Car hire with Avis and Martin at City of Derry AIrport is excellent :)

Very efficient and friendly service, starting with the easy way to book on-line, with clear instructions and no hidden fees. The paperwork was all done quickly. The people on the desk made it an enjoyable experience, with a friendly smile and a great sense of humour.

The car was parked at the airport car park, just a short walk away which meant we were on our way very quickly. I much prefer this to the alternative; waiting for a mini-bus to travel to an offsite car park a few miles away. Will definitely be back.

Very professional team. Customer care were engaging, fun and ensured optimal quality of car through Avis Preferred programme. The process was efficient and informative. The designated car was brand new of high quality. Great service by Avis Ireland.

I was given a relatively new car. It was easy to drive and was economical on fuel. It had enough ‘oomph!” when it was needed.
The car was faultless.
What more do you want from a hire car?
I had my own hire car insurance - so saved some money on the rental.

Car was grubby inside with sweets found on the floor.
The cars are blocked in so you have to wait for others to collect before you can go.
The main issue - you have to pay €25 a day insurance if you don’t have a credit card, and if you do have a credit card you have to put the €2,000 excess on it. This is not made clear at the time of booking. The only time this is mentioned is on one of the 53 pages of terms and conditions. This really should be made more clear. I contacted customer care who weren’t helpful.

Hire here if you are happy to spend 2 hours in the freezing cold on the side of a motorway in the middle of the night nearly getting hit by lorrys because Avis/budget don’t bother to check whether the tyres on the car they hire out to you are road legal. We only drove one hour in these tyres. For the avoidance of doubt. We complained to corporate and the only compensation they provided was the price of the tyre we had to pay for. Does this look reasonable condition of a tyre after one hours use?

Easy pick up and drop off arrangements at Dublin Airport. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable and clean car. And, most importantly, reasonable rates of hire. All in all, great service and experience.

I picked a car up from derry airport and the whole experience was superb. I dont ususally hire cars as i have had a bad experience but the guy on the desk was excellent. He walked me roumd the car and identified to me all previous damage. He couldnt do enough to help.

Katie was exceptional went above to sort out hire out .
Avis is no more expensive than other companies.

All went well, except 1) a minor problem of having to stop by an AVIS rental elsewhere en route to get the remote key-less entry device battery changed… and then smooth ride wherever we went; and, then 2) trying to find a petrol refueling station just prior to returning the vehicle with a full tank, which required for me to drive back all the way to where we picked up the car at the Dublin airport, only to find a very busy solitary Circle K, with long lines, and THEN back again to where vehicles are returned! Otherwise, a wonderful experience.

Now used a few times from City of Derry airport. Great cars, service & team support. 100% recommend.

The Avis team in Dublin is an awesome group of people! They are very friendly at the rental desk all the way to the return area. The shuttle driver is very friendly and knowledgeable.

I always use Avis at Dublin airport for my business trips and the staff at the desk are friendly efficient and the pick up is always quick and easy. The cars are always easy to access and usually well prepared. The service is good and I am very happy to only use Avis for my rental cars we're ever i go.

No nonsense, clean car in good condition

Beware anyone hiring a car in Belfast as this branch has declared itself not in the UK but Ireland and therefore renters will be required to pay by credit card or face an extortionate £45 per day insurance excess up sell at the desk. Belfast is in the UK when I last checked and the Avis UK website tells renters a debit card is a valid form of payment. Nothing will prepare you for the RIP OFF UPSELL of an insuarance excess at the desk if you do not have a credit card. I do not have or desire a credit card or debt and for this AVIS wanted to add £350 excess insurance to a six day hire which I refused to pay and cancelled my booking.

I wouldn't even give this company 1 star , I was lied to on taking the car , and lied to on dropping it off, they hold your money bk and was lied to about that on pick up, it's a disgrace why they can take your money in a second bur have to wait for your money bk, so not bk through this company
