Annie Mo’s is an independent, family-run furniture and homeware shop located on Union Street in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was founded in 1991 by Judith McDonald and has grown into a beloved local institution over more than three decades, now run by Judith alongside her daughter Emily. The shop specialises in a wide range of furniture, accessories, giftware and home décor, with styles that mix classic pieces and unique items that appeal to interior design enthusiasts and gift seekers alike. You can find everything from sofas, chairs and tables to smaller decorative objects such as candles, clocks and baskets — often described as quirky or characterful rather than ultra-polished. Annie Mo’s has a strong reputation in the community for its distinctive retail experience, combining personal service with a curated selection of products. It has been recognised beyond Aberdeen too — most notably being named the UK’s Favourite Local Business in a national competition, reflecting its popularity with locals and visitors alike. The store sits in the heart of Aberdeen’s shopping district and also operates a warehouse nearby, making it a go-to for both browsing and buying pieces for homes throughout the UK.

NOT recommendable

NOT recommendable! After purchase and payment you'll be then informed, after several requests via all available channels, that the item is out of stock, but that they will get back to you immediately. To date, I have received nothing and my emails have been ignored.

Avoid, almost fraudulent.

I ordered a bookcase costing £396 from Annie Mo's. Despite several attempts to contact them regarding delivery, no one got back to me. I tried email / phone/ whatsapp & messenger. I ended up cancelling the order after a month of no communication. Thankfully I paid by credit card and have been refunded. Annie Mo's have again today taken the £396 from my credit card......no communication from them. The credit card company have created a dispute log for this company.

5 Star service & items

Really pleased with goods. One item was out of stock so they called and asked if I wanted part delivery or wanted to wait until all stock had arrived. During COVID-19 they delivered FOC for orders within 30miles of Aberdeen. Can’t wait until the shop is after Lockdown and be able to browse the beautiful shop again

HIGHLY DELIGHTED

Ordered 2 x decorative purple and green artichoke heads - which arrived as advised and well packaged. Really pleased with them - they look classy and offers a unique look. Would have given 5 stars but think shipping of £4.95 is excessive bearing in mind the many numerous items I have purchased online.

Avoid this company. Take your money, don’t deliver product and ignore correspondence

Do not order from this company. I made an order in October, for almost £400 thankfully through PayPal. I have sent various emails, which they ignore as I still haven’t received my order or had a single update on when I could expect it, despite my emails.

I made a comment on their Instagram post after several emails and they replied within hours, promising a refund, which I still don’t have. They have since deleted my post on Instagram, which makes me further question their integrity.

They have promised me a refund and I still haven’t received it.

I think this company may be a fraud so recommend avoiding.

Terrible experience.

Terrible experience.

I ordered a floor lamp, "Large Bulb Metal Floor Lamp with filament Blub" at £190 but it arrived without the filament bulb. I contacted Annie Mos who said "maybe the filament bulb is the glass part"... no. A filament bulb is a filament bulb and they’re advertising something that they are not fulfilling. I messaged them twice about this since and they ignored me. I then unpacked a mirror at £145 we had pre-ordered, only to find that it was FILTHY and upon inserting the batteries found that it didn’t work and is faulty. Again, I messaged them and this time Emily got back to me and actually called me “nasty” because I asked for a refund for the mirror. I’ve since emailed them requesting a refund within 14 days as told to by Trading Standards and they’ve ignored that too.

Honestly avoid this company at all costs - they seem lovely until something is wrong at which point they want nothing to do with you. They need a lesson in Customer Service!!! I also work in retail and we would never, ever dream of treating our customers in this manner. I’d love to actually speak to the business owner about their processes, instead of always having to deal with Emily who should honestly not be in the job.

Damaged Item, Shop not interested.

Purchased a large framed picture for £149 for my wife's birthday in May this year which arrived with the frame scratched. I reported the damage to the shop on the day my wife unwrapped the picture, this was 2 weeks after arrival (it had been unopened in storage at my parents as it was a surprise I could not conceal ). The shop agreed to send out a replacement however I had to cover postage to return the damaged item (£30) which I agreed due to me reporting the damage late. the replacement item arrived in due course however the frame was also scratched. I contacted the shop immediately and provided images of the damage, they said they were waiting on a shipment (yes you guessed it from China) and would replace when new stock arrived. We are now in December, 7 months after purchase and still no replacement. Very disappointing customer service.

Payed £385 for mirror in Jan (including delivery costs). In 15th of August told me no money to cover the costs of delivery

I ordered a mirror in January 2020. I paid £360 + delivery 25£.

The mirror broke on its way and had to be re-scheduled. I received an email with photos after I requested few times the status of my order.

COVID Came in.

I was calling sometimes, they told me that by 15th of June the product would arrive from Holland.
I have been calling them and mailing them every week. Asking them to give me email with the status, so I can formally complain, escalate, etc.

In 15th of August or so, the mirror arrived to their warehouse.

They increased the price of the mirror in their website as well, substantially to £495

They state that the money I paid for the delivery is not enough. They would be at a loss.

I have been asking them to send me an email with my options, like refund, pay a bit more of delivery or any other option.

They just don't take me serious and are not replying me to any of my emails with a written update.

That is the formality and consideration you can expect from this shop.
