I recently rented a car from Bargain Car Rentals and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The booking process was straightforward, the pickup was quick and hassle-free, and the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful.
To top it off, I received a complimentary upgrade, which was a really nice surprise and made the trip even more enjoyable. The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed.
What impressed me most was the value for money. The pricing was very competitive compared to other rental companies, and there were no unpleasant surprises along the way.
Great customer service, an easy rental process, excellent value, and a free upgrade—I couldn't ask for much more. I'll definitely be using Bargain Car Rentals again and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable car hire option.

Check was a bit slow as their was some issue with incorrect billing but that being said the girl that checked us in was very apologetic and helpful and was able to verify the incorrect billing was rectified
On return it was so quick, we got there at 7.15am and the shuttle driver was just leaving but revered back in to pick us up. Literally took us 2 min to return car and get on shuttle to airport, driver was very friendly and courteous

Easy process, friendly service and good price.

I normally travel to Melbourne every week. And I have ordered the car from u guys mutiple times. However this time the wait was more than 25 mins in freezing cold. When the driver arrived I asked him “what happened as normally the pickup van arrives within 15 mins or more”. He abruptly and rudely said “I dont know i just started and then started talking rudely to me.” I said thank you to stop the conversation. There are another older gentleman and the driver turned the heating on & said to the older gentleman” its cold, heating only for you”, looking at me through his front mirror. The driver lacked courtsey, manners and on top was super rude and made me feel insulted for just asking that why the pickup van took so long. I mentioned this to the booking lady at the counter, who apologisedon his behalf but it was not her fault, it was the driver with bad attitude and lacked professionalism. Also, I booked Kona and got an older version of MG. Normally u guys are amazing like east coast and other rentals but this time it was shocking.

Great service and price to match

It was great value for money, and the rental car was in excellent condition.

However, my vehicle pick-up experience was disappointing. I was served by a lady at the Melbourne Airport office who was unprofessional and raised her voice at me when I asked questions about the vehicle during the pick-up process. This made the experience uncomfortable and left a poor impression.

While I was satisfied with the quality of the car and the overall value, I hope bargain can improve its customer service to ensure a more positive experience for future customers.

It was a fast and uncomplicated experience. And I didn't realize I had booked a compact car and the lady was going to allow me to book another bigger vehicle but I just ended up getting the one I booked.

As always, great experience from airport to car yard and back. Staff always happy to help… great car.

The website allows you to purchase excess insurance through a third party and you only find out about the one you guys sell when picking up the car.that doesnt sit right. Pickup and drop off was fine, process was quite quick and pretty simple.

The car was perfect, very clean, staff were lovely on pick up and drop off as always can never fault the friendliness from these guys. 110% will recommend to all family and friends. We will always go with bargain car rentals as they have always looked after us when travelling to Melbourne :)

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The vehicle I was provided displayed multiple error messages, which suggests it had not been adequately inspected or maintained before being rented out. This may have been an isolated incident, but as a first-time customer, it has left me with little confidence, and I would not choose to rent from them again.

During the rental period, the staff were generally helpful. However, the post-rental customer service has been extremely poor. The depot manager advised that Head Office would contact me by the following Tuesday. It has now been two weeks, and despite also emailing Head Office myself over a week ago, I have not received any response or acknowledgement regarding the significant issues I experienced during my rental.

I deliberately waited this long before posting this review to give the company a fair opportunity to respond and resolve the matter, but unfortunately, that has not happened.

Another downside is that the company only operates from an off-airport depot, with no alternative branches or depots available, which can be inconvenient if issues arise during your rental.

I hope the company improves both its vehicle maintenance standards and its after-sales customer service, as responding to customers after a rental is just as important as serving them before and during it.

Getting the car was a breeze, very friendly staff. I've been coming to Melbourne & getting car from Bargain for the past 3-4 years exclusively.
I wanted to change my car halfway & it easy a pleasant experience as well.

The overall rental experience was acceptable. When I returned the car, I asked a staff member if they could drop me off at my hotel near the airport, and he agreed. However, the driver said this service was not available. I told him one of his colleagues had already promised to take me there, but he still refused.

He made me wait for about 40 minutes, repeatedly making excuses that the vehicle needed cleaning and his coworker needed to rest. The inconsistent information and unreasonably long waiting time were incredibly frustrating. I won’t rent from this company again.
