We past over the pain of not riding a 500 in Italy
We have been upgraded from the 500 (not available) to a Ford Puma mild hybrid manual. More confortable, more spacious, more difficult to park, but I do not have an issue with that. The car only had 23000 km onboard, I added almost another 1000.
Consumption was very reasonable at just over 5 litres per 100 km. It came spotless clean, in very good condition, I gave it back a little dusty. Overall a very good experience.

Worst company I have every worked with
Worst company I have every worked with. They violated their terms, charged me the full amount, I disputed with my credit company, Autovia accepted the dispute (essentially admitting wrong doing) and now is pursuing legal action. They are the most unprofessional company, harass their customers even though they are in the wrong, and even their on site staff was rude and unprofessional. Would give a -100 review if possible. Do not book with them, unless you are willing to go through months of disputes over their unclear rules and expectations.

Fair, professional and fast
Once the scanner for the driving licence worked, everything worked fine, fast and smooth. The car had already a check mentioning existing scratches and the person in charge checked together with me again, resulting in adding some points. The car was in good condition, very clean, functioning well. When i brought it back, check was professional and quick. A final signature, and it was done. An email arrived a few minutes later and the deposit on my credit card was deleted (money was freed for me again).

The rental process was quick and easy, we even got a better car at no extra charge. You should read the terms and conditions carefully beforehand to be prepared when you arrive at the counter. Returning the car was quick and efficient, only the drop-off location was hard to find as it wasn't signposted

Again FRAUDSTERS!
I gave Autovia a second chance because of the competitive price of their rental through a broker company. But when I arrived to collect the vehicle at their Bari desk, the staff refused outright to rent me the vehicle offering no explanation and of course no refund.
They just sent me off to the broker and told me if I want I speak to the broker.
I had no choice but to go to SIXT who gave me an impeccable service at Bari Airport.
Careful from Autovia and their customer care.
Unfortunately I was sorely bitten twice.

Fraudulently charge
I was charged almost €30 for returning the car “without refueling,” which is simply not true. The car was filled up to the maximum just 3 km before Bari. However, the FACT indicator constantly showed 7–8 bars. Even though I drove only 15 km to Bari city center and then left the car parked for four days at the hotel (because we were using another vehicle), I returned it to the airport with the same fuel level.
It is evident that the company is either attempting to fraudulently charge customers or systematically adds unjustified fees — which seems likely, considering the very low rating in customer reviews. Despite sending all necessary documents and the fuel receipt, the company has not replied to my emails and has not refunded my money.
I have initiated a chargeback procedure with my bank, and I strongly recommend others to do the same to stop this kind of theft and fraudulent behavior from the company. I will never rent from them again, even though I do so quite frequently.

I would rate 0 if I can. This rent a car company is a scam, well calculated scam. They charged me 270 euros more because I had a debit car and not a credit card. Also they didnt accept the full coverage I had via Ryanair becuase it is not valid in local area in Italy, but they tell you that when you arrive to pick up your car of course. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

We would like to clarify that using a nominative credit card is a mandatory requirement for the rental guarantee: each rental company, within legal obligations, may define which payment instruments are acceptable, and debit cards cannot technically be used for pre-authorization purposes.
We understand that this may be unexpected or cause inconvenience, especially if the information was not clearly perceived during the booking process.
Regarding the full coverage purchased through third parties, such as Ryanair, please note that it is not “locally rejected”: it simply cannot replace the deposit or serve as direct protection on the rental contract, as those policies work externally via reimbursement and cannot be applied operationally at the counter.
We are nevertheless very sorry if the explanation provided at the desk was not sufficiently clear or if you felt the process was not transparent. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve communication and customer support.
