For wealthy people happy to change things very well in advance.

I think this place is more for people with money who can dish out quite a bit on a lot of pre-emptive maintenance. Can't say I felt understood, listened to - when I said "do the essentials", "how urgent and important is this?"

Christmas offer attracted me to Auto Masters.
1) First the $ amount went up because my car was big.
2) Staff weren't really helpful when requested to use my oil and coolant.
3) There was a strong insisting and persuasion on doing a lot of work and bitter answer when I requested to just do the agreed service sounding like "well, okay I can skip this, if you want to risk your safety".

AUTOMASTERS GEEBUNG 2 DAYS MOTOR REPLACEMENT. INCREDIBLE THX LEE!

Needed a complete engine replacement. And when the Owner of the business at Auto Masters Geebung, personally gets you a replacement motor in two days, and he himself does the work to get the motor in, which was also 2 days. I don’t think I’ve ever had such awesome workmanship and service. IF YOU WANT A TRUSTED MECHANIC…. AUTOMASTERS GEEBUNG IS A MUST. Thanks Lee!

Rip off, Lies, Cheats, Scams

I tried to support a local business and got absolutely scammed.
I brought the car in for a regular service and brake pad change - the change warning having come on a day earlier for the front brakes only. The car had been driving absolutely fine and without issue. I was then told the brakes all need replacing, the suspension needs replacing, new tyres, a bunch of other trivial things and told it was going to be $4k. I asked if anything could be avoided or put off but was told it was all absolutely essential and so I trusted and gave the go ahead, not having seen any break down of each charge or having an opportunity to get other quotes. After the work was done and reviewing the invoice I found only a small amount of work done and at extremely higher than competitor prices (double to triple). I then brought it into another mechanic to look at the suspension that was apparently in dire need of replacement (that appeared covered in the verbal quote from automasters) and had been recommended to bring it back asap or risk thousands more in costs , Tyrepower suspensions Morley did a thorough check and told me there were no issues, and how angry it makes them that places like this frequently do these scams. After comparing 11 quotes from competitors on the specific item of rear rotors and pads that were charged at $1500, rather than the other quotes ranging from $600-800 total, I was told premium/ high performance products were used and that all 11 quotes were inaccurate because they had not viewed the vehicle. Very strange as I had raised concern at the price and was given no alternative options. After contacting automasters and being assured that the higher than usual prices were all due to premium high performance products being used, I was offered my next service complimentary which I had to decline because I could not possibly trust this company again.
After speaking with the Ops manager whom again assured me that the price discrepancy was due to high performance brakes being used, I decided to check what had actually been put on the car. I found cheap Bosch rotors retailing at $126 per set and under were used, but charged at $1500 for rear and $900 for front. The brake pads used retail at $26.
My initial concerns have been increased significantly as on top of the deceitful and misleading conduct by Automasters, I now need to spend further money with a reputable mechanic to have these cheap products replaced.
This business undoubtedly and unapologetically ripped me off by thousands. I’m now forced to lodge a case with consumer protection WA as well as the ACCC and waste a lot of time doing so. An expensive and horrible lesson in trusting the wrong place. I only hope my experience can help others avoid this stressful situation.

Massive ripoff at Automasters

An engine malfunction light came on so I took the car to Automasters in Belmont. The quote included unnecessary work but the main items were $950 for the ignition coils and $330 for the spark plugs for a Yaris 2006 car. I looked around and found the proper ignition coils for $220 and the plugs for $24 at Veale's. The person who did the job took 35 minutes to complete it and didn't bother charging for the time. That quote was unjustifiable and I wonder how many others have been ripped off by this predatory behaviour

Let the Buyer Beware - You are not in control.

Let the Buyer Beware: My Experience with Auto Masters

Choosing Auto Masters is starting to feel a lot like taking a gamble at the casino—too many unknowns, and too much at stake. I usually avoid posting reviews, especially ones that sound like they're from disgruntled customers with a chip on their shoulder. But here I am adding to the growing list of people who feel their experience needs to be shared.

I took my work van in for a routine oil and filter change on a Saturday morning—nothing major, just standard servicing. I picked it up just before closing at noon and drove off to attend to a client in Perth’s CBD. Unknown to me, the van had been leaking oil from the newly installed oil filter for nearly 30 kilometres - only to realize when I arrived at my client’s site and saw the van continuing to leak oil all over their pristine paved sidewalk.

That’s when the real frustration began.

Auto Masters closes completely over the weekend—no emergency help desk, no technical support, no guidance. In 2025, I find it baffling that a business of this size and scope still doesn’t offer any form of after-hours assistance. All you get is a third-party service that answers calls, takes messages, and assures you someone will get back to you—eventually.

Left with no support and unable to leave the van leaking oil in the CBD until Monday, I had to act. I contacted RAC, but since I wasn’t a member, I had to pay $355 upfront for a membership and for the technician to be dispatched before a tow truck could even be arranged. I chose this as the most affordable option at the time. Meanwhile, my own 24/7 service business was at a standstill for three full days until the van was repaired and back on the road.

I called Auto Masters’ Head Office at 9 a.m. Monday and eventually received a return call around 2 p.m. from the Operations Manager. The call, from his mobile phone with poor reception, was less than helpful. I was given the usual runaround and told they “could have arranged a tow”—but only if I’d left my van leaking oil at the high-end client’s premises all weekend.

To make matters worse, the Operations Manager began debating the reimbursement for the tow costs, suggesting I should not be reimbursed for the road side assistance fee. Should I have booked a standard tow truck for $700 instead—implying that I might have had a better chance of being reimbursed. Seriously?

Having worked in this industry for over 30 years, I understand the importance of honesty, accountability, and doing the right thing when you're at fault. I’ve always believed in making smart decisions that reduce pain and inconvenience for my clients. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that level of professionalism or maturity from Auto Masters' Head Office.

As of now, I’m still waiting to see if my client will pass on the $1,000 invoice for cleaning up the oil spill. And I have little hope of being fully reimbursed for the unexpected costs I incurred, simply because I made the poor choice of servicing my van on a Saturday and driving away.

Lesson learned: Auto Masters sets the rules—and you're on your own if anything goes wrong.

Beware of Auto Masters Thuringowa & the…

Beware of Auto Masters Thuringowa & the VIP Club

I recently took my vehicle to Auto Masters Thuringowa for a routine logbook service and brake repairs, but what followed has been incredibly frustrating.

🔹 Immediate Post-Service Issues: My car was running perfectly before the service. The moment I drove home, I noticed acceleration issues. When I restarted the car the next time I used it, both the engine warning light (O2 sensor) and ABS light (steering angle sensor) came on—two unrelated sensor failures at the exact same time!

🔹 Auto Masters' Response: Despite the clear timing, they denied any responsibility, claiming these failures were just an unfortunate coincidence. Their so-called "compromise"—waiving labour costs—was misleading, as I had already paid for their VIP Club, which includes free labour anyway! In other words, they were offering me nothing beyond what I had already paid for.

🔹 VIP Club Disappointment: I joined the Auto Masters VIP Club, expecting to save money on maintenance, but in reality, I ended up paying more while still facing issues. If you’re considering this membership, think twice—its benefits disappear when you actually need them.

🔹 Lack of Trust in Their Repairs: Even with "free" labour, I do not want Auto Masters to repair my vehicle anymore. After experiencing two unexplained failures immediately after their service, I have no confidence that something else won’t 'coincidentally' go wrong next.

⚠️ If you take your car here, be cautious. If anything goes wrong after their service, expect to be blamed for "coincidental" failures.

Honest, prompt and economical mechanical workshop

I have been dealing with AutoMasters at Geebung Brisbane Qld Australia for approx 3 years. Over this time for to their excellent work and service my son, wife, daughter & niece all get their cars repaired or services done there. Leigh and the team are absolutely fantastic always happy to help and go out of their way to do so. They now I use my vehicle for work so always have it ready for pick up promptly. What I like most of all about this business is that they are extremely honest and value for money I have found none better. To put a little perspective on this I am having my car serviced every 3-4 months as I run up around 15,000 klms over that period of time. A great business so if you are looking for a trustworthy and skilled workshop to look after your vehicle in this area call them.

Problem not resolved

I took my car there (auto masters subiaco) for oil change and routine inspection. I also wanted them to fix my drive belt from making a screeching noise and explicitly mentioned to them about it. When I went there to collect my car, I asked them if that was fixed to which they said it was done. I believed them and drove away but guess what, I think they didn’t even try fixing it! Few blocks away and the problem started again. Wouldn’t trust em again with their service.

If I could give negative stars

If I could give negative stars, I would.

I’ve been servicing my car with Auto Masters Mirrabooka for the past two years, trusting them with its care. However, two months ago, I started hearing an unusual noise coming from the engine and took it to them for inspection. To my shock, they told me I might need a new engine and gave me a quote for $12,000!

Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion. I visited two other workshops on the same day, and both confirmed that the issue was due to low-quality engine oil. A simple oil flush was all that was needed to fix the problem.

It’s clear to me now that Auto Masters Mirrabooka either lacks expertise or deliberately misleads customers. This experience was nothing short of deceptive and predatory.

Please, stay away from this place. Find an honest workshop that won’t try to rip you off!

AVOID AUTOMASTERS PENZANCE AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AUTOMASTERS PENZANCE AT ALL COSTS. This garage is ripping people off and RAC ARE deliberately taking cars there despite it not being closest approved garage, and approving it despite the errors they're making and the complaints and bad review.

This garage charged us just under a thousand pounds for another clutch and master cylinder despite us having had it done by a reputable local garage before we went on holiday saying it was 'contaminated'. We had parts looked at when got home and they've said 'they're fine, just seals had popped and needed bleeding so you've been ripped off'. Also they had it over a week and left it with damaged steering and tracking out and 2 loose engine mount bolts, claiming it was our fault for rushing them to get it done when mum had an accident and needed to go home 2 days early. Hi-Q couldn't carry out tracking sufficiently because of damage and it was them that noticed the engine mount bolts undone. Their courtesy car, despite them being told there was 2 disabled persons, was a 2 door death trap with disconnected abs brakes and a boot that could only be opened if hubby climbed over back seats, very narrow boot hubby struggled to fit mums scooter in pieces, and I suffered discomfort having to climb in and out rear seat with spinal issues and part amputated foot. We did say we was struggling but they said that was only car available.

We have complained to garage and they acknowledged complaint but didn't respond, and RAC said we should think ourself lucky we even got a courtesy car as they're not obliged to, even though we pay for this on our breakdown and insurance, defending their garage and the damage they caused and the costings.

Absolutely disgusted with the way we've been treated and advise all persons steer well clear.

***WARNING***

***WARNING***
I have never left a bad review anywhere in my life... you can check.

I took my car here for a major service, explained couldn't afford to waste any money at the present and to only service the essentials, we were told about $2500 worth of repairs, which we agreed to pay and did, I got my car back and it was blowing excessive amounts of smoke out the back and wouldn't stop.

I called RAC and had it towed there, they said and I have it written down on documentation it doesn't even look like they changed the oil or oil filters, and or potentially they put the wrong oil in my car? In which long story short my car now needs a new motor and I've been quoted $15,800.

DO NOT take your car here, they offer people discounts for FAKE google reviews.

Auto Masters Hilton absolutely DID NOT damage Mr Gaikwad’s car. Unfortunately, a dust cover was left off after an aircon service. The State Operations Manager of Auto Masters SA met with Mr Gaikwad, apologised and wanted to put the cover on for him. Mr Gaikwad refused the offer, which still stands if Mr Gaikwad wishes, but his behaviour will need to be more controlled and rational.
