I have ordered some foreign currency on line , complete the order. All done, better exchange rate. Got email for comfirmation to pick my currency on Thursday. Went there on Thursday but counter was clossed. It made me angry as ASDA travel money didn't inform their customers as their foreign exchange desk is closed for the day. I tried ringing but no response, finally got the contact details for direct Asda travel money as they told me that their staff member is sick, but to my knowledge Asda should inform their customers as we made special journey to asda to pick my order.....it made me angry, upset, & frustrated. Luckily I have1 spare day to go, again went there next day to pick my order. Wasted time ...
Smooth experience
Hima was a great advisor and made the process very efficient with her professional attitude.

Got annual travel insurance today on the phone and considering I have existing medical conditions Jade completed my policy within 15 minutes. Brilliant i had previously been talking to other insurance companies for over an hour and were a total waste of time.
Now sorted for 12 months and a lot cheaper than all the other companies. Brilliant service.

Beyond appalling
Dreadful. Gave me wrong money. Going to Romania and was given Hungarian. Did not check as didn't think I had to. Attitude appalling when I went back to exchange. Said they don't deal in Romanian money and refuses to accept their mistake. They should have told me that at time as I was NOT going to Hungary. Told me ivwas a liar Will never use them again. Avoid at all costs!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
What a joke this card/company is. First of all their exchange rate is bad, it's better if you top up via online banking but still not comparable to other places.
I tried to use the card while on Vacation in the Maldives and found that it wasn't working, turns out they put my account on hold as they wanted a copy of ID and bank statement, even though I opened the account IN PERSON at a store with my PASSPORT and paid CASH. Long story short I had to use my visa to pay in the Maldives which incurred some penalties being abroad which was the exact thing I was trying to avoid.
Customer service is terrible and called me from the Philippines (from a Missouri number). You need access to your email anytime you want to sign in as it sends a code every time.
Poorly designed app and information
I wanted to top-up my Asda Travel Card with Euros using the phone app for the first time. By mistake I selected 'move funds' instead of 'top-up', 'Move Money' is the phrase used in my banking app when I want to pay money which I think is why I made the error. I ended up transferring all my existing Euros to US Dollars. I thought I could easily correct this mistake as the Asda Travel Money Card instructions claim you can move money between currency wallets for no fee so I transferred the dollars back to the currency I wanted - Euros. This mistake cost me over 10% of the Euro funds I started with. This was all done within a short time. So much for free transfers between wallets. They should add that you will be charged their exchange rate on the day of transfer. Unlike banking apps there aren't any clear checks asking you to confirm what you may or may not want to do and what the cost will be. Very poor.
Nasty pig headed people
Everyone listen up this is a warning do not go asda buying your travel money for holiday abroad as all they ever do is rip people off left right and centre all they're ever bothered and concerned about the most is scamming customers while asda continue to pocket any extras that's just simply not hitting the company fund instead I believe asda travel workers are using any extras for their own personal use out of work and come on guys that ain't right so please do not go anywhere near asda they're money grabbing balls

Account issues & no customer service
After loading my card with over €500 in the weeks leading up to my holiday I found that I couldn’t log into the account. I contacted customer services to be told that the account was showing as closed with zero balance, this was a Friday night & I flew out in the early hours of Sunday morning. I was told my complaint would be resolved within 24 hours and I’d receive an email or call to update me. I received an email the following day closing my complaint but still couldn’t log in, many lengthy calls (some from Spain whilst I was on holiday) over the following days and the issue still stood. After checking the account daily I finally found I could log into my account & my balance had reappeared on the Tuesday, no call or email from them. I raised a further complaint on my return with an auto email stating 1-2 days response lead time. I received an email 2 weeks later letting me know my account was showing as open & active so they hadn’t bothered actually reading my complaint. Shocking service & could have easily ruined the first 2 days of my holiday, avoid!!

Ryan at Asda Hunts Cross
was so helpful. We had not ordered our dollars and wanted £1000 worth. Ryan rang other branches until he found them for us at Widnes. He went above and beyond and he is a credit to you.
Terrible service
Terrible service. I spent just under £500 on Euros. Was meant to get 550 Euros. Was given 450 euros because the lady at the travel kiosk in Blackburn can't count! I thought it was odd but then checked my receipt about 2 metres away and as it said 550 I assumed wrongly that I'd got it wrong. Got 300 miles away to go on holiday and realised I was 100 euros short on my money. They must have financial checks in place surely! A simple check of their accounts at the kiosk at the end of the day would have shown the Euros were up in their till - but two days later and I've not had any luck. Now I'd ask anyone to question why they have nothing in place for mistakes like this. Banks and shops cash up and balance the books - but evidently not Blackburn Asda. Just keep getting told to email them now. I've had enough and will be telling everyone I know not to ever use a Travel Kiosk at Asda - and definitely not Blackburn - as they can't count and are not helpful when someone that works for them can't count it seems! Disgusted and short on my holiday money now. What an absolute farce and the worst experience I've ever had buying travel money from anywhere!
bad exchange rates and IT system not working
Tried to sell foreign currency (buyback) to Asda travel money. First, I was told to visit after 10am as their system starts then. Then, I was told their system is down and asked to leave my mobile number and they would call me back when it's working. They never call me. Their rates was bad too. Finally, I sold my foreign notes to the Post office, which has a far better exchange rate and staff are more friendly and helpful.

I registered my card on the app as…
I registered my card on the app as instructed. Once I’d done this I wasn’t able to login the app. I rang customer service to be told that they didn’t know why this was but I could login to the website. This was true but once in the website there’s not a lot you can do. I couldn’t even revel my pin. I rang customer services again and they didn’t resolve the problem. The outcome is I’m going to have to go to a an Asda branch and withdraw the money over the counter.
wouldn't touch with a barge-pole
wouldn't touch with a barge-pole after my last trip to Spain, no atms were free of charge, i went to 5 and range charges were between 1.90euro to 7 euro in santander, every ATM i went to i cancelled my withdrawal and on one i cancelled it actually changed my credit by 300 euro, i went thru the process of removing 300 euro but after seeing the charge i cancelled and just as well i collected all receipts as it actually showed i had removed the money when i hadn't. i had to call there number to get help and got Taiwan, Singapore or somewhere similar for the call centre, that was absolute murder but was told id here from them within 1/2 days working day. Never heard a thing, called them again and they said i had to send a picture of my receipt to show i cancelled, i did this as mentioned just as well my fiance said take receipts, after calling again it was still being looked into. Long story short i got my money back after 8 days, just as well my fiance had extra money or i would have been screwed.
Never again, dont believe if they say ATMs are free and always take receipts. Going to asda today to take my money out in euros for next holiday as im not losing more money changing into sterling.
PS - They wouldn't swap my money for euros only sterling, so that wasn't worth it due to the charge they make so need to leave now for my next holiday and fingers crossed i get out with no hassle :(
Legitimate identification
Went to collect MY prepaid travel money from Asda I had my expired driving licence and was told it’s not acceptable. It was good enough to vote last week but not good enough for Asda. Thanks for the extra journey

My partner and i had travel insurance a few years back and a few hours before we were going to Malta on holiday her father passed away.
They didn't pay out because we didn't supply full medical records from her fathers doctor.
Death certificate wasn't enough and we didn't want to put her mother through anymore suffering by asking her to obtain these records.
Absolutely disgusting way to treat someone who has just lost their father.
They had the cheek a few weeks later to try and take renewal from us.
