I went to auto masters ripped me off

I went to auto masters back in February and I am not happy , the worst experience and I will never deal with them again , they did stuff that did not to be done instead of what needed to be done , the timing belt needed to be replaced same with the water bottle which the knew it had to be replaced and charged me 2800 and on top of that the timing belt went , I took it somewhere else to be replaced , they tried to do the same stunt to my work colleague , I told her to get a 2nd opinion and half the stuff they told her needed done didn’t need doing , I am going to take this further I’ve spoken to my lawyer because what they did was wrong , my advice to anyone is get a 2nd opinion because I’ll guarantee you will save a lot of money by doing so , I’m also reporting auto masters to fair trading they need to be investigated.

Brakes and Wipers

Auto Masters recently replaced my rear and front brakes and windscreen wipers. I am totally appreciative
of their friendly service and the great job they did on my vehicle. The Whitfords team were also very friendly, and the cost was most reasonable for the work that was done. Charles Back, Hillarys.

Got my car towed to Mirrabooka Auto…

Got my car towed to Mirrabooka Auto Masters just for a quote on a gearbox for Cx-7 Mazda 2010 with low kilometres , was given one quote of $4,000 for a gearbox on Tuesday then was told that there was a valve inside the transmission rattling which was the actual valve inside because it wouldn't go into reverse. Then the receptionist called the next day on a Wednesday with another quote of $6,000 which then the receptionist again didn't have a clue what was really going on again then I received another call Friday telling me that it would cost me $7,500 to fix in total .
So I then decided to get my car towed from there because even though . Afterall that I was charged for diagnosistics $395 which is total rip off still didn't get a full report on the main issue just a receipt of the amount to pay $395 . Seems very overpaid for just getting a diagnosis of the real cause where I could of gone elsewhere and only costs me $50- $150 to get a diagnosis. Never using Auto Masters ever prefer go elsewhere Sad tho we are in tough times I know there was other options for payment but ridiculous and now I'm financially broke due to the whole crap I went through that whole week of being told one thing to the next .

I needed my aircon fixed

I needed my aircon fixed.
Got a phone call during the morning. "Need a new compressor. 1800 bucks. " I decided to cancel and do without air conditioning this summer. Got the impression he was shocked and very annoyed that I cancelled. He said nothing much I came to pick up my car. Decidedly grumpy tone. No customer service. Charged me 100 bucks for diagnosis. I understand the 100 dollar charge but I could do without the grumpy attitude. Won't be returning in a hurry to this mob. Was I such a nuisance to them?

Auto Masters implies Master of the…

Auto Masters implies Master of the field. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
The Store at Reynella SA does not know customer service and I bet the staff there don’t know how to spell it. Often I have booked my cars in for repair then sat in the store across the road waiting for it to be fixed. I have seen it put back out the front waiting for collection with in half hour of dropping it off ( nothing had been done to it )
Today I dropped my car off there only because no one else could fit me in my car has been sitting where I dropped it off for 2 1/2 hours in touched. I’m self employed and have informed them I need the car for work. I also asked them to keep me updated on progress. ( looks like I’m down a days work because of these tools )

Great Service

I dropped off my Ssangyong to Automasters Canning Vale for a major service. They were kind and completed my service bringing up some issues with my car which I got fixed through them. Out of all the mechanics I have been to this place has to be my favourite. They are going to be my main mechanics from now on.

Incompetence or fraudulent business practice

I went to Automasters Willetton to get an opinion on a noisy air conditioner. The workshop manager had a look and concluded that it most likely was a faulty conditioner pulley bearing since the noise would persist regardless whether the AC compressor was running or not. I dropped the car off for repair and received a phone call shortly after confirming their initial assessment that the AC pulley was found to be the cause and the replacement would cost $280. I gave the go-ahead. An hour later I received another call telling me that after all it was not the pulley but an internal bearing and the whole compressor would need to be replaced at a cost of $1,700. I decided then to wait with the repair and was charged $88 for the diagnostic work. I then removed the AC pulley myself to find the bearing faulty. I had the bearing replaced by an AC mechanic ($100 part and fitting) and after refitting, the noise was gone and the AC worked as it should. Had I followed the recommendation of Automasters I would have been out of pocket by $1,700. I conclude that either their mechanic was incompetent or the business practice of Automasters dishonest. I felt I should be refunded the cost for the (wrong and misleading) assessment and pleaded my case to the branch manager, who, after consultation with the business owner, declined. I have learned: Do not trust Automasters, always get a second opinion and follow your gut feeling.

AutoMasters Rockingham

AutoMasters Rockingham

Even 1/2 star is being too generous to be honest.

Spent over $800 here to find out the cause of why our check engine light had come and get all that was recommended by them, fixed to clear it.

*They guaranteed us these parts being replaced were going to fix the issue of our car before we went because as I said to them, $800 is a lot of money for us*

Once the work was done, the report was vague noting a lot of possible faulty parts that COULD be the issue. But being the 'AutoMasters' they claim to be, surely they can figure it out then we wouldn't have been charged skyhigh prices for things that aren't necessary.

A week after using AutoMasters, we find the check engine light is back. We take it back to get it checked again due to the 6 month warranty period promised on work done by them, but no surprises, more money needed for another 'fix'

Seriously, please reconsider spending your hard earned money on people who know what they're doing!!!

$800 out of pocket and still a car that's not been fixed. Thanks for nothing, AutoMasters.

Overpriced and not doing as requested

I went to automasters because I had a discount voucher from them.
Requested a 100k service for a Mitsubishi lancer se(which is NOT a major service) according to the book and a timing belt checkup. I ended having to pay over $1000 (that is with a major discount) for a Major service and timing belt. One of their excuses was that their software only allows them to pick a timing belt with a major service. My other car is a 4x4 and a major service costs less then $400. I lost the use of my car for a couple of days because I did not want to pay such an insane sum and main office was not available over the weekend. Fair to say they won't be seeing me there again.
