Painful doesn’t even begin to describe this

Submitted a claim in April for a trip that was cancelled due to COVID. My policy was taken out last year and Asda have advised that I am covered. We are now in August and still no decision.
Clearly delay tactics used by their provider Travel Claims Services.
Submitted information in the way they requested with all the information they asked for. Received an auto-reply which stated 21 days max. response time.
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and call them 30 days later - I’m told that my claim email hasn’t been opened and is in a queue. The advisors on the phone can only see submitted claims once another department open and upload the information and the wait time is actually more like 45 days.
It’s 2020; they might as well request you send them your claim via fax machine/pigeon.
I decide to give it another 3 weeks and phone again. Im advised that they must have still not opened my claim, so the advisor tells me he can set me up with a claim number there and then so that when they do eventually get to my email they can add it all.
The advisor then asks how I submitted my claim. I told him I followed their websites process to the letter. BUT, the website fails to tell you a key piece of information. Their servers can only receive 10MB max. So due to the large amount of information required for a claim, you actually need to send multiple emails. Convenient for them and wasted me well over a month.

Nearly a month on and I receive an email requesting information which they already have. I respond immediately with the information requested again and again receive an auto reply stating 21 days max until they respond.
I have just called again, and told that their current wait time is actually 45 days. So why not just update your auto reply?

I tell the guy that they’ve had everything they’ve requested and they need to make a decision either way. He’s unable to make that decision. An assessor will review the additional information and then get in contact with me.

I ask if they will call me so I can get just get this sorted and if the assessor tells me he needs more information or to ask any questions I can just give it to him. This would be far too simple and effective. Instead, the assessor will email me if they have any questions or need additional/the same information, and I have to respond by email and then wait another 21 (or 45 days).

This is painful. Avoid like you would a lift if you saw someone walk in before you with a continuous chesty cough and fever.

The best part is ASDA renewed my annual policy, even though I advised them I would never touch them again with a barge pole. I now have to wait 30 days until I get the renewal money back for a policy I didn’t even authorise.

Awful

In February 2020 bought insurance for a holiday bought in January 2020. Told my insurance is no good for anything linked to Covid-19 and if we did go on holiday later this year and caught the virus and needed hospital. What is the good of insurance and it not being useful. Complete and utter waste of money. Will not be using ASDA travel insurance again

Awful!!

Have always used asda travel insurance and thankfully have never had to call for a claim or cancellation, unfortunately this year our wedding and holiday abroad has all been cancelled due to covid, I have had nothing but trouble trying to change my travel insurance to my new holiday date which wasn’t possible and it has taken 3 months to try and claim my refund! I called prior to my holiday and tried to change but was told to call closer to date, was unable to get through on numerous attempts, finally got through after my holiday date and was told I would be called back in a few days to confirm cancellation gone through, one month on and no phone call I have called again today and have been told I’m only entitled to 80 percent as I didn’t cancel!!! And I now have to wait up to 30 working days for my refund!! I will definitely never be using asda travel insurance again and will no longer be recommending to family and friends!

Definitely a Travel Insurer to be careful of

Two issues in hindsight.
In February 2020 bought insurance for a holiday bought in January 2020. All our holidays are none starters now so rang customer service. Told our insurance is no good for anything linked to Covid-19 and if we did go on holiday later this year and caught the virus and needed hospital care we would have to pay it all ourselves. We are over 70 years old so you can imagine the stress and financial burden this would cause.
I used them last year and realised in February they had auto renewed our policy and I know I had not opted for this. I did get a refund on that

Not a good insurer

Horrendous

Horrendous! Nearly three months dealing with my cancellation due to COVID19 and they are using every delay tactic under the sun and asking for more and more. Do not use them!

Don’t bother with this insurance company!

We’ve just sent this to Asda Travel after purchasing their most expensive premium and curtailing our travel from Spain! A total waste of a lot of money!

‘This is why people think insurance companies are a waste of time! We’ve waited months for this news! We curtailed our travels because of advice from the FCO and the fear of losing the insurance we paid a lot of money for! We’d still be travelling if this hadn’t happened and our journey home would not have been the highly expensive route we had no option but to take! We’re disgusted! As per your extremely bad reviews on line we will never use you again or recommend you to anyone else’!

Needless to say we got nothing!

I have an ongoing claim with Asda Travel Insurance

I have an ongoing travel claim which has been running for nearly four months with no one having looked at it yet. For others in a similar position you may want to submit a formal complaint. The administrators are Travel Claims Services and you can do this with them. If everyone does this each complaint costs them hundreds of pounds to review and they may become more likely to pay your claim in a timely manner and stop all these delaying tactics.

Worst

This is by far the worst travel insurance!!! If I could rate a negative star for this!! They charge your debit card for a previously paid insurance without you knowing. And when you call their hotline, it will take more than an hour to wait and talk to someone to raise a complain. They will say they don’t know why there is a charge and it is not seen on their system. Disgusting! Never again will I purchase this insurance. Good thing the banks are able to help me with these sneaky charges. Beware and please avoid at all costs!

We had single trip travel insurance for…

We had single trip travel insurance for our trip to New York in May 2020,because of covid 19 I rearrange my trip for a future date. I phoned 4 times to ask for a refund on my insurance, the guy I spoke to said "the refund was approved apart from 10 percent" I accepted and he stated that I would receive an email and the money refunded on the card I used, I never did receive a refund and when I phoned again(. Which was after the date of the that we should of travelled) another guy said it was to late. A total con. Never use Asda travel insurance.

Only left socks..

Ran out of socks cause too many holes in them.

Bought 7 packs of X3 socks got home..they are only for the left foot! Why would there be 7 packs of only left feet!? I now have to go court with one sock on, Im half tempted to put both left socks on left and right foot but a little scared I will be walking around in circles in court all day!

Judge says I’m already giving them the run around.
