Mansfield branch

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. AVOID!!!!!
Currently with baistow eve. And This has been the biggest mistake I could of done when renting. It has been the worst estate agent I've dealt with.
Started with first property, no repairs completed with a baby in the house. Faulty boiler, leaks from the bathroom and no bathroom door! When leaving the property, Lucy asked me to leave within 24hrs telling me landlord had let me go. When i spoke to the landlord she was not aware of any of this. When getting my report back from deposit team, Charlotte admitted to rushing it. And not actually looking at the previous inventory attempting to charge me for items which were in the property before I arrived. I had to call the landlord, due to Charlotte not making contact with the landlord to get this sorted.
Lucy and meeshia agreed I would have a refund for having to leave the property within 24hrs, it took over a 6weeks to have this sorted with constant calls and email asking why the payment has not been done and was only sorted by myself having to call the landlord as meeshia did not do this. The landlord was not aware of any amount as meeshia was telling my self one story and the landlord another. I gave my bank details over the phone, which somehow had gone missing by meeshia. Who told me she had no clue what happened, I once again gave my bank details for refund and the money was sent to a different account and not the account I gave.
When signing for the new contract for my new property Jacob told myself, partner and father in law that the rubbish outside my property would be removed. 2 months down the line I am still fighting to get this rubbish removed. The new property had cupboards full of black mould risking my baby and myself health, it was only sorted when telling baistow eve if not sorted I would contact the council and trading standards. My number was passed on by scarlett to my current landlord without my permission.
With putting 1 star due to the terrible service I have received from baistow eve, rather then having an email from Meeisha asking how any improvements could be done, she emailed me saying she always does things quickly as she can, so does not understand the 1 star. But every situation I have dealt with the mansfield branch, I've had to call the landlords myself due to the team not doing their jobs.

Fighting to get a deposit back..

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Bairstow Eves Chafford Hundred, especially with Heather Wood. For over a month and a half, I have been trying to get my deposit back without any success. Heather Wood has been particularly ignorant and unresponsive, and the agency as a whole has not been communicating or responding to my emails. I have had to constantly chase them for updates.
Their lack of professionalism and disregard for their clients is unacceptable. I had no choice but to raise a dispute via the My Deposits scheme to try and retrieve my money. This whole experience has been incredibly stressful and frustrating.
I would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and responsive service. Their poor communication and failure to return my deposit in a timely manner have caused significant financial strain.

Wish I used an alternative agent.

Most expensive agent we had come to assess our property. Did the bare minimum at every step of the way and were not helpful in any way imaginable. Did not want to get involved in anything and we were left to do our own sales & purchase progression while paying a hefty premium for the privilege.

My advice would be to avoid Bairstow Eves and use a cheaper agent, while you'll still have to do a lot of the legwork yourself, you'll save yourself thousands of pounds.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would! They kept holding deposit unlawfully and without respecting the pre agreement signed by both parties, rude behaviours shouting on the phone and claiming to be the best! Avoid if you can rent somewhere else!

Absolute worst estate agents

Absolute worst estate agents! Took our 6 months rent upfront told us we could move into the property only to be told 5 hours after we were due to get the keys that we weren’t allowed to have the property after all! We had paid for removals and were literally sitting outside the house only to be mucked about for the entire day. Very disappointing and if we could give them zero stars we would!

Worst estate agent in London

Would avoid them like a plague. Withheld deposit unlawfully, failing to meet all legislative expectations on returning funds in an appropriate manner. Poor communicators on the whole, but even worse over the phone if you are able to get hold of them. They utilise the art of deception and deceit in check out reports, selective emails chains and delay tactics. Avoid at all costs!

Very helpful throughout, whilst going through a stressful time. Sometimes it was difficult getting hold of someone, but that said I’ve had a successful outcome.

Worst people I have ever encountered.

Absolutely the worst, most unprofessional people i have ever had the displeasure of working with.
I am a FTB and was trying to purchase a house through Bairstoweves Tamworth. After putting in my offer, I received a phone call the next day to be told to 'get some prosecco!' because my offer had been accepted.
I later emailed the estate agent to let her know my broker details and asked for the memorandum of sale, to which I had the manager call me up to say that the vendor had only accepted my offer if I were to go with Bairstoweves in-house mortgage broker. I am aware that I do not legally have to use their broker and stood my ground because they wanted to charge me nearly £700 to use theirs!! I also stated that I had not offered under that basis and was confused as to why that had been put across to the seller in the first place. The agent called me again telling me they had another "higher" offer who was going in for a meeting with their in-house broker that evening and she would call me the next morning to let me know what happens.
She did not call me so I emailed again and asked for confirmation that my offer is still accepted. No response at all. I called up to be told by a different agent that my offer had "never been accepted in the first place" and he basically tried to gaslight me into thinking that I was making it up and my offer was only ever received and not accepted. I am so so angry that they have wasted my time, gaslighting me and trying to force me to use their in house broker. There was even a sold sign in front of the house!! So someone is telling huge lies and it's been nothing but stressful- all because they wanted their commission on the broker. Stay away from these unprofessional immoral people at all costs.

One of worst letting agent

One of worst letting agent , they don’t have any ethics, they just need money 💰, worst customer service, we got a flat for rent in worst condition, they gave without cleaning, used toilet didn’t even flush , really shame on them, when we gave a complaint they didn’t even apologise, and flat is also worst condition, it needs to refurbish but gave for rent. Full of oily kitchen, got shocked after seeing bathroom. Owner will not pick calls, this letting agent will not take responsibility, but they signed on behalf of owner on the agreement. But surely I will not leave them, I’ll post in every forums.

Advertised flat for sale with a alloted…

Advertised flat for sale with a alloted parking space, then to be told I could only park my car in a very small space tight up against a wall, the space was smaller than my car, I don’t have a big car. I made it quite clear to Bairstow Eves that I only considered the flat as it had parking, not alloted small smart car only parking! The lies continued with this firm and they just repeat themselves like parrots. It has cost me 2.5k in fees and I have to pull out so a chain of 4 people before me are also going to be effected, I was literally at contract stage, the stress is unbearable that I and others are now going to suffer. I do NOT recommend this company, their tactic is also to say to the seller while you are there, oh don’t forget you have a viewing later and 2 further ones booked in! This is pressure selling and more than likely lies.
The management guy that runs the upkeep of the building told me that if I couldn’t park there that I should have my licence taken away, change your car to a smart car! His rudeness continued until I was left in tears, the agent just stood by and did nothing!
Avoid this company, they talk the talk but never follow through.

Awful company would never recommend

Awful company would never recommend.

First of all lied and told us was no chain with our sale but then after we accept offer Emma put this information at a bottom of an email instead of making it clear to us that it was a chain.

The gentleman going round to do visits was taking his girlfriend with him who did not work for the company. I was told by Stephen who owns the Clifton branch that this happened multiple times at other properties aswell because he was scared of the area. I wasn’t actually told this until I went into branch questioning what had been happening at the property as some appointments were also skipped by Bairstow!

When I handed the keys over for exchange they lost the keys.

Honestly has been an extremely stressful situation and experience with Bairstow Eves Clifton branch. I would never recommend or use them again.

I don’t just make reviews unless I have…

I don’t just make reviews unless I have to. But a family member has their house for sale with B&E. and quite frankly from what I keep hearing it’s not a very good service at all. I also did my own way of contacting as a perspective buyer. 5 times I made contact with the local branch and not once have made contact over the property I was enquiring about. It also concerns me that there is no main number to call them apart from the local branches which if they are not providing a good service it will be there word against yours over any complaints to head office. So they have eliminated anyway of taking an issue higher than the branch. Which you need to ask do you want sell or buy a house from this organisation ?
Also my family member had their house reduced without any written confirmation of them taking this action. So it would appear they can do pretty much what they like in terms of when it suits them rather than what suits there customers.

No care

They don’t care about the state of the properties they rent out . They just want to get paid , keep the owner of the house happy . No rights for tenants , even if you have 6 kids they will serve you a section 21 after living in rubbish conditions and asking for it to be sorted . Minus 5 stars

Excellent!

I needed to contact the Billericay office for some help & found Jess D (Lettings Negotiator) to be an absolute star! She was calm, polite, pleasant, helpful, speedy & supportive. She actioned what she said she would and has a fabulous "can-do" attitude. I can't thank her or praise her enough! It's rare to find such, but very welcoming!
