Fantastic service, very thorough house buyer survey. They were available to answer our questions. Unfortunately, our sale fell through so we couldn't purchase the house but the survey and estate agents (Weardale Properties) were the best part.

I was assigned Andrew James Surveyors for a L2 survey on a B2L in Newcastle through a intermediary service (GOTO group) and I'm very pleased we were! They were good value for money and produced a very thorough survey and answered some additional questions I had without hesitation. I can now go to them direct in future! Would recommend.

We have used Andrew James Property Surveyors twice. Both times we received a thorough and detailed report, which was clear and easy to read. The surveys gave us the information we required to decide whether to proceed with the house purchase, and we would be happy to use Andrew and the team again.

I needed to get a survey done for a property I was purchasing - first time I have had to do this, so was not sure what to expect, but had been given Andrew James Property Services as a contact. I have to say that my dealings with them were very positive. Everything got sorted in my initial phone conversation with Josh the office manager, confirmed in writing shortly after and signed off the next day. The date for the survey was confirmed very promptly. Once it was done, Mike the surveyor phoned me to talk me through the report & emailed it a day or so later, and phoned me again in response to my comments/ questions. The report itself was very comprehensive and detailed, serving as a really helpful checklist of work - interior and exterior - which could be done on the property if necessary or desired. So, from start to finish the team members were friendly and efficient and, if ever need to get involved in purchasing a property again (and I really hope not!) I would definitely look to use them again - and would be happy to recommend them.

Great service very professional and knowledgeable service , Michael carried out the inspection he was great, explained everything so we could understand (no jargon ) he responded to my emails/phone calls without delay , and really put my mind to rest , great service by all , if I had one negative it was the length of time for start to finish from Aug-Oct ( from inspection to report was only a week ) maybe this is testament to how busy and popular the company are.
Out of the 5 quotes I received they were the second dearest however I always go on reviews/ recommendations you get what you pay for excellent service .

Had offer accepted on property in Crook on 16th August 2024, was provided details of Andrew James surveyors by estate agent (Weardale Property Agency) following previous positive comments from customers. We therefore spoke to Andrew regarding completing a surveyor but due to tight timescales had asked for inspection to be done prior to 4th September, Andrew was very accommodating enrolling Colin Bell to conduct the survey. Full inspection report was available from 10th September which was professionally layout with excellent level of detail providing us with confidence we had made the right choice in buying the house. Andrew provided us with outstanding service. The reports he prepared were extensive and covered all aspects of the property, and he called us after completing the survey to provide a summary of his findings. We followed that up with an in depth discussion on the areas that required particular attention, using the comprehensive report that was prepared, including an extensive library of photographs. Andrew provided his expert opinion and guidance to assist us to make an informed decision. Given the nature of the property, this support was invaluable, and I would therefore highly recommend Andrew James if you are looking for a very reliable surveyor that provides a personal touch.

Andrew was able to help and give advice on everything that I enquired about and also came up with solutions.

We recently had a property that we are buying surveyed by Andrew. The report was extremely thorough, accurate and very personal to the house. We very quickly got the impression that a huge amount of time had been spent in the house itself, taking measurements and taking photos, but also in writing the report to such great detail and clarity. We wanted to speak to Andrew about the report directly and he was more than happy to do this and was perfectly accommodating when it came to finding a time that worked for us all. Andrew spoke with such enthusiasm on this topic that it made the conversation really interesting and we were able to engage with it the whole way through. He also used simple terms, sentences and analogies so that we could completely understand the points he was making. This was both really helpful and reassuring to me especially, as a first time buyer with very little knowledge in this area. He also gave us solid, fair advice that was easy to action, being careful not to overwhelm. He was also entirely pragmatic and diplomatic and was able to see and explain the viewpoints of the vendors as well as the buyers. Andrew came across as really personable, kind and funny.
