Had new windows fitted by Amber Home Improvements and I’m really impressed. Professional, friendly team, great quality work, and a noticeable improvement in insulation and noise reduction. Highly recommend!

Indeed, 1 star seems harsh. However, I feel in this case justified. I had a terrace front door and frame fitted and a small back bathroom window.
The first fit had to be ripped out as the front door was off centre by 6cm, had a 15mm gap between frame and wall that had mastic slopped into the gap. The frame had been cracked but this had not been owned up too. Beading had been fitted incorrectly and the top light was off centre with the rest of the door.
The small window had glass we didn't order and 6cm beading was put around the inside of the fit to hide scratches to the interior window sill (still there).
Numerous calls and inspections later and a great deal of temper suppression and we are just about there. The work started around March, completed by end of June
I still have not receive my fensa certificate and getting hold of anyone is impossible today.
Karen, who I can only assume is a one woman army, is the saving grace of this outfit. I hope they pay her well for she holds that ship together.

Sorry for the poor review, but when I pay over 3.5k for a door and window I don't expect to project manage the company I'm paying for this service, let alone have to quality check all your work, remind you of your admin, point out all the flaws in the job twice and to the quality checker who missed several issued, including the cracked frame. Why do you not have a quality checklist? You should be doing this yourselves.
I will be using another company for all my other jobs.

We had a lovely experience from point of sale- which was consultative and not pushy through to installation. The job had a minor delay due to weather but the team communicated clearly and got it done in the end.

We decided to replace our aged conservatory and wanted to go for a warm roof as well, as we had the usual problem of too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. We visited a number of showrooms locally, but we were hugely impressed with the set up at Amber as soon as we set foot in there.
John, our sales contact, was informative and helpful when it came to making our decision on various designs offered, and Glenn, the surveyor, went over and above with his attention to detail and willingness to help.
Construction wise, the team (builders/electrician/plasterers) were outstanding and did a first class job in very cold weather conditions, turning up when expected and showing great attention to detail in the build. The site was left clean and tidy afterwards too, with all waste removed.
We noticed a couple of small snags after the work was completed and raised them with Karen in the office. She was very helpful and had the issues sorted within 48 hours, which was excellent service.
We now have a lovely, stylish, more serviceable garden room and the new warm roof system with skylights has made the temperatures inside more bearable so the room can be used in all weathers.
We are very pleased with the whole package and have recommended Amber to friends who are also looking for similar work.

Our experience with Amber was excellent. Full communication throughout the build of our extension. Everything went smoothly and any issues were sorted out with effiency. We are now having our front door and porch done with them as we were so pleased with the care and attention to detail.

The man who came round to change our front door was on time, neat & tidy, very pleasant, cleared up after and checked everything worked OK. We were very pleased.

AVOID - Not Compliant with Building Regs/British Standards/Supply of Goods and Services Act
In August 2024 Amber installed 15 windows, 2 sets of patios doors (Envisage Flush) and 1 front door. Issues were raised immediately and after attending 2 full day remedial site visits following installation, 75 issues were still outstanding on their report. We cancelled the 3rd remedial visit due to further significant failings of the units and raised a section 75 claim to reject the units. Amber refused, insisting on a RISA report (an independent review body). RISA attended site and in their report, CONDEMNED THEM, CITING NON COMPLIANCES WITH BUILDING REGS AND BRITISH STANDARDS FOR THE WAY THEY WERE FITTED AND THE PRODUCT ITSELF. Amber still refused rejection, stating our issues were a "product" issue despite independent evidence that their FITTERS did NOT INSTALL TO BUILDING REGS (Non compliance to document C) OR BRITISH STANDARDS BS8213-4 or installed them "with reasonable care and skill under THE SUPPLY OF GOODS AND SERVICES ACT 1982".
In addition to all these failures, Amber installed inferior 24mm sealed units in the windows, when they quoted and charged for 28mm (photos attached in Google Review). They have never addressed or explained this.
We have had 9 months battling this company to agree a rejection and a cancellation of the finance agreement (luckily we paid only £100 deposit on 6 months interest free finance (payment only going to them on signing off the job as satisfactory - thank goodness). Their customer service is appalling, management do not respond, even the finance company had to uphold 2 complaints that this had taken too long to resolve (because Amber failed to respond in any timely fashion to them). Amber refused us compensation for months of stress and anxiety, the time off work for all the extra site visits, wasting 9 months of our lives and leaving us for 9 months with proven water ingress and thermally inefficient windows throughout the entirety of winter. This has all been evidenced and sent to Novuna, the GGF, Trading Standards and FENSA. Amber may have many good online reviews, but looking good on the surface isn't enough. Our 18 condemned units were installed in Aug 24 and removed and collected (after 9 months of dogged chasing and complaining) in May 25 (picture of the removed units in G reviews) when Amber finally and grudgingly conceded rejection.
If you value your home, and haven't the time, resources, tenacity and willingness to fight your corner for months and put faults right yourself when it goes wrong - this may not be the company for you.
One last word of warning, only 1 of 18 units were sealed between the frames & sub sills upon installation (Non-Compliancy with Approved Document C of Building Regs for contaminants & moisture, see G review photo) and & BS8213-4, and the Envisage Range failing Building regs for thermal efficiency (report quote "Window Draughts - Potential Remedial: None possible. Non compliancy with Approved Document L (Thermal efficiency) of the Building Regulations") could only be acceptably proven by RISA, therefore, if you have issues with water ingress, damp, contaminants and drafts, you may have failures you are unaware of. Also check your glass mm! If we can save even one person/family from what we've been through then at least our horrendous experience won't have been for nothing.

From the initial enquiry up to finished installation Amber were professional and did everything they committed to.
We have a fantastic new door at a great price.
When we require new windows I will go to them without contacting any other suppliers.
I requested 2 additional quotes from 2 national suppliers- neither of which sent me a quote, however inundated me with pestering sales calls from taking my personal data.

Efficient, experienced, friendly service

I was hopeful at first as my previsit call although not answered a lady rang me back apologised she couldn’t get to phone in time I was impressed. I checked opening times and the fact I was looking for light weight conservatory roof she said the had several on display.
I told her we wanted to understand the structure and see what was available she told me fine.
So today we drove 65miles to Norwich
To be greeted by a voice behind a pc screen didn’t even get up off her chair
I told her our reason for the visit and she just said yeah in there pointing to show room as though I was stupid.
We walk around the show room eventually the woman came out. I told her again what we wanted and asked about starting prices as we had little idea. what structure are there and do you have pamphlets.
She couldn’t give prices she couldn’t tell anything about the roof and no pamphlets information and could do nothing without a designer being there
So not sure the point of opening
We walked out a complete waste of time and an unnecessary journey

Had to have a shattered glass panel in my conservatory roof replaced.All work was carried out with a minimum of fuss or disruption.All broken glass cleared up and unit fits perfectly.

We are thrilled with a new Amber door. The whole process ran smoothly from beginning to end and we found every member of Amber staff friendly and helpful. Thank you Amber.

Amber home improvements offer competitive prices, they kept me up to date with dates and times for the work. The work was completed on time and the door looks great. There were a couple of small faults with the door but Amber responded quickly and got them sorted

We have just completed our refurbished conservatory and overall it has been a really great success. From the original meeting with Joe trying to upgrade our polycarbonate flat roof to something more interesting and then to visiting the showroom and seeing more options and then designing a bespoke solution using a modular system the process was easy and straightforward.
The communication regarding the installation was excellent and as this was a holiday home and we were unable to be there we gave the fitters keys for access.
The work was carried out on time to a high standard and we were kept involved by the installation team at all stages typically being asked questions re lighting etc.
We are very happy with the end result which has transformed the room and would certainly recommend Amber to others who want a quality experience.

I live in a really nice close,and every house has had their windows replaced with the modern plastic windows some better than others.l was a bit reluctant to have mine done but as the years have gone by I was very wary of being up a ladder at my age . I looked at quite a range of windows and finally settled on Amber because of the wide range and styles. I had the front of the house done first as they were in need of some serious renovation. I was so pleased with the look and the cleanliness of the installers ,that this year l had them back to do the rear of the house and the doors.l am totally glad I did go with amber ,they are not the cheapest but they are guaranteed for 20 years and stand out from many of the others in the close.l know I'm going on a bit but l am so pleased with the look and the hassle free installation. Bought my property with a 3 year old Amber Home Improvements Conservatory - have spend over 2 years trying to get them to transfer the warranty into my name. Was told originally that the warranty is for the person and not for the conservatory!!
