I used to love this company
I used to love this company, so much so that I kept a stack of their sim cards to give away to others that were unhappy with their cell service. For 14 years I got great service, great coverage and a strong signal, but no more! The company no longer uses the same network, I now get little to no signal, bye bye, Airvoice.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!
I was told when purchasing the phone and signing up for the service that the phone I was purchasing would be unlocked and that my number would be ported over when I received the phone. The phone shows up and was locked to AT&T so it could never be unlocked and my number was not ported over like they said so I had to pay another month to keep my number after paying for 3 months of service with AirVoice so I’m sending the phone back and getting a refund for everything hopefully
Had to pick at least 1 star paid for…
Had to pick at least 1 star paid for service to n Saturday it’s now Wednesday phone still don’t work! Customer service barely speaks English says it can take 72 hours for phone to get turned on! How can anyone ever get crappier service then that! Big thumbs down!!!!!
auto-pay failure, and lousy support
I have been a satisfied customer for years until the company was sold. Now my AutoPay feature never auto-pays and my service gets cut off. Every time I have to call in to get it turned back on and every time they verify that my AutoPay information is not the problem but rather their system. And they always assure me "it's fixed now". Every 3 months, same problem. In addition, this last time I still had over $40 of carry-over credit, but upon renewal they did not restore credit as they had in previous calls, and the representative refused to escalate the issue to a supervisor. When I understandably got angry, the representative hung up on me.
Used to be a good MVNO- billing issues
I had two numbers with Airvoice for several years. I used autopay to get a great $18/month rate, which fit my needs well. The only nit at that point was the nag message when making a call to "please make a payment" a few days before my current month expired.
In early 2023, something changed with their billing procedure. I made a payment and all was well until a couple of weeks later when I got nasty messages that I hadn't paid. I tried to resolve this via customer service, but they kept asking for more and more personal information such as a birth date. At that point, I was concerned the site had been hijacked by ID thieves and went elsewhere.
I'd still be a customer if not for the billing problem. Two stars vs one for good prior service.
Gone downhill
This service used to be just fine but went downhill after it was sold sometime in 2022 to HTH Communications. Without informing me (thus creating great confusion), they changed my account number, my website access password became inoperable, and they changed my plan, to a pricier one. And customer service was for some time very difficult to reach by phone or chat. Switched.
Airvoice service 2022
Airvoice upgraded their website in August or September 2022, causing multiple problems. I am a long-time pay-as-you go customer and am no longer able to add $ to my account, despite adding $ and contacting Airvoice numerous times. Update: they fixed it on 9-21. Phew.
