Leaky roofs

Roof is falling apart and leaking when the house is 4 years old. Avoid like the plague.

We had a very bad experience we would…

We had a very bad experience we would like to share in case you are thinking of buying a property with Ashwood Homes. You will need to know that they are pressurising and ruthless. If you are a cash purchaser or a first time buyer with no property to sell, it might be ok but if there are any delays you are constantly under pressure when moving is already stressful..They try to get you to exchange very early and they are ready to pull the plug and repeatedly tell you so They are legally within their rights to do this and of course you sign your life away at the beginning. We had a chain of 2 under us and the bottom of the chain broke. We immediately got a new cash buyer who wanted to move fast but they completely cut contact, and would not speak to us, When we first rang them they told us they did not want to sell to us anymore, that we were bad buyers, they had others waiting, the phone call got cut off and then they delayed returning our emails until after they had resold the house for 10k more. Interesting they put the same standards pictures up in the internet not showing all the extras we had bought. We think that was deliberate. They said the increase in the house sale was not about the extras we had bought but due to property prices going up. We lost our money for the extras (half payment made). They would not return our money to us. I reported them to trading standards. Our solicitors tried to contact theirs but there was no response from them. We were literally frozen out. It was appalling practice. I don't think you can give no stars on here but if you could there would be no stars for this company. Fortunately we have found a lovely home and so have put this horrible experience behind us. Just beware!!

Thank you for your comments unfortunately we cannot publicly comment on legal matters but unfortunately after waiting many over 8 months for completion with the house built and standing for much of this. We were unable to wait any longer for the transaction to proceed. We are pleased to hear you have found a new home.

Started off all good

Started off all good , we bought many of the extras was offered the built in wardrobe and then that’s where the problem started we paid 800 pounds and asked it to be flush to the wall but was told oh no ,the line on the drawings meant it couldn’t be flush ,only to find out when being plastered we could have had it flush , the sales girl never mentioned this once that we could have had that after all ,the wardrobe looks stupid and now they want us pay another 700 to put there incompetence and lack of training from staff on what they offer to have it how we wanted and asked in the first place not impressed , and not impressed with ashwood homes never again such a shame

Avoid.

We moved into our property in 2018.
Where do I begin?
The longest battle of our lives to resolve the flooding outside our property due to the swales not working effectively to drain. Water would cover our front garden. It took a lengthy 2 years for anything to be done about it with constant calls to customer service who would tell you they would chase it and call you back - lies!
All 2 bathrooms and downstairs toilet were siliconed horrifically. My partner had to do it all again himself.
Carpets and laminate floor fitted poorly, once again my partner had to fit those.
The finish of the house was terrible.
They used a caravan equivalent induction hob which will not heat 4 pans.
We had issues with the water draining in the property and again they tried to tell us this was an external problem which we would need to sort. We got a plumber in who said it was the air flow valve which then their team came to change.
Very poor experience and we are now moving. Avoid.

Hmmm not the standard you would have…

Hmmm not the standard you would have expected from a new home ie the finish and rushed areas that were evident ie wet paint etc
I could say so much more and it would be truthful certainly but my moving in experience was ruined by the already mentioned points and the constant upheaval afterwards

Not acceptable!

Ashwood Homes told us 3 months ago our garden would be stone picked. Normally im not one to complain and i dont mind small stones but for my partners daughter find things like glass in there is not acceptable! (the piles of brick and slate are what me and my partner have had to do)
Workers may be careless but seriously put it in a bloody bin! A cracked window for 3 months and still no update, poor paintwork and rushed finishings!
Considering this was supposed to be our first new dream home together it has been a complete nightmare and the opposite of what they sold to us.
To add funnily enough now its almost impossible to get a response from someone regarding these issues!

Absolute shoddy work and wouldn’t recommend anyone to bother buying a home from them!

Flooring not fitted correctly

Flooring not fitted correctly, loose carpet, lino with tears in, overall bad job all round. On returning to rectify they did one job which is now worse and refusing to do the other which they promised they would on three occasions.

Bad workmanship, terrible customer service and overall shocking experience.

Stay away.
