From the outset, Ark Design and Build inspired confidence. The five-month waiting list alone told us we were dealing with a reputable company with no shortage of quality work.

Piers visited early on to understand our requirements properly, and the follow-up was excellent, with detailed drawings and a full spec arriving promptly by email. The deposit structure was transparent and reasonable throughout.

Steff was our main point of contact on the ground and was absolutely outstanding. He handled virtually everything from first fix through to final finish, and his workmanship was of the highest quality. He was easy to talk to, accommodating with layout ideas, and happy to help with the small things too, mounting the TV, positioning the heater, whatever we needed. He kept the site tidy daily and always gave us a heads up if plans changed. You couldn't ask for more from a tradesperson.
Any questions or minor adjustments along the way were handled quickly and professionally by Tim over email, with great response times and genuinely helpful throughout.

The finished garden office is exactly what we hoped for and worth every penny. Yes, cheaper options exist, but I wouldn't hesitate to choose Ark again. They came highly recommended by a friend, and they absolutely lived up to that recommendation.

I'd recommend them without reservation, and we'll certainly be back in touch for any future projects.

Ark just completed a 30sq m garden room. We wanted a gym / office with a small store. Tim was amazing at working with us to get the design just how we wanted. Tim and James did the build, and have done a remarkable job. They are incredibly good at what they do, and the finish is outstanding.

The communication and service throughout was brilliant. Always wanting to help us get the space exactly how we wanted, and bringing ideas that they felt could improve things.

Ark Design have just completed our new garden office room, and the result is nothing short of outstanding. From start to finish, Piers and George demonstrated a level of skill, precision, and craftsmanship that you simply don’t come across very often. Every cut, joint, and finish feels intentional and expertly executed — the kind of workmanship that reminds you of the great master builders of history, the Brunels and the Gaudís of the world, who understood that true quality lies in the details.

The finish is impeccable. Every surface is smooth, every line is clean, and the whole structure feels solid, refined, and beautifully put together. The workmanship was seamless throughout — you can tell they take immense pride in what they do.

What impressed us just as much was how tidy and respectful they were on site. Each day the workspace was left spotless, tools organised, materials stacked neatly, and not a trace of mess left behind. It made the whole experience stress‑free and surprisingly enjoyable.

Arks Team did a wonderful job on our garden studio with canopy. Although there was a slight delay due to bad weather which was out of their hands; their communication/customer service throughout was impeccable and the quality of build & attention to detail was brilliant. We didn't feel in the dark at any point. They clearly strive towards perfection. We couldn't have asked for a better service!

We asked Tim and his team to build a granny annexe in our garden, complete with full planning consent. It includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, and even though the site and time of year made things tricky, their advice, flexibility in adapting the specification during the project, and attention to detail made the whole process smooth. The build quality is superb, and the finished annexe looks fantastic — we couldn’t be happier.

From breaking ground to moving in, everything was finished within twelve weeks. Communication was excellent throughout — we always knew what was happening and when, and everything ran exactly to schedule. Tim managed all interactions with additional parties from the planning stage onwards, kept the site spotless, and the team have been an absolute pleasure to have on-site.

If you’re thinking about adding a garden annexe, we honestly couldn’t recommend Ark more highly.

Tim and his team built a pod 2 years ago at a high standard which we use as a home office. More recently the sliding doors were sticking due to the heat and Tim came out and made adjustments. As a favour he also sorted out my side gate. Great build and a 5 star after sales service.

We were lucky enough to be recommended this company by a friend. We had an annexe built to replace an old garage so that our teenage children could have bedrooms and a bathroom separate from the main house.
Piers and his team, (particularly George) were very good from helping us get planning permission and building control, right through to the little details that we had asked for. They were always around to be able to contact/call and happy to oblige to things we had forgotten in the initial plans. It was amazing what was accomplished in such a small amount of time.
We are so pleased with the overall result adding a two extra bedrooms and a bathroom rather than having to move house.

We used Ark Design for a garden room over looking the valley next to our house.

It was a 5x3m room with a 1m deck and overhang and with a built in WC. The whole of the front is bifold and it’s been brilliant for the summer weather.

From start to finish they were a pleasure to work with, from concept and design, through to build, and post build check in to make sure that we were happy.

The build quality is excellent and they are open to making changes to the design right the way through the process.

I have no hesitation in recommending them. It’s possibly the best purchase we’ve ever made as a family. We all love it, whether it’s for reading or my daughter painting, to just chilling out and enjoying the view.

It’s become a fantastic retreat without having to get in the car.

This is the second bespoke garden studio that Ark have built for us, and once again, we couldn’t be happier. The first was a fully soundproofed recording studio at our previous home, built to an incredibly high standard. That process only reinforced our confidence in choosing Ark again.

Piers provided drawings that catered my needs with very reasonable price. When on site, the build went very smoothly, all of the team members (Dave, Jack and the electricians) were friendly and worked hard. They kept me informed on the next days plans. Our family members are delighted with the new garden studio. Overall, I would highly recommended this company.

This Friday was the completion of our garden office, 6 months of planning and built in 3 weeks, thanks to the capable hands of Ark Design Build, special thanks to Tim, Ark Design GM and extra bonus points to Steffan who almost built it all on his own, supported by James, their top electrician. Built an entirely bespoke garden gym in a small and awkward shaped place. Amazing communication, great craftsmanship, they really looked after us. The end product was beyond our expectations to the point that our neighbours took inspiration and are looking to hire the guys as well.
