Terrible experience
Terrible experience. The staff were extremely rude and made me feel completely taken advantage of. I was forced to pay for additional insurance despite already having coverage through Booking.com, with contradictory explanations regarding my debit card and the security deposit.
Very misleading and dishonest experience. I strongly advise against renting from this company.

we are sorry about your experience and the way you say you were treated. We understand your disappointment, but we cannot accept Autovia being described as dishonest.
Coverage purchased through Booking.com is separate from the rental agreement and does not change the security deposit requirements. As stated in the booking conditions, a physical credit card in the customer’s name is normally required as a guarantee; a debit card is not suitable.
The full coverage offered at the desk is an optional solution that may allow the rental to proceed without the required credit card by removing the excess. We are sorry if this option was not explained clearly and politely.

Booked a car through discovery cars for our time in Puglia, Italy. They work with autovia who were brilliant. Greta communication leading up to collection, fast check in when we arrived and quality car. No issues with the car (challenges like dents or wheels etc). They gave us a perfect car, no issues and was checked quickly when we dropped it off and confirmed all Ok. Email confirming it within minutes. Super service and definitely recommend this company. Thank you for making our time in Italy superb.

I have never dealt with such a poor car…
I have never dealt with such a poor car rental company before. We rented a car, and upon return, they blamed us for damages we did not cause and created a report without our consent.
Afterwards, I received an invoice for the damage, and a month later, the same amount was charged twice on my credit card.
They do not respond to my inquiries, ignore my complaints, and do not take my claims seriously. This is simply unacceptable.

we are sorry for what happened. Any damage charge must be supported by the relevant documentation and can be disputed by the customer. A duplicate charge, however, requires an immediate review.
Please send a further follow-up to customercare@autovia.it, including your booking number and a copy of your card statement showing both transactions. This will allow the team to check both the damage case and the amount charged twice.
We also apologise for the lack of response to your previous messages.

Annoyed is not strong enough
Annoyed is not strong enough, car returned absolutely nothing wrong with it, vegetation at the side of the road not my problem that's up to you to sort the roads even better the man inspecting the car had to move the sticker 4 times 420 euro to fix when a poliah would clear it, get a grip you know the roads in brindisi are not designed for big cars so why give them. Once took a car back to Naples and even he said Brindisi no good for rentals so why do it? Absolutely no need, you need people to give good reviews not bad, sort yourselves out. I want to take this further send me details to make a formal complaint

They cancelled my booking!
They cancelled my booking because I was 4 hours late (flight delay). I only received a partial refund from booking.com
Luckily there was a friendly and helpful agent at a different car hire company nearby. AVOID Ecovia and Autovia!!!

Please note, however, that according to our rental terms, bookings are guaranteed for up to two hours after the scheduled pick-up time. After that period — and if no prior communication of the delay is received — the reservation automatically expires and the vehicle may be reassigned to ensure availability for other arriving customers.
For reservations made through intermediaries such as Booking.com, any refund or pricing adjustment is managed directly by the booking platform.

Best rental experience I had
Everything went smoothly. I received a very nice car even better than the one I expected (only problem: it wasn't fuel saving). The staff is courteous and helpful. The deposit is extremely reasonable. The return of the car went very well and fast.

On arrival at Brindisi aiport I picked up a Opel Corsa which was an older model and the clutch was a concern. I returned this to the company and was provided with a Seat which also was not acceptable. The final car provided was a new Kia which was excellent. The staff helped me sort the issue and I was satisfied with the last car provided.

Very good experience! Very professional
The car was good, the time to receive it under 10 min and the staff very friendly.
Very professional. There was no pushing in selling an extra insurance on top of the one I already booked. One friendly offer and my “no thank you” was accepted immediately. I really appreciated that. I will for sure rent with Autovia again.
Only one recommendation… I would make sure that floor mats are placed in each car, since it makes it lot easier to keep the sand out and the car clean. My car didn’t have any.
