criminals under the guise of insurance, refused to pay out because I cant travel due to Covid, saying I knew the travel restrictions were in place at the time I booked, £1500 they have stolen from me, and no voucher on offer, they knew travel restrictions were in place at the time I booked, so how many more have lost their hard earned cash to these crooks, wish I could rate them zero. Financial ombudsman next, these thief's can't be let away with this! Up date, I have been in touch with the Ombudsman, who informed me we have to go through AIG complaint procedure and with their final decision only then can we proceed to the Ombudsman....sounds hopeful though.
