Lots of poor reviews here…My experience was great!

Lots of poor reviews here, but my experience has been excellent. It regards my credit card.
False transaction appeared, I got in touch online with someone called Ethan, my card was cancelled, a new one to be issued.
Here’s where I was stunned but in a good way.
I got in touch on the 30/12 my new card arrived on 31/12 from Perth and I live on the East Coast. Amazing Service!
So why only give 4 stars? A week later I got a questionnaire asking me why I had cancelled my credit card and why I was no longer a Bankwest customer.
I still am just got a credit card with a new number🤣🤣

I'm a new customer and cannot access…

I'm a new customer and cannot access the mobile app without a Customer service person to reset the account. So even tho all prompts say they have 24/7 messaging services, this is only if you have App access.
So it's been 3 days now of trying to get this access. What are my options?
NONE!!

Possibly the worst bank in the country

Online only - lost access to our Personal Account number and had changed phones. Tried to fix online via my husbands account and was told can only be fixed by calling a call centre. After 1hour and 3 mins on hold my call was answered but the operator hung up. Been on hold again now for one hour plus. Does not give an option for a call back service. This is possobly the worst bank in the country. Treat customers poorly, offer no service, cannot make an appointment to see someone unless you want one of the high priced home loans. Bank less is right becuae the options are so limited - Bank Worst!

They do not answer the phone

They do not answer the phone, I just waited for over an hour before giving up. No advice as to wait time. No number in queue. No ability to turn off annoying music and annoying ad on repeat every minute. No branch you can visit, so you have to call for matters they won’t let you address via the app. Unbelievably poor customer service

Bankwest has over $250000 of my money…

Bankwest has over $250000 of my money and I can't get it back. I was on hold for over an hour, transferred between departments and hung up on and transferred between departments who then did not pick up the phone in a timely manner.

It's a disgrace that a billion dollar bank does not have adequate service levels. I need my money and I can't access it.

I see others are having similar issues. I've put in an AFCA complaint. Avoid yourself the pain and avoid BankWest.

Online access blocked

App and online banking are now blocked until I consent to Bankwest reviewing other apps on my android device. An absolute disgrace and will be changing banks next week.

Zero stars for Bank west

Zero stars for Bank west, Waited for 93 minutes on hold to call them as instructed by mail as I wanted to change my linked account. (then gave up as they probably wanted me to) I filled out their online form and signed it. Two weeks later I get a letter to call them to answer "some further questions".

WTF this is my money sitting in their low interest account as I have to send it there from Hero account before sending to linked account BUT linked NAB account has been closed so I wanted to link my new Bendigo Bank account

No human to answer the phone after almost 2 hours waitng

I have been waiting on the phone for 1.5 hours listening to the same dull message. I hung up dialed another Bankwest number, listened to another crappy message for 15 minutes.
Hung up dialed another number listed for Bankwest on the internet still only a BS message.
Dialed the 4th number and still not a human anywhere to be found.
Thank God I was smart enough to take all my savings out before they closed the real live people banks.
No, I don't do internet banking, as I tell Coles and Woolworths, they don't give me a staff discount if I serve myself. what a lot of bad service Not like the old Bank West.

They are an online bank with poor technology.

Their phone system drops out, and their chat is a waste of time. They are an online bank with poor technology.
I am trying to increase my credit card limit before a holiday and the troubles in doing so with BankWest is comical and sad.

Bankwest

I made three lengthy phone calls to Bankwest about setting up a joint account. At no point was I told that I could not do what I wanted.
In fact I was told I could. On the fourth phone call, when I tried to finalise, I was told I couldn't do what I wanted. I was told different details about joint accounts and how many I can have with different people. After delays due to different advice, I thought I had things sorted but was told I couldn't open the account. And they kept saying if we had a bricks and mortar bank we could help you. Really frustrating and a waste of time.

Terrible for overseas travel

I have several banks that I use in Australia. After having my phone stolen with my Bank West debit card in the case overseas, Bank West was by far the most difficult to deal with in trying to block the card, retrieve my PAN number, request refunds for the fraudulent transactions and request a new card. If it wasn't for the fact I had my credit card in my suitcase at the time, I literally would've been stranded in Belgium with no way to access my money. As soon as I arrived back at the hotel, I called Bank West on a friend's phone and after spending close to an hour on the phone your staff were unable to verify me. Even so, I advised the card had been stolen and requested them to put a block on it. The next day, Bank West sent me an email advising that there were suspicious transactions on the account. I replied advising that I had already told Bank West that the the card had been stolen. The fraudulent transactions of $350 + could have been avoided if Bank West has simply listened the first time. After missing their fraud department's call and replying via email with appropriate hours to call noting the time difference, they did not attempt again - I had to call them several times. Not only this but when I returned to Australia, upon activating my "new" debit card received in the mail I realised Bank West had sent me a replacement debit card with the same card number as the one that was stolen. The only one I was able to activate in the app was for a new card that I did not have. Bank West then cancelled this new card (preventing me from using it on Apple Pay). I now have to wait another 5-7 days to receive another new debit card with another card number. I honestly can't believe how difficult Bank West makes it for people whose cards have been stolen overseas to recover their funds and banking details, especially when Bank West advertises themselves as being the best bank for overseas travellers.

Data stalking coersion.

First they shut down all their stores. Now they're demanding you let them collect more data and information about you. And if you don't agree? Then you can't access your own money. This isn't a choice, it's coercion.

Stay away, terrible bank

I’ve been with this bank my entire life. They’re absolutely awful. I can’t recommend strongly enough not banking with them; particularly if travelling overseas. On a few occasions, like purchasing travel insurance for a trip I informed the bank about, they froze my accounts. I was left with no money, stranded, and the process to unfreeze my accounts was completely shambolic. I’ve heard nothing but negative reviews of the bank and persisted with them… what a mistake that was. Never again.

Bankwest/CBA, get stuffed.

After receiving an email from Bankwest regarding their new so called 'behavioural security’ policy.

I see this as complete crap, I understand that with this new policy, they will share all information that they gather with 3rd parties, just how is that secure?

And you have no choice but to agree or lose access to your accounts, just how is that legal?

Their new 'behavioural security’ policy is not secure in my opinion.

Bankwest claims, in their email, that they will monitor keystokes, swipes etc in order to detect abuse of your account, but how can they, unless they force you to load 3rd party software into your PC/mobile phone so they can track your online banking activities.

I have decided that after 25 years as a Bankwest customer to take my business elsewhere.

Bankwest/CBA, get stuffed, you have lost my business.

I'd give 0 stars if I could, and I was trying to give them money!

Tried to open a new account online. These are all the things that happened along the way.
Could start my application on my laptop but had to switch to the mobile app to complete it.
Did my ID verification via the app but it couldn't read my drivers licence correctly and so kept failing the ID. I wasn't allowed to just provide my licence details - it had to scan the actual licence in my hand.
Got an email saying I failed the ID so I'd have to fill out a form and get verified at the post office. Did that.
Didn't say anything on the form or anywhere else what would happen next.
Logged in to my customer dashboard and there was no info there to say I had started an account application and submitted ID verification.
No email from BankWest to say they had received the verification.
Had to get on to chat. Person said they would look into it. After a few minutes I asked if they were still there. Was told I wasn't being patient enough and that they serve multiple customers at a time!
Eventually told that they had received my verification but it would need to be checked by a case officer, in 3-5 business days time.
At this point had had enough so said I actually wanted to cancel my application.
Told they would request that but that I wouldn't get any confirmation when the cancellation had been actioned. If I wanted to know I had to log on to chat in 3-5 business days and ask.
I've opened accounts with other banks big and small and I've never had so much trouble trying to be a customer. I've been able to have my ID verified as part of the process and get an account up and running within 10 minutes. I suggest no matter how good the product is that they are offering, you take your money somewhere else.
