Total scam

Total scam. And what is worse is that it seems to be promoted by many "respectable" companies. It was on the Trainline website & had no discernable difference either in type face or design. Train line, you should be ashamed of yourself.

This is a scam company

This is a scam company. I had scanned a QR code for Lidlplus and suddenly there I was, signed up to these alerts. My phone kept beeping with all the texts they bombarded me with. At the bottom of one of the messages there was a number that you could text STOP to, which costs you £1.50 each time! Scandalous. Then a few days later the messages started again! This time I emailed the company and told them I was blocking their number and deleting their messages. Please be aware not to use them in any way!

Very scary!

Very scary! A cunning way of robbing you! In less than a few hours I had £4.50 stripped off my pay as you go balance for something I did not want. This is a scam of the worst kind! I am an OAP and no longer trust putting any more money on my phone.

Scammers at best, ignore the texts, do NOT reply

Several texts have arrived over a long period and I have ignored them, nothing bad has happened.

I have never setup anything close to the service these clowns claim to provide and just for good measure my phone has no means of billing setup.

No google wallet, no credit balance, just unlimited texts, calls and plenty of data.
So NO MONEY HERE for you chancers!

Company is a scam, do not sign up. I have reported them to the authorities for fraud. Once you inadvertently sign up it is almost impossible to cancel. Text and email address both invalid. I eventually tel the number and requested stop. I have received a transaction number so hope that works

Fraud when seeking Nectar Card from Sainsburys -

Nectar card application form obtained from Sainsburys. Didn’t proceed with application but later premium rate message charges appeared from Alerts4U with an email later, Not happy as hadn’t authorised. Texted STOP, emailed “unsubscribe”, Reported to O2 who agreed to refund charges (not yet credited). Sainsburys store where obtained form were not interested. Looks like a cloned QR code is being used.

Unbelievable

So, I have a slightly different spin on this to most people (who have inadvertently scanned QR codes having been duped into thinking they were something else). My (very) elderly Mum has just told me that the amount being taken out of her account for her monthly mobile has gone up a lot in the last few months. So I checked her o2 bill on line and she has been charged about £23 a month more than usual. And guess what? Yes, it's a premium rate sms service from Alerts4u - sending her texts every other day and charging £1.25 for each one! I have been on to o2 and after much reluctance, they have applied a credit for some of these charges. They initially said that Mum must have accidentally subscribed to this service, so they wouldn't be able to revert any charges. I told them that as they have levied these unauthorised amounts and allowed this to happen I hold them partly responsible. They eventually issued a credit for in excess of £50, not an insignifcant amount.
The difference with this case? Mum is terminally ill and housebound, She would have no clue what a QR code is or how to use her phone for anything other than receiving or making a call, I therefore fail to see how she has signed up for something in this way.
This is dreadful and I cannot fathom out how they are getting away with downright theft.
People need to do more than just leave reviews on here! We have written to Martin Lewis and also reported it on Action Fraud. I'd encourage everyone to do the same to try and stop this awful scam.

ANNOYING

Received text messages saying I sign up fore Alert4U
I have not ? I have contacted them with their demand to say stop this alert But it seems they have this system rig.. I have emailed the company to stay stop .
But I feel that it's a waste of time.. because today I received another message
There needs to be some sort of system & control to stop this continuous annoying invasion of my text messaging service
I have tried to stop this text message But they are deaf to my demands
Hopefully this message might reach them..to say STOP STOP STOP ALERT4U ✋
