RENTED A CAR THROUGH AUTO EUROPE AND WAS OVERCHARGED BY 1,106 EUR!

I rented a car through Auto Europe for 4 days and paid full rental price of 141 EUR at the booking time. I signed the agreement when I picked up the car at Budget rental agency at the airport of Toulouse - Blagnac, which mentioned no other fees except for 141 EUR that I had already paid. I returned the car as agreed – undamaged and with full tank. The car was inspected by a Budget representative and the contract was closed in my presence with no incident or discussion of additional fees due.

Two days AFTER the contract was closed I discovered I was charged an additional 1106,86 EUR by Avis (??) without my knowledge or authorization! In fact, I discovered the fees when looking through my bank statement.

I spent hours on the phone with Budget and contacted Auto Europe trying to determine where these charges came from. At first Budget assured me that the charges were a mistake and that I would get a refund by the end of the week. Later they referred me to Auto Europe Customer Service and closed my case with no resolution. They did, however, send me a copy of my supposed “agreement”, which appeared to have been modified and looked completely different from the one I had signed at pickup.

It’s now been over 2 weeks and at least 4 hours spent with Customer Service of Budget and Auto Europe. Neither of them has taken responsibility for the error or could explain where the charges came from. I still haven’t received a refund, nor a response from AutoEurope Customer Service! I am spending my vacation trying to figure out this outrageous mess!!!

Easy, simple, good

I had problems with my last booking through AUTO EUROPE. AUTO EUROPE did not create the problem!!. The telephone service of AUTO EUROPE was exellent and the lady at AUTO EUROPE rang me back twice and solved the problem in a perferct way!

The website booking interphase is intuitive and inline with todays standard. Looking forward to see they can also deliver and will followup on this.

I love Auto Europe - it gives you a good overview of all of your options.

Text doesn't match in two places.....so I cannot tell if the loss of car keys are covered or not. One place says they are covered if lost, but the tarifdetails say the opposite. Fix it please!

I rented a car to pick up at Faro airport. Unfortunately my flight was slightly delayed, causing me to arrive 10 minutes late to pick up the car.

Result: I did not get the car, and I did not get a refund because it is mentioned in their terms and conditions that no refunds are given if the customer is late. I paid for a whole week of a car rental which I didn't even see!

Atrocious, avoid at all costs. Here is the relevant part from the terms and conditions:

"No modifications can be made after pick-up time: no extensions of the rental duration, no refund of unused voucher days if car is picked up late or returned early."

I checked with the competing car rental companies Hertz, Avis and Sixt and all of them have a condition that a processing fee needs to be paid if a customer is late. This sounds reasonable. Having to pay the full amount and not getting the car is NOT reasonable!

The booking was easy and simple.
I found my choice and preference of car very fast.

My third time renting through autoeurope. Easy and secure way to rent a car for a good price. So far, no troubles but thankfully also didn't have any problems with the cars..

Auto Europe is consistently the best way to go when renting a car. Competitive prices and reliable service! Another plus point is that Auto Europe only charges a minimal fee (usually just a few Euros more) for comprehensive rates that include complete coverage and a refund for any deductible.

Rent at Casablanca Airport (CMN), Morocco via Global (Rabat via Meet & Greet Outside Central Exit)
Wrong Terminal Exit was stated on the booking page.
Had to call the agency to find the person waiting for me.
The employees were friendly and I had no problems. Car was fine (Dacia Logan, Diesel, Cruise control, Aux-In, USB).
Car was in good condition. All previous scratches were marked in the contract. Interior was a little worn but not relevant for the company.
Return was no problem at about 22h.
