Have we been scammed??
When our water tank broke and we had a flood, we Googled “emergency plumber” and found All Home Repairs who arranged for Antony Abbott - AA Plumbing & Heating Ltd to come out. They charged us £180 as it was “out of hours” (it was Tuesday 21 April 2026 at 16:57). When “Tony” arrived, he drained our tank, capped it off, said tank was broken and we needed a new one. Said he’d price up and call “tomorrow” with a price. He did that and we were happy with price so he asked for half cost (£800) up front with another call out fee of £180. We paid by bank transfer and he emailed us an invoice. He said he’d come today (Friday 24 April 2026 at 8am) to install new tank. He never came!! We’ve tried all day to call on the number he gave (and on which he’d texted my husband from), but we either got answer phone or message to say call couldn’t connect. We emailed the address on his invoice - email bounced straight back. We phoned All Home Repairs 24/7 who assured us they’d used him “several times” and he was “reliable”. However, they couldn’t contact him on his mobile either. On the phone All Home said they a reputable company “on Trustpilot”. However, we wonder what checks All Home Repairs 24/7 conduct before sub-contracting the work out. We can only conclude that we have been victims of a scam, and consequently we have reported the matter to Action Fraud and our bank. We will see what happens.

We’d like to reassure you that all engineers we work with are vetted and insured before being accepted onto our platform. We have also worked with Antony Abbott for some time and, prior to this, have not experienced any issues of this nature.
Since this has been brought to our attention, we have been actively trying to make contact with him using the details we have on file, however we have also been unable to reach him so far. Please be assured that we are continuing to attempt contact and as soon as we receive any update, you will be the first to know.
We are truly sorry for the situation you’ve found yourselves in and the distress this has caused. While engineers operate independently, we are doing everything we can on our side to assist in getting clarity on this matter.

Had a burst radiator and it needed…
Had a burst radiator and it needed replacing asap. The person on the phone (wish I could remember their name) was super helpful, polite and patient as I had a bad phone line and had to keep asking them to repeat themselves. I had a plumber sent out to me very promptly (I remember his name, it was Victor) the plumber was courteous, friendly and did a wonderful job and all in all it cost about a third of the price that another company quoted me.
Couldn't be happier, going on my experience I highly recommend these guys.

Rang All Home Repairs with blocked toilet
Rang All Home Repairs as the cloakroom toilet was backing up due to a 'bloo loo' style plastic holder having fallen off the rim and flushed into the toilet. Registered an online enquiry and received a call back easily within 1 minute. Liam and his workmate from Jones Plumbing and Drainage arrived the next morning as agreed, removed the toilet to access the wastewater pipework, cleared the offending plastic holder to relieve the blockage and reinstalled the toilet all well within the q hour minimum charge. Excellent job, professional company with the knowledge and all the correct tools. I have no hesitation recommending AHR as a reliable contact for home repairs and particularly Jones Plumbing and Drainage. Liam's van has a cracking registration number too. Very apt 😂 Made me laugh.

Really prompt emergency service after…
Really prompt emergency service after my shower started to leak . A lovely plumber arrived , determined the shower had actually given up the ghost . Showed me all the parts that were broken , explained what had happened and why I needed a new shower . Capped the leak off until shower can be replaced, and left my bathroom spotless. All in all great service 👍 .

I rang All Home Repairs 24/7 for a leak…
I rang All Home Repairs 24/7 for a leak in my bathroom. I was really panicking. The plumbers came to me a couple of hours later. Alex spoke to me, explained the price to me. He then rang me back to say turn off the stopcock to save anymore water leaking through. Liam and his mate came, sorted the problem for me, even fixed my loose tap in my sink while they were here. Great service, friendly, so professional, came very quickly. Not overpriced at all. I would definitely recommend, so impressed l would highly recommend, plus their work is guaranteed too.

The response to my online enquiry was very efficient but rather expensive.
The response to my online enquiry was extremely quick and the process and costs were clearly explained to me. A plumber was identified and he quickly responded and we agreed a time for the repair. He turned up exactly on time and fixed my problem. Throughout the process the operator, Holly, was very professional and helpful. I would have awarded 5 stars but reduced the rating because of the high call out charge. Overall I was impressed with the efficiency of the service.

Liam’s writing a report for the home insurance to support my claim and helped me source a plasterer for patching up the damage. Would recommend using the company.

We called around 7pm as toilet seat was…
We called around 7pm as toilet seat was detached from the mains. They asked us to pay a call out fee of £80 and said that the plumber will come to us very soon in an hour or so. After paying, they ask us to upload a photo. Then they called back saying that they will not be able to come and fix it. At first they said maybe come in the morning then they said they will not able to come to fix it at all. When asked about how are they going to refund the call out charge, they said it would be 3 days. They haven’t taken our bank details so not sure how are they going to refund us. We felt deceived saying they will come to see us after we pay the call out charge but they never did. Really bad experience from this company. They are just after taking money from you.
An update: 23/04/26
£80 call out charge was refunded.
They also offered 50% to get work done but we have declined as work was already done by someone else.

From our side, as soon as the booking was made, we did request further details and asked for photos to better understand the issue. The job was initially described as a toilet seat being detached; however, the image provided showed that the toilet itself was off the unit, which is a much larger and different type of job than originally outlined.
Unfortunately, due to this, our available engineers were not equipped to carry out the work, and we had to cancel the booking. We do apologise for this and any inconvenience caused.
Regarding the refund, we did request your bank details straight away in order to process this for you as quickly as possible.
If you could please contact our office directly, we will make sure this is sorted for you as soon as possible.
Again, we’re very sorry for the experience and appreciate your understanding.
Fantastic all around
After being left by another company for 5 days without heating or hot water I called this company and spoke with Ben who was a breath of fresh air. Within an hour he had sorted someone to come out (on a Saturday aswell) and a few hours later the boiler guy was here. Ash was absolutely amazing and got the job done in less than hour. Amazing service, could not recommend them enough

Don't use this company, absolute scam. I thought they were a genuine firm but they are basically a 'middleman' who arrange for a firm/contractor to call you to do the repair. I was charged £180 by them for a gas engineer to call me and then charged a further £180 for the call out😡. It transpired a fuse spare had been accidentally turned off for the boiler, so a flick of the swith and £360 bill. Absolutely scandalous. I sent a WhatsApp to the company complaining but did not get a response!! My advice is avoid and call a trades person directly or use a site like checkatrade, and save yourself an extortionate admin fee. Wish I had😡.

Our service goes beyond simply arranging a call — it includes a full triage and inspection process, where we assess the issue with both you and the engineer to ensure the right person attends as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, without attending the property, it’s not always possible to determine whether a job will take 5 minutes or 2 hours. In your case, it turned out to be a quick fix, which we completely understand can feel frustrating. However, you did receive a same-day emergency call-out, which is something we prioritise for urgent situations.
Our service also includes a 12-month warranty on the issue resolved, along with ongoing support for peace of mind after the visit.
We’re also sorry to hear that you didn’t receive a response to your WhatsApp — that’s not the level of service we aim to provide, and we would genuinely like the opportunity to look into this further for you.
Your feedback is important to us, and we do take it seriously as we continue to improve our service.
Very good service but an expensive way of doing things
Very good service. Technician attended within time frame and to good standard. The downside is that you pay twice as much as going to tradesman direct. They didn't make this clear until quite a way into the call and by then you feel committed (and desperate, as was a sewage problem).
